  1. Don't think McGhee seen anything of Blyth beyond scouting videos.
  2. Forgetting the fact it's Joe fucking Chalmers, why is he calling up a 22 year old rather than a kid in preparation for the next qualifying campaign. Sbragia must be one of the biggest clowns in Scottish football. When he inevitably parts company with the SFA, I hope Craigan applies. The organisation, composure on the ball and style of play he brings to our u20s is streets ahead of the national team.
  3. Just heading home from Tynecastle. Really poor stuff. Not sure if that's down to poor coaching of the quality of player, probably the former. Liam Henderson the one positive.
  4. Clocked Kennedy a couple of times, looks like he's been through a grim virus. Interesting that more rumours are emerging around Blyth. My hunch from very early on is that McGhee isn't keen on him.
  5. No representation at Under 17 level either. Thought we had a number of prospects in that age group.
  6. I actually forgot about how Blyth described his attributes. Early days but his ability to run in behind hasn't looked obvious in his brief appearances. Agree that if anyone else comes in, it has to be a midfielder. With none of Thomas, McLean and Campbell going out on loan though I'm content to go with what we have.
  7. A striker that can run in behind. Certainly something we needed but we're still a little unbalanced in midfield. Having said that, Burrows hasn't ruled out looking at free agents.
  8. Note to self - don't agree to start a new job the morning after transfer deadline day. Come on tae fuck Motherwell.
  9. I'd be surprised if we were willing to pay for Pawlett. Not the profile of player we are likely to invest in.
  10. Good luck to Marvin. Great player to watch when he was in full flow and provided some good memories. However, he's not the type of guy that would get near your favourite or best Motherwell XI. He was seen as an investment and it's certainly paid dividends. Hopefully we can continue to follow this model.
  11. Preston signed a right back too. Has Humohrey/Grimshaw not been playing right back this season....
  12. Scott Burns anticipating a couple of signings and he retweeted the Luka Belic rumour. Edit - beaten to it.
  13. Tweet from Burrows to suggest there is potential movement.
  14. Attacking midfielder is exactly what we need, looks to have a bit of pace about him too.
  15. Good move. A player who cruises through u20s games and needs the pressure of competitive football to get him ready for our 1st team.
  16. Talk of Tony Andreu returning to Scotland with Dundee Utd the favourites to get him. If we are looking for an attacking midfielder, surely he'd be one of our irons in the fire.
  17. I'm sure McGhee said the club were in a position to push the button on identified targets should Marvin move on. Obviously that's easier said than done on transfer deadline day but I trust we are well prepared. I actually wouldn't mind if we lost Marvin and couldn't get a deal for a replacement done. It would give Thomas and McLean a right good opportunity to prove themselves. Having said that if we end up with GMS or Henderson I'll be flipping delighted.
  18. Exactly who we should be reaching for if fit and there is scope for reinvestment.
  19. Wouldn't be adverse to Celtic signing him, especially if we could nab one of their fringe players in return. If the personal reasons line is being used though, it's surely for a move south.
  20. Think it would be best all round if we could get him moved on this month for a decent fee. Talented boy with lots of potential but he's not fancied it in recent weeks. Would like to think we have 1 or 2 quality players lined up should a deal go through.
  21. This is a concern for me. There is no guarantee that Moult will be ready for the Ross County game. And if even if he is, it will likely take a few weeks to get him up to speed. Blyth has been signed as the alternative, the big target man McGhee has been looking for since January, presumably to ensure we are more successful when we are playing direct. By the looks of it though, Blyth is a long way off being ready. Personally I'd have liked a more mobile striking option, someone that can run in behind and compliment McDonald.
  22. Relatively content with a point. The first half performance was the best I've seen this season with the majority of our team looking good. There was a nagging feeling from early on however that we wouldn't score today and almost inevitably we ran out of steam in the 2nd half. With McDonald always dropping deep to link up the play, we had nobody stretching the play or offering presence in the box. I imagine McGhee would have hoped for more from his inverted wingers in that respect. The other big miss is in midfield. Cadden offers plenty of running power and Clay had a very impressive first 45 but neither offer that wee bit of a quality and composure Pearson possessed in the final third. Work in progress.
  23. Is Les' daughter still on the Board? If he's ill but still has faith in the project, maybe he could transfer ownership to someone he trusts...
  24. I reluctantly joined up in April but would be very disappointed if a deal was signed and sealed with consultation with the society members and more importantly, the core fan base. With crowds reducing and income revenues constrained, there is very little momentum behind this.
