Like most, baffled by the arrival of a keeper. Can only assume that Ripley is away in January and/or Twardzik has a loan or permanent deal lined up. Any scenario that leads to us having 3 keepers on a first team wage for a sustained period of time would be incredibly concerning. As for Samson, I've never rated him but i have 100% faith in our fancy scouting software... Disappointed and surprised by what's been said about Watt. I like the look of him but his absence this season has suggested something untoward is going on. You'd like to think the club would be able to judge a young boys character before offering him a 3 year deal.

How the fuck Baraclough thinks he can get away with Taylor in a midfield two is beyond me.
-
Crossed my mind that Robinson's absence during the International break may have contributed to such a clueless performance today.
-
I've got a soft spot for Moult but he was pretty poor today like the majority of the team. I though Ainsworth was the one player that carried a threat and kept going until the end.
-
I want to like the guy but he's just not cut out for it and is steering Motherwell to a terminal decline. Time for those who recruited him to take responsibility. Why we let relative amateurs select a novice manager and then give him free reign to turnover 30+ staff is beyond me.
-
Delighted that Moult got the equaliser but that standard of performance was bordering on unacceptable. I suppose the writing was in the wall when the invisible man was announced in the starting lineup. Last season, we were very inconsistenct under Baraclough but when we were good, we were a side that looked well drilled and well coached. This season, we are devoid of cohesion and technical ability. Hitting long balls for 90 minutes is in stark contrast to his stated vision of the game. Another major negative brewing is the standard of player recruited in the summer. Again in contrast to the blueprint of the new regime, the early signs are that the squad has been clogged up with mind-numbing mediocrity, that is already to the detriment of Leith, Cadden, Moore & co.

In the same breath, Baraclough suggested Pearson's absence would cover 2 International breaks. So that would take us to mid-October.
-
Surely Watt would have featured in Lasley's testimonial if he was in contention? After 2 poor Scotland performances I'm looking forward to the change in scenery. I think we'll struggle though against a decent County side. 3-1 Ross County with Jackson Irvine a standout performer.

Probably my all time Motherwell favourite. I was impressed by his debut at Ibrox and soon became smitten with him. Hopefully he gets a good turnout but the timing and opposition aren't great.

This was a good informative listen as usual. Amidst the WS chat at the weekend, I had missed Les' views on our current youth players. Maybe you can get his daughter on the show at some point...
-
So just to be clear, the club are due to make the payments and the WS will help where necessary. This was my initial understanding. So all this noise via the Daily Mail about the 1st payment being missed - it's the club that have defaulted on the payment? We could do with some transparency on the numbers rather than LH running to a Tory rag.

I'd go along with this. On paper he has the attributes of Jennings and if he can to apply these attributes at our level, then he'll prove to be a good stop-gap at the very least. I doubt however that Grimshaw or Taylor featured highly on our shortlist at the beginning of the summer. I wasn't expecting anything other than a loan deal yesterday but taking the summer as a whole, it's a tad disappointing that we haven't filled a key position with a more concrete signing. Putting it in perspective though, much bigger clubs than Motherwell have failed to nail their key targets this year.
-
Stopped watching mutv a while back but if he was previously nominated alongside Andreas Pereira for club poty, he must be decent. As an aside, I think Motherwell must be close to having a bigger first team squad than Man Utd.
-
Given out relative embarrassment of riches upfront, maybe we're exchanging backup for Rooney.
-
Thomas is on a first team contract. However, all young players can get get a leased top of the range Merc/Audi if they want, even on a modest wage.
-
Under the Dempster regime, I believe some players got close to a 6 figure bonus at the end of the season but I think/hope they days are gone. Or else, our tenner a month isn't going to stretch far.
-
St Pats have a cup final in a few weeks. Doubt Bolger will move before end of season.
-
I think if Baraclough was keen on Grant, he'd have made a move when Pearson got injured.
-
Watt's absence from the bench would suggest he's not going to be first choice right back anytime soon. Unless of course he picked up an injury after East Fife.
-
Thomas is such a bright spark, love watching his technique. His final ball will come. Shout for Moult as well, he's had an excellent week. Hard to assess Kennedy against such a powderpuff outfit.
-
Good stuff for the first 25 minutes or so before we gradually ran out of ideas, following a similar pattern to previous weeks. In truth we should have been out of sight but it turned into a turgid affair against a Killie team that defended well in numbers but offered little going forward. Dom the bright spark again, albeit there is a lot to work on before he can establish himself as a first team regular. The form of McDonald is a concern. To his credit though, he continues to look for the ball despite knowing his touch and speed of play isn't what it should be. Welcome 3 points that takes a little pressure off the club as we head into the International break.

That does my head in. Maybe just an O2 thing as most folk around me can check the scores.

Said from day 1 the society wouldn't work. We simply don't have the appetite or numbers. It's also been proven that we don't have the collective business nous or leadership within our fan base to drive and sustain such a business model. Then comes along Les the saviour who'll steer the society down a professional path. Sadly he's proven to be deluded and arrogant with regards fan ownership with his vision of the 'community' stuck in the 1980s. Sooner we move on and start living within our means, the better. Unfortunately we're likely to end up in more trouble than we were in a year ago with multiple loans to be paid back to our billionaire philanthropist. Loans partly accumulated to cover the wages of a range of unnecessary appointments that us fans had no input too.

Said earlier that while the signing would be welcome in isolation, it sets off a few alarm bells: 1. Bringing in 4 strikers during the summer, all boxes should have been ticked. Does the manager have an eye for a player? 2. Are we overspending? Good luck to the new boy.
-
In isolation, signing a striker with a bit of pace and pedigree would be an obvious welcome addition. Given that we brought in 4 new strikers however, one involving a transfer fee and another likely to be our highest earner, any further additions upfront would set off a few alarm bells.
