Careful, that will be construed as 'lacking ambition' and 'being oot yer depth' with that kind of patter.

That's kinda the way I was seeing it. The initial fee is what ? Around 3-4 years of the Barmack input with no shares or transfer of ownership of anything other then The Bair ?
-
Nice corner from Hallidy and great header from Balmer.

Like most of your jokes, we're never sure until you confirm it.

It's like watching the h**s. Break of the ball always seems to fall to them. Mis-hit shot for the second goal 99% of the time would have ended up as a goal kick.

Ross Co at home.....get three points on the board before the 12 week winless streak. Ooops, wrong login.

What has happened to this forum ? Several posters happy with a signing ? This can't last. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to say that he's shite and if Kettlewell can't see that, he's an idiot. Welcome to Motherwell Liam. Hope your ego and confidence don't bruise easily.

he'e got a foreign name, so he must be good !
-
Not usually one to jump on signings before they've kicked a ball, but that could at best be described as 'uninspiring'.

That'll light the blue touchpaper for a few on here......

Thing that always bothers me about the League Cup groups is whn we get beat or look shagged, people say 'ooooh it's early in the season, they're not ready yet' Do the lower division opposition not play to the same season and close season as us ?

Reports suggesting Kelly has agreed a deal with Sevco's Bench.....

Strange old season, from taking Hearts apart in the second game, winning the next two (while not playing that well in long periods of these two but still getting the results) the season ahead looked pretty bright, then the wheels came off. Did enough later on to stay up and even have a couple of week flirt with top six and of course the long awaited beating of Rangers, you could call it a season of highs and lows with just a few too many lows. The one thing that didn't happen this time round, was the players downing tools when things went bad. The effort and togetherness was always there and these draws during the bad run helped a lot in keeping us up. Ive been supporting Motherwell since about 1972 and nothing surprises me any more really. We'll have good years and bad years. A lot of people forget that we flirted with relegation for 3/4 of the 90/91 season. Hopefully we can do good business this summer, but every year it gets harder for the teams with the smaller budgets to compete and spending what you don't have is a recipe for oblivion, despite what the 'show some ambition' brigade seem to think. It's a crap cliche but it is a rollercoaster. Next season we might be brilliant or we might be shite, or, more likely, we'll be somewhere in between.

I suppose ending the season on a defeat will give the Four Posters of The Apocalypse plenty to post about for the next couple of months. Happy close season everyone. We can now go and post on P&B about how shite Scotland are at the Euros, before coming back here to slag off a manager domestically after a good pre-season of dismissing new signings before they've kicked a ball. Looking forward to it already 🙂

Well worked goal by Moses. Counts for nowt right enough. But it was decent football.
-
FFS, not going to be our day today. Any other day, there would hev been 2 goals in the last five mins. There was some right neat footy in there at times too.
-
Agreed, either or, but Bevis could have cleared it instead of staring at it. Been the same problem with defenders all season. Look at the ball then look about and shake yer head that someone else didn't deal with it. A defenders first instinct under pressure shpuld be to get it tae fuck.
-
That was fucking Bevis again........exactly the same mistake he made for the first goal. Watching the ball instead of scudding it into the car park.
-
Bevis being Bevis.......

That back 4 makes me fearful............ Wrong again, it's a 5 with Nicholson at RWB

I'd actually have given that accolade to Vic Davidson. Superb footbal player with control, vision, skill. A great passer and a goalscorer as well. Imagine having a team now with the qualities of Pettigrew, Graham, Marinello and Davidson all in the same side !!!

Well, that was a pish all round performance Wasn't much in it up to the pen, but after that it was coasting for Hibs. Still, at least there will be plenty to read on the forum. A long awaited defeat will bring the usual suspects out.

Was thinking he should be picking the teams and managing one of them.

I wasn't for punting Kettlewell during the bad run, simply because there was no sign of disharmony or lack of effort in the squad and apart from a couple of notable exceptions, there were few absolutely dross performances. Just fine margins, a missed chance, a defensive howler being the difference in a lot of games. With regard to budget and expectations, there are a lot of people on here who simply won't forgive the signing of a player that doesn't work out. Newsflash.......every single manager in every single league brings in players who don't work for one reason or another. Is the suggestion here that Motherwell should be able to hire a manager who only signs players that work out perfectly ? OK, we've got a smaller budget that most teams in the league, so bad buys show up more, but really, at the point of signing a contract, who would have put Moult above Fletcher ? There's that or numerous other examples we could bring up. Tommy McLean signed countless dross players in his time, but he also made some of the best signings ever. Everyone wants the team to be the best it possibly can be, but you do have to make allowances for who we are, how big we are and what we have to attract players with (i.e. not unlimited money). Every season is a new opportunity to improve, but we'll have good games, we'll have bad games, we'll have highs a we'll have lows and, in our league, very fine margins in a few games will decide if we're chasing europe or fighting relegation.
