Was just thinking the same - I don’t see what value he adds to the team .
feel sorry for Spencer on the right with sod hitting useless balls and slattery pissing about
Don't think there's enough players available for him not to be playing. Unless McGinn is ready to come back.

So Kettlewell got his team selection from the forum then 🙂

After the defeat to Raith Rovers in the cup, we played St Midden on the Tuesday in a game that no one gave us a chance in. We all know what happened next......

If we're 2 up with 10 to go I'll be too excited to notice what the hell we do.
Personally think 2 forwards is the right balance and would be nice to see Slattery/Spittal further up where they add the most value.I agree with the team selection, just not the subs 🙂

Formations are obviously flexible, but on relfection what I was suggesting would look more like this......
Kelly
SOD Mugabi Blaney
Spencer Davor Paton Gent
Slattery Spittal
Biereth
That's what I'd go for (unless McGinn becomes available)

I'd be happy to go old school. Have 2 defensive mids and 2 forward thinking midfield.
I believe we need to be better at moving forward/backwards as a team and shoring up midfield is key to that.
Additionally having Spencer and Gent hitting the bi-line and get crosses in.
Kelly
Spencer Mugabi Blaney Gent
Davor. Paton
Slattery. Spittal
Obika Bireth
Subs - Bair for either Slattery/Spittal
- Wilkinson/Shaw for Obika
Predicting sub requirements before the game kicks off ?? Do you know something we don't ?
What if we're 2 up with 10 to go ? Still going 3 up front ??

Nah, Gent has run into trouble multiple times trying to defend (he's given away free kicks right on the line that were lucky not to be pens). He's good going forward, but I seriously doubt his ability to play 90 mins and cope with the defensive duties. Everyone has been screaming for him to play because he's good going forward, and I get that, but I think if he was up to the task defensively, Kettlewell would have started him long before now.
Davor just looks like he's no where near SPL standard to me.
More than happy to be proved wrong and will celebrate a win as much as the next man. maybe the adversity of being short of players and backs against the wall will bring a performance out of them today.
I'm quoting my own post here just to show how fucking little I know 🤣

BBC website has us ahead on points 🙂 Is that an accurate reflection of what's happening ?

fair play - this is as strong a team as we have available.
Been wanting to see Spencer/Gent on the wingback roles fo a while.
Equally been keen to see Davori expect you'll see why neither of them have started 🙂

Don't think there was much choice in that line up TBH, given who's missing. Lets jst hope they can dig out a result.

Well said sir. It looks like SK will be in charge and for me it's win or bust but I will be roaring on the lads as usual (and bugging hell out of my mates with my jokes).
However Levein won't need a team talk if our lads and SK are subjected to criticism for every mistake. That breeds nerves and won't help us get 3 points.
Win and it buys SK a dugs chance but anything less and even someone as positive as me needs to face reality. If Butcher and Casey injured and Paton available from suspension then my plan.
KELLY
SOD. BEVIS. BLANEY
SPENCER GENT
PATON. SPITTAL. SLATTERY
MIKA. WILKINSON
some in that line up really need to produce a big performance as they have been poor recently

What was the news on McGinn ? Was he not being assesed for return yesterday ? Was anything further said anywhere re. his availability for Saturday ?

Why? Because he is an obnoxious wee ginger prick that would cause an argument in an empty house, we don't need that or any of the ugly sisters baggage that comes with him.
You won't get any arguement from me. Would rather eat my own bollocks than have that horrible cunt at the club.

I had thought that with the international break and the positive performance and result at Celtic Park, SK had managed to clear his head and focus on what was required to get us back on an upward trajectory, but that team selection tonight was the kind of thing that would get any manager sacked. We had only lost Paton from Saturday yet he felt the need to tinker with the whole team and place yet more square pegs in round holes.
Returning to a formation that had failed miserably only a few weeks ago was madness.
Quite how he thought that would work is baffling and the sign of of a manager in crisis. He then doubled down on this with even crazier substitutions. His decision making is shot and it looks like it may be ireparably so.
Ive defended SK up until now, but if results go against us tomorrow and at the weekend we could end up bottom of the league without a win in 14.
He could not and should not survive that.
Pretty much agree with that and I've defended him up until now as well. I said before the game that the team selection was one made by someone who's lost his shit.

Paul Lambert hasn't had a job in three years so he might take it. It's the best offer he'll get now.
Tam Courts took Dundee United into Europe the last time he managed in Scotland.
McCall might do it for the sentiment.
FFS......seriously ??

I quite like the idea of Mowbray but I doubt, recently sacked or not, that he’ll jump from £30k pw to £5k pw
Lennon leaves me with a bit of sick in my mouth but I do think he’d be a decent manager for us.
Why ? Lennon took an all conquering Celtic team to 2nd against a poor Rangers, losing the chance of 10 in a row with the biggest budget in the country. What about his past record with any club suggests he'd be a good manager anywhere ?

Even the BBC text commentary are taking the piss now.

Same formation SOD at rcb.
Well, that might help Casey. He's struggled since McGinn went out and he moved right.
Now we'll prob get to see what Gent wasn't starting, and Davor......

Spencer, O'Donnell and Gent are all on the park?
Is it a back four with Spencer right wing?
or a back 4 with gent left midfield..........who knows......

Really hoped that Kettlewell would be able to get back to winning ways but looking very unlikely.
Wonder if Tony Mowbray would be interested.
Me too mate, but I think his time is up now. Trying that experimental formation in a winnable game, when we're struggling is unforgivable.

anyone watching via xciptv ???

I cant seem to get the game from my 'usual source' tonight. Looks like i may be the lucky one......
