  1. Overall, I'd say its been a decent to good window; probably rating around an 8 out of 10. It could have been much worse, for example if we'd failed to secure another striker, lost a centre back and lost TJ. It could have been slightly better if we'd signed another LB. To add to the mix we have McGhee and Nicholson back now. I always believe that the time to strengthen is when things are going well and if we want to hold onto 4th or even drop to 5th place then more of the same simply won't do. To clarify, I mean the personnel not the system which will continue to work well. Ostensibly both Aberdeen and Hibs have strengthened and even if only some of their new recruits hit the ground running then they'll threaten us. Fortunately we have a decent cushion over both. We mustn't ignore Falkirk either as they are a credible threat and may have strengthened slightly. If we fall to 6th I'd still be delighted. If we drop to 5th place I'll still be over the moon and if we can hang onto 4th place I'll be ecstatic. Finishing in the top 3 whilst theoretically possible is pretty much beyond us. A Scottish cup run? Not so sure this time round. I really think we can achieve something next season though, with or without JBA.
  2. You were spot on. I tip my baseball cap to you sir.
  3. We can still announce signings tomorrow.
  4. Given JBA's comments, I'm expecting a CB to arrive today or tomorrow.
  5. I was and still am hoping for 2 additions today: a LB and a CB.
  6. My wish too. Graeme McGarry tweeting that despite more interest in TJ this morning, presumably from Anderlecht, that our club is standing firm as its too late to source a replacement.
  7. Yes that was a bonus. If he can stay injury free he'll fit nicely into our system and help squad rotation.
  8. A fair summing up. We'll see what tomorrow brings as that might influence our thinking.
  9. Were you using powerful field glasses to view the proceedings from North Berwick Law? 🙂 Seriously though, I agree with your assessment. We should have been well out of sight by half time. The best I've seen us play this season (I missed the Celtic game). No point in repeating previous compliments, which were all justified. What did particularly impress me though is the ability of lads like Just and Said to win the ball back when they lose it. I was expecting one of the Livvy players to poleaxe Said but fortunately it didn't happen. Only slight criticism is that we need to cut out the early potential gifts like the ones yesterday and last week against Killie. Fortunately the opposition couldn't capitalise on them.
  10. A shout out to Yir Elder for a very eloquent call to the BBC's post match phone in. Well said Peter.
  11. Ref gave him no protection. He was getting strangled, his jersey pulled and subjected to all manner of fouls.
  12. It was dreadful. Looked like several tractor tyre marks in the corner. TJ kept slipping.
  13. I don't know. Livvy had a lot of possession especially in the second half. We took our foot off the gas and were a bit sloppy.
  14. Going by online seating plans, it sems as though we'll be taking a healthy support to Livingston today, and rightly so.
  15. The Partick V St Johnstone game last night was a real treat for all Scots football fans, especially us. It was a chance to see 5 former players and one almost former player in action. Alfredo Agyeman, Robbie Crawford, Reece McAlear Simo Valakari and Tony Watt, not forgetting Josh Fowler. I just wonder of the latter is as good as he thinks he is. St Johnstone must have a healthy playing budget for the Championship if they're spending Premeirship level money on wages and paying transfer fees. Whatever they are spending, they're doing a Falkirk by ignoring infrastructure i.e. their pitch.
  16. No great surprise that Stuparevic has departed as it was touted on this forum months ago. It helps to clear the decks.
  17. Never quite got the hype from our fans for him. Looking back I'd say he was ok but no more than that. In a few of the matches in which I saw him, the game seemed to pass him by. If he's being punted out on loan again by Coventry, that tells its own story.
  18. Thats a separate issue Allan, although I agree with you over that. Even when away fans are allocated the upper tier at Fir Park e.g. Killie last Saturday, they are given the entire tier and can sit where they want, without being restricted to specific parts. Last Saturday it must have been only 20-25% full? This Saturday we'll see sections almost full with maybe 2/3/4 empty seats with latecomers i.e. arriving after 2.50 struggling to find a seat yet, Livingston won't open up another adjacent vacant section.
  19. We've already secured our tickets for Saturday in Block N, but it does my head in when clubs, like Livingston, confine fans to strict sections in their stadia, despite there being plenty of space. Just checked again, and it seems that, so far, they're splitting our support up into 2 quite separate blocks, P & Q and M & N, separated by an empty block, O, in the middle. Why?
  20. Undersoil heating boiler problem apparently.
  21. Hearts completely wasted him by playing him as a lone striker with little or no midfield support. He was never the most mobile and was like a fish out of water at Tynecastle.
  22. Have faith. JBA knows we need reinforcements and they will duly arrive
  23. I did mention this elsewhere but someone replied that a potential problem is that the building has an upper storey with all the maintenance costs that entails. A fair point. However, our current hospitality facilities in the Cooper Club and Centenary Suite are out of date, sub standard and cramped. We also have Mrs Baillies. In addition, the Centenary Suite is used during the week for players' lunches which rules it out for other catering and functions, I believe. If we want to increase our off the field income then these facilities have to be seriously improved in some shape or form
