  1. I hope so, we have booked flights from Manchester and a hotel in Helsinki Just match tickets to sort now.
  2. I'm not sure why Ewan Wilson is being picked on tonight, I wasn't too impressed with him under Kettlewell, and I presume JBA didn't fancy him either, but he got forward well tonight and linked up with Williams on several occasions, and when he moved to centre half when Longello came on he looked comfortable playing the ball out. He will be third choice behind Longello and Williams on the left, and may fall further down the pecking order depending on signings, but he looked ok tonight.
  3. An interesting, and impossible to answer, question. Coyne, Cooper, Russell, Graham, and a few others probably, all arrived at the end of their careers and contributed hugely. If you take into account signings from Junior / youth teams then Keith McRae, sold for £100k in the early seventies should be under consideration. .Joe Wark, signed from Blantyre Vic (I think) and an absolute club legend should be up there too. I could probably come up with several more given time. Money received shouldn't be the only consideration in this discussion.
  4. All in all I was pretty happy with tonight, the defence looked a bit at sea occasionally but that was mainly due to being unfamiliar with each other. I could pick a few holes here and there but given that it was a scratch, and very young team, I was pretty happy with what I saw.
  5. I went with Fadinger, mainly because I didn't spend the whole game wondering whether it was him or Watt that was on the ball. The choice was between him and Oscar but I was pretty impressed with Wilson, Reich, Moormann and Williams. No failures tonight at all, I'm looking forward to how this team develops.
  6. Spent today in Valetta trying desperately to avoid checking my phone, and caving every 10 minutes or so. Great feeling at full time. i have been trying to convince myself since about mid-February that even if we didn’t win another game then this would have been one of the best seasons I’ve ever witnessed (first game 1967) turns out I was lying to myself. Delighted with fourth, anything else would have been a travesty.
  7. It will be interesting to see if he gets more protection in a Celtic strip* than he does now, some of those challenges yesterday should have resulted in an arrest. *(In case anyone is offended, I hope he doesn't go to Celtic ,)
  8. S O'D for me, the block from Shankland was outstanding. I was surprised he wasn't booked right enough.
  9. Aye, but what about Kevin Clancy's face after Fadinger's.
  10. I don't know why everyone dislikes Wimmer so much.
  11. Craig Brown was the reserve team coach I think. I don't remember Billy Campbell as an assistant manager but he stayed in the Knowetop area and used to drink at the Cricket Club in Dalziel Estate,. A nice guy and always happy to chat about the 'Well, I'm sorry to hear of his passing.
  12. Interesting watching that, I noticed that Ward had the MFC script on his top and the outfield players had the club crest on theirs. Well, I found it interesting at least.
  13. I do, I'd quite like St. Mirren to be relegated.
  14. No great stand-outs, no great failures. Went with Just because he oozes class but I could make a case for four or five others.
  15. Will 2 at home and 3 away not give us 19 home and away over the season? We have (will have) played: Rangers, Falkirk, Hibs, Kilmarnock, Aberdeen & Dundee Utd at home times two, (12 games) and, Dundee, Celtic, Hearts, Livingstone & St. Mirren once (5 games) = 17 home, 16 away.
  16. McGinn, Welsh, Sparrow, Longelo, Just & Priestman all worthy of consideration. I went with McGinn, like a fine wine, he just gets better with age.
  17. You only have one right back in there, time for Stephen O'Donnell to force his way back into Clarke's thoughts.
  18. Not sure whether to be happy or not tonight. We could, and arguably should, have taken three points, but to get the late equaliser with ten men almost feels like a win. We were not at our best today but still gave them an absolute lesson in football. As for McLean! I have watched the BBC highlights and have no complaint about the red card, but how the f*** did Soutar get away with that challenge on Just, and why the f*** did the BBC completely ignore it in the highlights.
  19. The choice is between the goal by Welsh or the dummy by SO'D. I have to go with the goal just 'cos of the timing of it.
  20. I never think about that at all..... Except for every time somebody claims that "X" is the worst Motherwell goalie ever.
  21. Hopefully they still play "Into the Valley" before kick off.
  22. For anyone with a statistical leaning: Over the last 10 completed seasons, the maximum number of points achieved by the team that finished 4th was 67 (twice, 17-18 & 18-19); the minimum was 48 (21-22), and the average is 57.2. I hope you will all sleep better now. Given that Hibs and Falkirk are 5 & 7 pts behind respectively, I reckon 60 will be needed (but that is just a guess).
