  1. On the fishel site now. Come on Grizzly, get the Kettle puns going. You'll be in yur element......
  2. Correct. Willie McLean and then Roger Hynd had Stuart Rennie. Sproat came along with the advent of ally mcleod.
  3. Not sure if it's maybe just me but I can see a massive and obvious difference between the Hammel Bounce and the Kettlewell Bounce. Robinson/Alexander and then Hammel all persisted with a particular formation with a striker playing on the wing and midfielders doing things they weren't suited to, the more it didn't work, the more they stuck to it. Where are all the folks who went mental the last time a Hammy team sheet was read out with Sheilds on the right wing ? What Kettlewell did was look at the formation and change it completely. Extra defender in the middle to make a back three, Goss in the middle where he's more effective and Spittal/Cornelius pressing from the front and tracking back, trying to deliver the ball to one or two strikers in the final third rather than on the half way line or out wide. These changes have taken us to two wins in a row, one of them beating the clear 3rd best team in the league. So, it's not 'just two wins', it's a complete change to the way we line up and approach games. Neither of pre-sacking Robinson, Alexander or Hammel did that, with much more time to do it.
  4. Probably cause 'flow called him about the Aberdeen job...
  5. Not accepted it yet I don' t think. We're all boiling with anticipation, but if he takes it, some of the support will be in their element.
  6. To be honest I'm rather disappointed in the amount of laughing emojis it got. I was sure it was a winning comment 🤣
  7. You'd have to be a total maddie to think they'll be no jokes about his name.......
  8. A week ago everyone was saying that our players were all shite and whover was in charge, we were doomed because of Alexander/Hammels's signings. Kettlewell has managed to prove that the squad we have is capabale of beating the clear third best team in the country, on their day. I think between that and the momentum he has generated, mean that he should be given the job until the end of the season with further discussions to take place depending on where we finish. The last thing we need is another manager coming in now and saying 'no, we play 433, you centre forward, get out on the wing' or some such crap that is based on his dogma or 'football ethos' rather than knowledge of our players or league. Getting the best out of what we have is the key to getting out of this relegation battle.
  9. Jings. A MoM thread that you actually want to take part in. It's been a while 😁
  10. I'm not a big fan of the old 'give it to the caretaker after two games' but no one can deny the difference kettlewell has made both to the shape/organisation and application of the players. Everyone worked hard today. I'd much rather see Kettlewell to the end of the season than some media clown or a manager with no experience in Scotland. Kettlewell may have failed to get Ross Co out of a relegation battle, but at least he's lived through it and should have learned from any mistakes he made.
  11. A lot of players who were 'useless' a couple of weeks ago turning really good performances today.
  12. Holloway, in my opinion, would be a mental appointment. Surely our board don't want to go into this relegation fight with a media clown/entertainer with no recent record and a spectacular failure on his record. Especially one that seems to have the public persona of the kind of comedian that gets booked for low grade caravan parks.
  13. The bit I can't really get my head round is, if you look back to when Hammy was given the job and we went up to play the sheep. We played great attacking football, all the players were looking to play the ball forward early and even the midfield, like Slattery, were getting into positions in the opposing box. That lasted two or three weeks before we went back to Alexander style of stop, wait, play the ball back, no off the ball movement and a general turgid approach, leading to few if any chances being created. At the start, I really thought he was going to give us an attacking side in the style of McGhee Mk 1.
  14. So he did ok with a team with a similar sized fan base to ours and got found out at a club where he didn't speak the language in a league he probably knew very little about. Sounds better to me than someone who's failed multiple times at other clubs (which is the position of most managers currently on the jobseekers allowance).
  15. That would be quite a good shout actually
  16. How many phone calls is Nijholt away this time ??
  17. Howler from Ruddy and a goal from Lukey Jukey on the tv last night
  18. The tombola machine has returned from injury.....
  19. I'm going to make a bold prediction (my predictions are ALWAYS wrong). Tht line up will get us pumped.
  20. If Tony Watt could contribute to improving the team (which he did before) I'd have him back. If Tony fuckin'' Straker could help keep us up i'd have him back an' aw'. OK, I maybe went a bit far, but the question is, is Tony Watt a better footballer than those we have playing up front just now ?
  21. If ever there was a pointless change at the 88 min mark, that was it.
  22. I thought Crankshaw had shown enough to start ahead of Shields
  23. Lets just hope they don't get a man sent off now
