    Well Bois

Not me, I'm an old fart in the Cooper Stand now, I love what the bois do, I just don't want to sit beside them. Oh and 53 going on 27, just to join in the other part of the thread.

    Chico Marx actually
  3. Aye but if we're going to win the league we should try and do it in style
  4. Perhaps not unexpected given our good record up there but I would have happily taken a point before kick off. Given that we played a new keeper who signed yesterday, we still have last season's central defenders a clean sheet is a very encouraging start. We also seem to have played well all over the park (if the BBC stats are to be believed) creating plenty chances, getting the majority on target whilst stopping the opposition from testing our keeper. 37 more wins and we win the league
  5. I am looking forward to criticising his lack of work ethic, particularly when we are defending and his general all round laziness Secure in the knowledge that within 2-3 minutes of me starting to moan he normally slaps in a beauty
  6. What if he is happy on the dole?
  7. My head said Rangers but there was always the nagging concern that we would bottle it and the thought of losing to them (again) filled me with dread. With hindsight I wouldn't change a moment of it

Many good candidates tonight, Erwin, Johnson, Laing, Pearson and Ainsworth were outstanding, McDonald too, just wish he could stay onside occasionally. Voted for Lasley though, covered every blade of grass and totally bossed the midfield.

Quite a few candidates for a change, MacDonald made a huge difference up front, Pearson's presence in the middle of the park allowed Lasley to play like we know Lasley can play, Erwin ran himself into the ground and Law looks much better at right back than in midfield. I voted for Long however, when Law's header was short it looked like one mistake would cost us and that save was a momentum changer, if we had gone 1-0 down the second half could, and probably would, have been very different, it might even be the point where our season turns on, not just that one game.
  10. Agreed, he was also very visible in front of the dugout after he was subbed, encouraging the team and generally looking right up for the fight. Overall a very different feeling this week from last, we actually looked like a football team this week.

    Dundee Utd

I could make a case for most of the team, then could counter my argument with a poor mistake from most of them, in the end I went for Ramsden, he was generally in the right place at the right time (and somehow didn't get booked for a belter of a foul with about 10 minutes left)
  12. It should also be pointed out the Ropy lives in Bannockburn and therefore has a 40 minute start on the rest.

    Up For It!

I always tell my wife that the cup final is fourth behind our wedding and the birth of our two children...................I suspect she knows that I'm lying
  14. Four goals, hit the woodwork four times ( five if McManus's goal that never was hit the bar twice), two one on one chances where first Ainswort then Moore shot when a simple squarepass along the 6 yard box would have produced simple tap ins, we could have doubled our score today and it wouldn't have flattered us.

Absolutely no failures today, you could make a case for just about any of the starting 11. I'm going for Vigurs, narrowly ahead of Ainsworth, when he plays with his head up like he did today you can see why McCall was so keen to sign him, plus, you could see what the goal meant to both him and his team mates.
  16. Agreed, except I plumped for Lasley. Tough choice as I didn't think anybody was outstanding. Always good to beat Hearts though, no matter what the performance was like.
  17. I don't see us winning by the nine goals that are required for that, we can dream though
  18. Shocked and saddened by this news, like a few of the other oldies on here he was an early hero who never shirked a tackle or a fight. R.I.P Peter
  19. That 4th goal showed why Bobby Graham was my favourite 'Well player of that era, sublime touch and vision
  20. My understanding is that Lawless was going to get his chance when the window shut In January after Murphy signed for Blackpool, when that deal fell through it was too late for Lawless to go out on loan and he ended up kicking his heels for 6 months. When McCall realised that the whole SPL summer shambles meant that there was no guarantee he would be a regular this season, he allowed Lawless to leave to give him a chance to get first team football. A chance he has so far grasped with both hands. Whether he goes on toa great career then who knows, but good luck to the lad.
