I don't disagree with your general point, but I do remember a mid-eighties cup semi versus the green uglies when we had the uncovered end (traditionally known as the Celtic end ). 1984 I think, the first game finished 1-1, McAllister for us and Tommy Burns with the equaliser, Willie McVie missed a sitter late on, needless to say, we lost the replay 3-0.

In the absence of a "Whole team" option I have gone with Main, but I could make a case for all eleven of the starting line up.

What a great way to spend a Saturday. Eleven heroes today, we're possibly (definitely) not the most attractive team to watch, but they put in 100%. and we can't ask for any more than that.

Curiously, Griffiths has saved the only one he has faced (I think). Not that I'm advocating Griffiths starting ahead of Carson.

I find myself agreeing with all of that. I'd loved to have seen Scott Brown try some of his pish with Peter Millar, Stuart McLaren or Willie McVie, that would have been some laugh.

Curtis Main, strength, ability and heart. No failures today but Main was a stand out for me.

Could have been one of a few, Carson, Dunne, Aldred, Tait and Main all deserve mention, but Allan Campbell was outstanding today.

I don't really care now about what was or wasn't a foul / goal, I just love beating Hearts. (Get it right up ye Levein) As to the Game, I thought Carson, Tait, Dunne, McHugh, Campbell and Main were outstanding, Kipre, penalty excepted, was decent as was Cadden, Tanner tried hard but made a couple of bad decisions on the break, Aldred possibly looked too "up for it" and made a few hurried clearances when a cooler head would have helped us keep possession and take the sting out of Hearts when they were on top and Ciftci was dissappointing. Bowman and Frear contributed in a positive sense and Rose wasn't on long enough for me to form an opinion. Special mention to the referees, I don't know which one was worse, Dallas or Naismith.

I went with McHugh in the end, not just for his goal, his protection of the defence at times was outstanding, Carson, Campbell, Tait and Main were all worthy of consideration.

You could be right, as I alluded to, my memory is pretty poor and it was 40+ years ago. My dad was from Leslie near Kirkaldy and we headed up to my Gran's every second or third weekend so my brother and I persuaded him to drop us in Cowdenbeath on route, then to come back for us at five o'clock, aged 12 and 15 an away game (unsupervised) was a big occasion so it sticks in the memory a bit more than a typical Saturday at F.
