Pah, Nilsson Schmilsson.

And in fact, I went into the office after renewing online and taking the digital option (I want my card updated) and was told that my card would be updated. The whole thing is as clear as mud and I suspect another visit to the office will be required.
-
Tough pick, I nearly went for Oxborough for the save on 45 minutes and Slattery, O'Donnell and Halliday all played well. Went for Seddon though, I think he gives a calming influence at the back that isn't there when he is absent.
-
FYI Dave, I was out and about in the region of Fir Park today so I went in to the ticket office and asked the question. I was assured that, having taken the digital option, my existing card will be updated, I will just have to wait till next season to find out if that does indeed happen.
-
It was the same for me, I went with the digital option in the end, I just hope I remember to charge my phone before each game. If you find out that adding to the card is still an option, let me know please as that would be my preferred choice.

But would you shed any tears about the 23 journeymen that replace them for next season?
-
Lyrics slightly different obviously.

You are correct, that is the instruction, and they do mostly (but not always) let the play go to a conclusion before raising the flag. My point was more that we don't know what the decision would have been in a non-VAR universe as the linesman didn't need to make a decision.
-
And another four need to be competent defenders 😁
-
I agree, mostly, with that. The exception is the offside goal, linesman (I refuse to call them assistant referees as they don't assist much) rarely now call tight offside decisions because they assume VAR will bail them out, before VAR was introduced that may have been flagged, although I doubt it given the standard of officiating. A prime example of inconsistencies in the VAR system is the Aberdeen goal disallowed yesterday because of a handball in the build up, exactly the same as a Ross County goal v us last year when we were told only a hand ball by the goal scorer would cause the goal to be chopped / chalked off. So yes, get VAR to feck. *Edit* Just watched the highlights above and it looks like for their goal the goal scorer handles the ball, so it should have been 2-0 to the good guys.

Good man, keep up the good work.

A 14 team league playing each other 4 times is a 52 game season, not 42. A 14 team league would probably mean a split after two rounds (26 games) followed by two more rounds against the teams in your half of the league (12 games) meaning 38 games total. The problem with that, well one problem, is that there are 7 teams in each half so for every round of fixtures there is a team without a fixture. Option 3 only has two bigot fests a season so there is no way that is being voted in. Personally, I would go for an 18 team league, 34 games, but that won't happen as per option 3. Whilst the league is organised to suit the arse cheeks, nothing will ever improve the product. *Edit* Sorry, didn't consider a 6/8 split. (Still $hite though)

Of course, had he been shown a yellow card for pushing Gordon into Balcombe, resulting in Gordon being replaced, (Not shown on BBC highlights), then he would not have been on the park to be sent off when he was. What goes around comes around.

Kirkie Lawson was one of my early heroes, but I've never heard him referred to as Kirkland before, I'm sure his name was Kirkwood!
-
I went with Slattery for his goals, but truth be told, there was no great standout today. Balcombe had no chance with the goals, particularly the first one. the defence in front was all over the place a couple of times though I thought Balmer did well when he came on, maybe playing in the middle of the three is his best position. The mid-field played some nice stuff at times but then gave the ball away too cheaply in bad areas and up front we were pretty much non-existent. That said, St. Mirren were a disgrace today, I was worried in advance that that would be their approach and, sadly, I was spot on with that concern
-
Has to be Dan. No great failures tonight with Thompson, Sparrow, Andrews, Miller and Armstrong all worthy of mention. The amount of work done off the ball tonight was very impressive, a credit to the management team.
-
It was also Davor that tracked Duc when their left winger outstripped Wilson and cut the ball back to Duc, when they broke from our corner. Davor made the block and the ball then spun back off Duc and out for a Goal Kick. Arguably a goal saving block. He also wins his fair share of headers for such a small guy. I wouldn't have him as a starter under normal circumstances, but I don't mind him being around for back up.
-
Fair enough, and I get that, but, a badly directed punt could have seen the ball come straight back with the imbalance of players then in their favour. I was pretty happy with the way we slowed it down.

That stat is based on this season alone, and as always stats can be made to look like anything you want. Dig a bit deeper and over the last 3 seasons, since they were promoted, they have picked up 82 points at home and 38 away (68.33%). The first year up it was 32 at home and 8 away, (80%), and that doesn't take into account any points picked up at Livingstone or Accies in those seasons. For comparison, we have picked up 63 points at home and 60 away during the same period (51.22%). Their pitch most definitely gives them an advantage, in my opinion. And yes, I am sitting at home bored, which is why I bothered working it out.

I thought we saw the last twenty minutes out quite comfortably yesterday. I sit in the Cooper and the number of shouts at Oxborough in that period to get the ball up the park quickly was astonishing, holding on to the ball as long as possible then keeping it short was working well at that stage, much better than the twenty minutes before that when the defence was lumping it aimlessly and letting them run straight back at us. Sometimes I despair at the fans "Game intelligence".
-
We started slowly today but grew into the game as the first half wore on. Oxborough had one good save at 0-0 but we could easily have been 2-0 up before the first goal. Typically, we reverted to type and gave the opposition too much respect during the second half. That said, after they hit the bar, at no time did I think they were getting back into the game and we actually took the sting out of the last 20 minutes quite efficiently. A very enjoyable 3 points. Nick Walsh should be removed from the refereeing list forever.
-
Maswanhise for me, Oxborourgh, Wilson, Halliday and Balmer all played well. Also Davor and Watt put in shifts and the work they do is much underapprecisted.
-
No need to apologise. I hate their manager too.

I don't know about pubs, but you could park at Ingleston and take the tram in to Haymarket*. It isn't too long a walk from there to Tynecastle. *(Closer tram stops may be available)
