No, if we are asked by our club to do so, I would like to see our fans afford the respect that winning the league title deserves. A bit of a clap for a minute or so. Their reaction after winning the Scottish cup, and losing the league cup doesn't surprise me, and is a fair representation of a club managed by a character like Neil Lennon. Our players and fans grudgingly acknowledging the fact that they have won the title and giving credit where it's due would be a fair representation of our club and the qualities that our manager bring to the league. As for their fans, f*ck them.

Just because something has been done elsewhere doesn't mean we have to accept it, does it? I personally couldn't give a toss about the lower reaches of the English league.

Aye, okay. It's this kind of nonsense that puts me off what's left of Scottish football sometimes. If Celtic are champions and for whatever reason the club decides that some sort of recognition is warranted, then I don't see the problem. The petty shite that floats around our game is cringeworthy.

This comparison between our league and the EPL really does my head in. There is no comparison at all, simple as that. Why our television deal, pay structure, quality of teams or whatever should be compared to the English league is beyond me. Is it because they are just over the border? Why not compare our league to other nations of similar size? Ireland? Wales? Denmark? Norway? Sky don't really need any football deal other than the English Premiership. That doesn't mean they won't want to carry our games, just like they do other football leagues. The problem I have with Rangers walking back into the SPL is the fact that it basically puts the legitimacy of the league into serious question. We know that a similar pass wouldn't be issued to any of the other ten clubs. If it happens I'll walk. There's more than enough other sports out there that can offer me better value for money and more excitement as it is. This would just be the final straw to push me over the edge.

As someone pointed out, it's the team you're applauding. They've won the title, which is worthy of recognition regardless of what's happening at Rangers. As for the fans? Who cares what they say or think? It has nothing to do with brownie points or endearing ourselves to anyone.

I'm glad that common sense has prevailed for once. As someone hinted though, surely if McCall was wrongly punished the referee in question should be questioned, and if applicable, punished himself?
-
At least McCall & McCoist were still able to share a "special" handshake after the game
-
That's what I thought as well? Or does that include the money from getting into Europe as well?
-
Ah, right, I didn't know the circumstances of the goal, just saw that we'd went 2-1 down after 88 minutes. I'm abroad just now and couldn't get logged onto MFCTV for some reason.

Those jammy f*ckers always get the result they need!

Not quite sure how I feel about this. I know the club get's some extra income from this, but the idea of season ticket holders being subjected to this lot and their shite is sickening.

It was only the weans who were on the pitch, the junior Steelmen members I think?

'rebel 10' Have Requested A Meeting Of The Spl On April 12Th
David replied to Ocelot Groomin''s topic in Club Chat
Taken from the BBC website today; What happens now? Do the other ten clubs simple bow their heads and walk away? This is evidence that a stronger tactic is needed. I'm not sure exactly what that is, but something has to be done. -
I've just stuck on a tenner at 11/8 with Paddy Power. I doubt i'll ever be as happy to see a tenner go down the drain as I will if we beat them on Saturday.
-
Paddy Power are offering Rangers at 11/8 as well. Mental.
-
It's quite simple really. If the Rangers that beat Celtic show up at the weekend to play against the Motherwell team who showed up yesterday we'll get hammered. I'd take a draw.
-
You think his final ball was good? C'mon now, it wasn't. The whole team pretty much was out of sorts yesterday.
-
Does anyone know the history of this Crawford Allan character? He seemed like he simply didn't have a clue yesterday and appaeared completely flustered during the game at points.
-
Aye, July next year. If he's really smart though he'd head for England.
-
I'm not quite sure what that story has to do with todays squad, but I seriously doubt any of our players goes onto the park against either of the Old Firm thinking "yeah, I'm going to give up my win bonus so that Rangers/Celtic can get a win". To even suggest that is ridiculous. In the past against Rangers we simply haven't been good enough on the day, which I'd put down to Rangers being a more physical side than Celtic. We've been steamrollered by them. I'm not saying that's okay, because it isn't, and we seriously need to up our game against them, but to suggest our players lie down isn't on to be honest.
-
You think that Motherwell players "lie down" to Rangers?
-
Okay, I'm not quite sure what the OP is actually on about, but I figured this as good a thread as any to turn into the Rangers game discussion thread.

I think that incident happened a few seats along from me. Perhaps the most disturbing thing about the incident I saw was the fact that on my row was an older guy being held back by a younger guy, trying to get at someone three rows in front. The seats in between were occupied by three or four kids who looked no older than 12. Poor fucking show to be honest. No need for it, regardless of how badly Hateley was playing.

Were you at the game today Steelboy? The whole team were shite.
