  1. To be fair though, if you take all the shite out of the equation he's done not too badly.

He brought in some good players, and has reached two cup finals whilst taking the league to the final day of the season. That's not why the fans are staying behind to cheer him though...

  2. So who should be our first target be? Who should we be taking out?

I was just thinking that! Not too sportsmanlike I guess, but when it comes to winning our first trophy in 20 years I'm all for it.

If I were a young player on the field today I'd look to take out Izaguirre first

  3. It would appear that even Sky are biased against Celtic as well;

Meanwhile, Celtic fans claim their clash against Motherwell has been snubbed by Sky Sports.

They're furious that their showdown has been relegated to the broadcaster's red button service on Sky Sports 4 while the Rangers game will be shown live.

The move means Virgin Media customers won't be able to watch the game.

Celtic fan Patrick Kerr, 28, of Paisley said: "Both games are equally important Sky should show both matches on different channels."

  4. Is it? I thought they were doing the ballot for a week, then public sale?

Anyways, the point on posting personal details on a public section of the forum still stands. Use the hidden section for trading/selling/buying ticket, or do business via the PM function.

If you haven't got the password, fire one of us a PM.

  5. Now that the ballot is over, could we please advise those still seeking tickets/looking to shift tickets to do so in the Scottish cup section of the forum.

It's never a wise idea to post full names, email addresses & mobile phone numbers in a section of the forum that is visible to non-members.

If you've been a regular poster, and a member of the board since Christmas then get in touch with a mod/admin for the password.

I've taken the liberty of removing all posts that display any of the above contact details.

    Cheers,

  6. theres a guy i know who has no interest in football and never been to a well game before but hes managed to get 4 tickets through the ballot for him his wife and 2 weans and the only reason he wants to go is because he works in motherwell.im no saying i deserve a ticket more than anybody else but ive been to every scottish cup game this season and the thought of missing out in a cup final is depressing especially to folk thatll be no where near fir park next season

I'm assuming that this guy won't be on any database held by the club then? Surprised he got a ticket in that case.

  7. Look, the simple fact is that there are always going to be people getting tickets who don't deserve them no matter what system is used. You can't hold the club responsible for that.

I'm sure they're doing the best they can with the situation.

Look at it this way, at least you're not a Celtic fan trying to get tickets. I know a few who are season ticket holders, travelled in Europe and so forth who have been told they aren't getting anything!

  8. Steve Jones left Northern Ireland as a 12-year-old.

Twenty three years on, the latest stop on his football career offers a chilling reminder of his childhood.

On the night the winger netted his maiden league goal for Motherwell in their 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock on Wednesday evening, Neil Lennon was suffering the latest in a string of personal attacks that have plunged Scottish football into the headlines for all the wrong reasons once again.

Everything from Lennon’s fiery touchline persona to his Northern Irish Catholic background have been touted as motives for the mindless minority to act, dragging Scotland back to a time when division was rife. It is a familiar situation for Jones.

“I was brought up in Londonderry,” Jones said. “You had to go across Derry to go shopping, you had to look after yourself. I moved across to Manchester when I was 12.

“It was a fresh start for the family. We moved for my father’s job and then my football career started.

“We kept ourselves to ourselves really. My parents didn’t like us wandering about the place, that is just how they were. I was oblivious to what the real threats were out there.

“He [my father] said leaving was for his job but, as I have grown older, I have thought to myself ‘was it a bit of both?’ It is fair credit to him. He has left a fair chunk of his personal life behind to start afresh.”

More than a fair chunk of Neil Lennon’s life has been aired over the course of this season; the touchline attack the culmination of a lengthy assault on the Celtic manager’s safety.

“It is horrendous,” Jones said. “He is a human being and he has got a family. He is just trying to do things to the best of his ability. There are always altercations – that’s the way the people are in Glasgow, it is Catholic or Protestant isn’t it? It is the same in Nothern Ireland, it is something you would think would be derailed in this day and age.”

With the Clydesdale Bank Premier League drawing to a close, the hype around Lennon may hopefully and belatedly cool. Celtic head into their final match against Motherwell in need of three points and a favour from Kilmarnock to end a tumultuous campaign on a positive note. Jones’ former Northern Ireland team-mates Steven Davis, Kyle Lafferty and David Healy will take to Rugby Park knowing they are just a win away from three in a row.

“I know them all well,” said Jones. “I speak to them regularly. They are all geared up to win it. It is all in their hands. Steve has texted me saying we have to get a point off them [Celtic]. We roomed together for Nothern Ireland and became good pals, he is a top guy. They are all smashing lads.”
