  1. The Board failed to back Alexander over the summer. That's part of the problem. He wasn't given a free rein to sign players. They failed to back him or sack him.
  2. There's no way way Watt will walk away from £5K a week. If he stays in Scotland it will be a loan deal.
  3. Most of us would agree that our midfield is a huge issue. Players like Goss and Slattery, to name but two, have regressed under Hammell and in some cases there may be other reasons for that as well. I believe that both are better players than they seem to be at the moment. However, as OTF, has said in the past its often about the mix of players in the engine room. To get the best out of individuals they have to be the right blend and play as a unit. This just isn't happening. Others may disagree, but I don't see either Goss or Slattery as No 6s, yet thats how they're being played. Slattery has a decent eye for goal and I see him more as an all rounder in the Gorrin mould. What do I know though?
  4. Tony Watt on the move again? This is becoming a habit.
  5. Not fully convinced of him yet. He's got potential but needs to beef up and get more physical (Hammy's words in part). The problem I have is where to play him. Any time he's been in the gap behind KVV he's played too deep and failed to support him.
  6. I suspect thats fairly accurate Stu. In addition to a free season ticket though ST holders were also given a year's free access to TV. We, and I include myself in that, did all right out of it. I did make a donation but now wish I'd paid more, knowing what I know now.
  7. As long as we have a replacement lined up.
  8. Not nice and I don't like it but understand it. If things continue as they are on the pitch and the Directors don't act then this is only going to get worse. Not in anyone's interest.
  9. We certainly need to change things for this game. More of the same simply won't do. How often do we say that on these fora? Even with our limited squad size, Hammell has options - maybe not all of them advisable though. Making too many changes at one time could be disruptive and counterproductive. Oxborough for an off form Kelly? Switch McGinn and Johnston? Drop Lamie and reinstate Sol? Bring in the seemingly out of favour O'Donnell? Swap Cornelius for Spittal? Swap Crankshaw for Shields? Bring in Mandron (if fit) Find a place somewhere for Tierney, but not behind KVV. Danzaki?
  10. Welcome to Fir Park Mr Davidson; we hope you enjoy your visit. What can we do to help you?
  11. 100% Yorky. Bringing in new players won't improve matters that much if they're not being properly coached and managed.
  12. Hammell selected him to start. Its not the lad's fault as he's doing the best he can, although his confidence is very low. Hammell had a couple of other options which he chose not to go with. Don't blame Shields.
  13. Ha. Yes after the starting line up doesn't work in the first half!
  14. There were a few options. Crankshaw and Cornelius in and Shields and Spittal out.
  15. I think thats a fair comment Fizoxy. Right now the society and hence our club needs us more than ever. I know the Society has its sceptics and thats fair enough. The model has its limitations certainly. However without it the fact is that the club would have gone into administration again a few years ago. So, it has, and continues to serve an absolutely critical role in the health of our club. In recent times, communication has undoubtedly improved. But, as you say the website needs a vast improvement. Its a window to the world. Have you communicated your concern and ideas to the Society as they are always looking for feedback? If not you should do so. In view of your comments thats just what I'll be doing. We need to make it easy for fans to sign up and donate. The grouse that I have is that you need to set up a direct debit to make a one off donation and then cancel it. Not everyone wants to do that. As an aside there will be Society day on 18 February (Hearts game) and there's been a call for volunteers - I hope folk will respond to that appeal for help. I would if I lived closer to Fir Park. This will include a bucket collection. Its high time we had a high profile Society presence on a matchday, but of course that depends on volunteers coming forward. I received an email from the Society yesterday and your post has jolted me into responding to it. I hope others do the same. The more the merrier.
  16. I completely forgot, we've also got the left back position to think about following Penney's departure; so thats really positions we should be looking to fill. Very wishful thinking! .
  17. Good to see Danzaki has finally put pen to paper and a warm welcome to him, but I'd still like to see another central defender and an experienced defensive midfielder - wishful thinking probably but it might help our finacial position slightly, if Shields moves out on loan to a Championship club.
  18. Depends how you define recent......................St Johnstone?
  19. I don't know if we'll get a fee for Liam Kelly to be honest, given the market for goalies. We might however get a fee a for Max Johnston, especially if he extends his deal. Other than that, KVV?
  20. Thats a very dark picture to paint. IF we get relegated and went part time it would mean clubs like Hamilton, Raith Rovers and Inverness could sustain a core of full time players whereas we couldn't?
  21. A tad negative David. You quote St Johnstone, Ross Country and Livingston as having only slightly lower averages than we do, but don't say that Kilmarnock and St Mirren have only slightly higher averages than we do. In the latter's case, it maybe because they're on a relatviely good run this season. In truth the're's not much difference between the averages of half of the Premiership clubs, although their financial models may be different.
  22. Queens Park and Dundee looking to take Conor Shields on loan.
  23. I remember seeing Benny play too. Very sad.RIP.
  24. He's 26 and now on his 6th club, inclusive of loans. A pattern beginning to emerge maybe ?
