  1. Maybe down to the SPFL? Club will have been told which sections to release and when.
  2. At the semi final last year, one of our party had cause to ask a steward for advice, outside the stadium. His colleague had to intervene however as the original steward didn't speak any English.
  3. I see there's some instructions on the Official Site. They're all good and well if you buy the tickets personally, but the process is not entirely clear if someone else has bought them for you. There is a cursory reference to buying a ticket for other people but not to receiving it from them. Also, the instructions say that the tickets are for sale to season ticket holders only, in the first instance, and that they can buy as many as they wish. They don't make clear however that they can be bought for non season ticket holders. Maybe just semantics. A right dog's dinner. Presumably there will be a physical help facility outside the stadium on matchday?
  4. I think this is an issue for the Society and will be contacting it about this shambles. They will have more clout in making representations than a few individual fans.
  5. The problem with using one smartphone is that everyone has to arrive together. Seems as though this system was designed by a typical tech expert (if there is such a person), to whom the term "user friendly" means nothing. I can hear them saying "what do you mean that everyone doesn't have a smartphone. I don't understand." As there will be.
  6. I assume we will be allocated about 10,000 tickets, based on the St Mirren website info, which will be more than enough.
  7. Agree 100%. I guess that the SPFL, or whoever is behind this arrangement, simply doesn't care. A symptom of society in general; you only need to look at automated supermarket checkouts which invariably aren't user friendly.
  8. Why can't we do the same? There won't be shortage of tickets. An unnecessarily complicated set of instructions. Unlike the St Mirren site, our doesn't seem to mention the location of our allocated sections, unless I've missed this. These sort of instructions put folk off going to football.
  9. You're spot on. Sevco fans are more important than than Martin though, whilst Kettlewell is more important than Well fans (in the eyes of the media).
  10. Calum Ward's error rate is now unsustainable. Yes, keepers do make mistakes, but there comes a point when it really becomes unacceptable, and thats where we are now. The Ox is now due his chance again. If he proves unreliable then we have to move for a new keeper in the January sales. Goalkeeping errors are now costing us big time.
  11. I'm as disappointed as the next fan but have seen it all before and many times at that. I wasn't expecting anything today. Just as I'm not going overboard about our new type of play I'm not going overboard about yet another defeat at Parkhead.
  12. Disappointed but we deserved nothing today. If you defend like that you take what's coming.
  13. Good end to the half. Keep it going Well.
  14. Gate money yes. Programme & catering sales no.
  15. BBC now giving Saturday's attendance as being 7,195. Whatever the precise number, the trend is certainly very encouraging. If attendances are higher there's also more spend in the shop, catering kiosks and on the HT draw.
  16. Or that they're not going to attend a game or not going to renew a season ticket. I'll caveat that by adding unless there's an important point to be made behind their decision i.e. prices have simply put it out of my reach or similar.
  17. Calum Ward of course. Apologies for the mix up.
  18. I'm not one for believing in luck, but last night tested me. Despite our best efforts we rarely got the break of the ball. In one example, JT was about to go past a defender going after the ball. The defender stumbles and loses his balance; and the ball ricochets off him straight to a colleague. That prevented JT racing in on goal. You couldn't make it up. Hats off to Ibrahim Said. Not the most effective going forward but his defending at set pieces was right out of the Dougie Arnott book of defending. Constantly singled out a big defender; stood on his feet; and wouldn't let him move. I thought Calum Watt had a good game; aided in no small part by Welsh and especially Gordon who took him under their collective wings.
  19. A great win last night and and entertaining one to boot. It was a closed call but we probably just edged it although Aberdeen will feel aggrieved that they didn't take a point, given the chances they missed. It could have been game over for us with in the first 10 minutes as they missed 3 decent chances. After an error strewn opening 15 minutes, we gradually grew into the game and were the better side. Aberdeen looked like we have in previous seasons. Decent performance with some talented players but lacked a bit of simple solidity. Although not dirty, they were somewhat cynical at times, taking advantage of a weak referee. We played some exciting stuff and created chances without really bothering Mitov too much and lacked an end product. Slattery and Just were clearly missed. Overall though a good all round team performance. I thought Welsh and Gordon were outstanding with the latter just edging my MOTM entry. I thought Said looked slightly out of place in central midfield. The team showed bonding and determination through our late surge and goal celebrations. We're work in progress but shaping up nicely, if we can just solve that striking problem. You can't beat a late win and I was pleased that Stamatelopoulos scored with a well taken penalty. I'm surprised the ref ignored it initially but credit due he used VAR. The crowd cheered the players off the pitch and rightly so. Does anyone know what the crowd was incidentally? Just one gripe. The shine was taken off my enjoyment last night as the kiosk ran out of steak and shell pies at half time and we had to make do with a chicken curry version much to the irritation of several punters. Just not the same!
  20. Sorry, I should have explained myself better. I agree with your logic. We don't know what thinking and discussion went on behind closed doors, but the Police would have been consulted and, unofficially, possibly even taken the final decision. The SPFL, I hope, would want to make stewarding cheaper, arguably easier and create a better atmosphere. I suspect thats where you're coming from. Police Scotland however, may wish to keep the 2 sets of fans as far apart as possible to minimise the potential for unrest and conflict. Also it may be that they'd prefer to keep the supports apart for reasons of traffic management. Just speculation on my part however.
  21. Shall we run a sweepstake on which player will be surprisingly out through injury tomorrow?
  22. I wish this initiative every success, but I suspect it will be of limited interest to the vast majority of the membership.
  23. I suspect the Police would have a say in this and their interests may not coincide with those of the SPFL or participating clubs.
  24. Yes, for once we showed a bit of consistency ... and lost both games.
