Only one objection to the proposed plans. The Sun however, covers it in depth and makes an issue of it.

Talk on P & B that Paul McGinn let slip that Callum Slattery is away at the end of the season. If proved true, that won't surprise anyone. He has his faults, but has been a good player and servant for us, intended or not. I wouldn't usually say this of a good player but I hope he does move on, for his own sake. He's a marked man and needs a fresh start.

10 minutes added on time yesterday after 7 being being announced at the end of normal full time. Thats highly unusual. The standard announcement is "a minimum of X minutes" but very, very rarely does that get extended, despite late hold ups. I can't recall the last time that happened.

Yes, a great save, and a great block from Jordan McGhee. Its interesting that he's being preferred to Liam Gordon.

100% agree. If any team in the league knows how to best us, its Falkirk and they will be an exceedingly tough nut to crack. But lets just enjoy a win at Ibrox for the moment. An excellent fighting display with a late winner. Whats not to like. I'm really chuffed for the souls who followed us there. Some good goals too. I'm a little miffed at some comments that I've read saying that Longelo's winner took a wild deflection and that Butland would have saved it otherwise 100 times out of 100. Yes, it took a deflection but a wild one - no. COYW.

I totally get your viewpoint, and although it isn't sporting to say so, any red card for Hibs benefits us in the run in. Likewise Callum Slattery's enforced absence benefitted them. At the business end of the season, it really is dog eats dog. Whilst it would be nice to round off the season in style, maintaining a clear gap over Hibs is more important. I just hope Slattery's yellow card doesn't trigger a further 2 match suspension. We've never been told the conditions attached to his suspended 2 game ban.

So, RCC and Slattery are back in contention, which is good news. However, its concerning that Koutroumbis and Thor are still not back in training. Will we see much of them before the season draws to a close? Results wise, I believe that today's derby in Edinburgh will be of more importance to us than our own game in Glasgow. At a minimum, no red cards or injuries please.

Ward is a decent keeper in the modern style. No more no less. Undoubtedly he's benefitted from the defence in front of him and our style. However, should he move on I'm sure he could be replaced with someone just as good.

It was Willie Miller of Hibs that done it.

Welcome aboard.

Time to vote folks.

Yes, it should indded. Ostensibly, very similar to the Callum Slattery incident and not dealt with on the field. Also recorded on TV. Clearly lessons have not been learnt. Will the media want to upset the Falkirk apple cart? Over to you SFA.
-
Can we now expect Henry Cartwright of Falkirk to be cited by the compliance officer for bringing the game into disrepute by blatantly diving. If a penalty had been awarded, a player would have been sent off and the game could have been won by cheating. Will John McGlynn comment?
-
That could be a very tricky and awkward position for him to be in. Unfair on the player. It shows the risks with loans.
-
It might have been different if a Scottish Government minister put pressure on them as happened with the use of pyros.

Good post. I don't agree with everything he says but I do so more often than not and I like listening to his honest opinions. It seems the SFA doesn't. As with society in general you will never learn anything by refusing to let others with a different opinion or perspective speak. You simply end up in an imploding echo chamber. I never have been impressed with the SFA but its very sad and unacceptable that they have taken this view. What next? Will they ban everyone who has ever criticised a referee. Whether they like it or not, refereeing standards are currently very poor and thats also down to the system not just the odd individual matchday official. They really do need to open themselves up and take on board comments, if they want to improve. Finally, they really ought to recognise the importance of the paying punter.

Only one objection to the plans.

A fair summing up Allan. A bit woolly and short on hard facts. A slight reduction for us. I'll be renewing in any event.

What would he cost, as he's under 24?

Some interesting comments from Lee Wilkie in today's Dundee Courier. "I would scrap VAR in Scottish football tomorrow. The technology affects the game far too much in a negative way and we saw the very worst of that in Dundee’s seemingly endless game at Kilmarnock. Of course, we want to help referees get really close calls correct but the technology gets involved far too much. And it affects the way players play the game, too. Again, not in a good way. I think players dive even more now than they did before. I’m not talking about blatant dives where there is no contact. I’m talking about situations where the forward feels a hand on the back and hits the deck. They do that knowing the Video Assistant Referee is watching and they might get a penalty out of very little. For me, that’s not what football should be about. It is a technical game but there should still be the physical aspect of battling for the ball with someone else. When VAR reviews a decision, they only look for contact but crucially not whether that contact is enough to constitute a foul. You will see strikers running into the box thinking more about initiating contact with a defender than actually scoring the chance. VAR in Scotland has not had many successes to shout about and Saturday at Rugby Park certainly wasn’t one of them. An eight-minute delay doesn’t help anyone. Spectators don’t want to be hanging about that long and, even though Dundee eventually got the penalty, it didn’t help them either. It doesn’t look good for our game. The SPFL and SFA are probably breathing a sigh of relief that didn’t happen in one of the title-deciding fixtures coming up."

Very pleased for you. Well done!

Sorry, I couldn't disagree more. I don't, in any way way condone what Slattery seemed to do (it wasn't proved beyond reasonable doubt), and he has been punished by the SFA. In short he was singled out for special treatment. We've seen several other breaches of Rule 77 since with no action being taken. As the governing body, the SFA and its employees must not get involved in petty vendettas against clubs. It and they should act with the utmost decorum and fairness. If it cannot do this then it will lose the respect of clubs, players and last but by no means least, the paying public and rightly so. At that point, the games a bogey. As Spiderpig says, the club and in my view the Society should call out the level of refereeing and VAR incompetence publicly.

I picked up a very pertinent point from the Society socials about the penalty decision yesterday and its about timing. At the start of the sequence, the Hearts player heads the ball whilst lying on the ground. Thats a foul. Its only after that that Welsh kicks him. The "victim" was so badly injured that he had to roll about several times.

I think if we were offered £500k for Ward he'd be off. McCracken? No way. He's always got a blunder in him, just not against us. Not rated by Dundee fans I know.
