Absolutely. More and more Americanisms creeping into UK English. A sign of the times!

Absolutely. He's got little chance of getting a game with us but none with Hearts. Going by his limited gametime so far he's well down Robbo's pecking order. However he (Robbo) may wish to leave things be until he finds out which other strikers will be with the club at the end of the month unless business is concluded early. In any event we don't know whether there is a break clause in the loan deal this month.

Did I say that? Of course he isn't to blame. However if you're dealing with volatile and hyped up young folk the last thing you want to do is to goad them. They might act perfectly peacefully but they might not. Its just not worth the risk. There's no excuse for chucking missiles onto the pitch end of but common sense says you don't inflame the situation. By all means celebrate if you score but don't inflame a potentially dangerous situation or put yourself in danger. Had Imrie or someone else been hit on the head by a seat or other missile it would have been no laughing matter. Common sense says you walk away. Dougie Imrie, at 35, is a senior player and should have known better irrespective of any provocation. He should have set an example to younger players.

Steven Saunders joins Partick.

The thing is he hadn't. He scored in 17 minutes, fairly early on in the game. Of course there's history between him and a section of our support and I get that. Until he scored any "abuse" was fairly low key by historic standards. I suggest on this occasion he ramped it up. Its only human to react when subjected to constant abuse, but I hadn't heard much up until that point. Irrespective of historical antagonism he should not have run over to our support and gesture. The missile throwing could have ended much worse than it did. The pantomime villain stuff is ok up to a point but on Saturday it was in grave danger of really boling over.

Memories cloud the reality I'm afraid. In some ways like Stuart Elliott. Could be outstanding in a game and really produced something extra special then disappears for the next month or two. He made life hard for those trying to cover for his defensive frailties. The typical unpredicatble winger. Good luck to him but not at Fir Park.

And never has it been publicised more.

Pretty much agree with that and I think Newell will also be offski. Mbulu - raw but shown promise and was beginning to settle in to first team football. A lot will depend on the nature and extent of his eye injury and we'll just have to wait and see. Fingers crossed for him. A lot is going to depend on Robbo's future plans. Is he going to persist with the long ball or change our style of football slightly? That might depend on the quality we can bring in or more likely on those coming through our youth ranks. We have lost a bit of physicality this year and he may want to improve that. He'll also want to watch the likely direction of travel of our rivals and try to counteract them. Will he replace like with like? The signings he makes in this window may give us a clue as to his rebuilding intentions. Many questions but few answers as yet. Just heard that Ryan Bowman is off. Presumably we'll receive a "Five figure fee" for him

I, in no way, condone the damaging of seats or throwing of missiles onto the pitch, but I wasn't at all surprised by what happened. Dougie Imrie knew exactly what he was doing after he scored. He quite intentionally ran over to the most volatile element of our support and incited and provoked them. Now he is 35 years of age and they are mostly teenagers - old enough to be their father in most cases and he should know far better. He might even be the Accies captain. I had no problem with him celebrating his goal but to do so in such a fashion? I really was expecting the referee, stewards or police to intervene but none did so. At the very least he deserved a yellow card. In my book his actions were worse than Michael Higdon's at Tannadice a few years ago.

He's back with us from today.

It was indeed. By 2.50 it was obvious that the stand was going to be full or as near as dammit (with the exception of the very end section, which was cordoned off for some reason). Late arrivals couldn't get seats and were just milling about whilst stewards just stood. Fans then began to stand at the front and down an aisle leading to a potentially serious health & safety issue. They had to wait ages before the gazebo stand was opened up. Everyone could see that they needed to open it up - why did it take so long? All totally predictable and avoidable.

The problem is that many fans have been brainwashed into thinking that the English Premier League as being the standard, which it most certainly isn't. To be fair many national leagues are seen by those down south as being inferior and to some extent they're right. The following League 1 and 2 clubs have average attendances which stand good comparison with our Premiership (without the benefit of Guesome twosome attendances). Lincoln City 8,754 Bristol Rovers 8,117 MK Dons 7,089 Oxford United 6,908 Swindon Town 6,368 Tranmere Rovers 6,109 Walsall 5,086 Many of these clubs are heavily in debt and/or are owned by rich sugar daddies.

I see the Gofundme page has been taken down with an explanation by Stuart Turner who set it up. A nice gesture by him I have to say but he acknowledges that there's more to the issue than he thought at first. I'm in the same boat and am a bit puzzled by the whole thing.

Although we may still land McCormack I think Hibs, Dundee or St Mirren are more likely to do so. When I saw his photos at NDP I immediately thought that he'd be the perfect fit for Dundee and the Buddies. Both are desperate and have money to burn. Don't rule out Dundee Utd either. Time will tell.

It seems like its going to be a busy window for us. To sum up so far, "likely" moves are: Bowman, Rose, MacLean and Main out. Maybe Sammon and Turnbull too. Hastie back in and MacCormack in. Thats not to say that the likes of ATS, Newell, and Bigi may not move on. Time will tell. It does seem though that Robbo for all his stock interview language, is well aware of our deficiencies and will be pretty ruthless in moving non performing players on to introduce fresh blood.

What better way to end 2018 and enter the break than a great derby win. It also gives us a bigger advantage over the bottom 3 teams. A big support, wild celebrations and great away day all told. Happy days indeed. With what we've had to put up this season it was just reward. We thoroughly deserved to win and although the first 45 was tight we clearly dominated the second half being the better team. Not the best football we've ever played but it was definitely an improvement on the hoofball of recent months and we did try to play on the deck. Accies were very poor it has to be said. Whilst they were as streetwise as ever they lacked their usual aggressiveness and abrasiveness. No doubt "Scott Brown Mini Me" MacKinnon was missed. The team played well as a whole but I thought Frear and my MOTM, Aldred, were standouts. Frear added much need pace and Aldred was just immense both in attack and in defence. Both his goals were very well taken and our strikers could learn a thing or two from him. Hartley too played his part. Good to see Adam Livingstone come on and get some more first team experience - hopefully he'lll now kick on. Fair play too to Andy Rose for putting in a good shift just before his departure. We did have some weaknesses though. I wasn't in the least surprised when Accies scored from an incursion down our right flank. That was their 3rd such break down an exposed right flank in the first 17 minutes. In general we played far too narrowly and gave Accies some freedom on our flanks, but fortunately they were pretty toothless and couldn't breach our central defence. Gillespie had very little to do. I wasn't impressed by our strikers who worked hard but achieved little. Its maybe significant that both our goals came from a centre back scoring at set pieces. I wasn't impressed by Nick Walsh who had a poor game from start to finish characterised by inconsistency throughout. It wasn't a dirty game and I'm still at a loss how we picked up 3 bookings. If Mr Walsh had to meet a quota then perhaps he could have dished out yellow cards to our old pal Imrie for nearly starting a riot and Sowah for a very bad challenge on Richard Tait. The gazebo side linesman also made some very dubious calls. On the way to the game I spoke brielfy to Charles Dunne who seems to be making a good recovery thank goodness. A "fit" looking Craig Tanner sat just in front of us. A great day to be a Well fan.

Agree with previous posters about MacCormack's abilities but would add that he was lighning fast. If he#s looked after himself he'll still have that speed.

Scott Burns reporting that Luton are keen on Curtis Main.

Dundee and St Mirren will be paying up contracts to release these players so that will cost them big time. But yes, they will strengthen as will Accies. So, we don't just have to compete against them as they are but as they will be. Agree that the Ross County will be a good barometer in a limited sense.
-
If they're paying his wages just now then they should have the final say. If however, we're continuing to pay his wages then we are still his employer and have every right to call upon his services today.
-
If true, I wonder if Maguire will also start making it a 3-5-2 or something similar.
-
Yes, it won't be pretty. Accies will be their usual self, so expect timewasting, gamesmanship and fouls aplenty.

Fixed, thanks to one of this site's members. Thanks.

Thanks anyway folks. I'm not able to get to Glasgow very often. Not a matter of life and death.

Another thought. Would it be possible to recall Jake Hastie 2 days prematurely?
