Sure, there are a few people just moaning for the sake of it, but surely some constructive criticism isn't a bad thing?
If it results in suggestions and ideas down the line, then i'm all for it.
If everyone just came on and posted "that's an excellent idea! Well done!", things would get boring in a hurry.
-
It may just be me, but I can't get anything on that link.
EDIT: It's working now.
-
Aye, but plenty of folk go to the boozer on a sunday anyway and, if I read right, other Sky games will be shown. Seems to make sense to go along there and even catch some of the game with a pint.
Like the fella said, it's better than having the place lie empty on a Sunday, isn't it?
-
Do you want us to continue with this or should we just let it lie empty on a Sunday because the screen's no' big enough, it wisnae advertised enough (even though you were all reading about it on this very forum).... sometimes folks... you just need to try something different...
We did so I suppose it's over to you. Thanks for your interest
Don't take my questions regarding the screen as a criticism mate, I was just curious.
I've not got the best eyesight in the world and just didn't fancy the idea of sitting at the back trying to squint all afternoon!
-
Why? Would you not watch it if it was less than a 50" screen? Surely the size of the screen shouldn't put you off watching a 'well victory? (unless it was on a 14" B&W portable!)
I'm not too keen on sitting in a bar watching a game that's being shown on a regular 19 inch telly thats stuck up on a wall.
Is it a big screen or what?
-
Any idea why they don't do this for games at FP as well? I know if we won a good match on the Saturday at home, I'd watch the game again if I had nowt to do on a Sunday.
There's every chance that they may do that if they get a good turnout for the away games, isn't there?
I don't think this weeks game was advertised very well, but would hope that the next away game will provide a better turnout.
Again, does anyone know what size of screen the game is shown on?
-
A fantastic idea but I can't help thinking that more thought could have gone into promoting the event.
The way I see it if you don't read these boards or visit the official website your not going to know that this is on today.
It would appear that the people running this read the board, so if you have any ideas to get the word out, fire them into this thread.
Every little helps, and all that...

With the January window bringing us the signing of Ruddy & the duke until the end of the season, plus a stable management team, it looks as though everything is in place for the rest of the season.
The question is, where do we finish?
Have you been impressed enough in recent games to see us finish top six, or maybe even top four?
Or will the arse fall out of our campaign once the novelty of a new management team wears off?
On a side note, anyone who votes for option 5 will have their email address posted on the forum and be subjected to all manner of slightly dubious newsletter subscriptions and the like
-
What size are the screen(s) in the bar?

I think it's the same for the clubs down south who have their own television channel, such as Man Utd & Chelsea.
They show the full 90 minutes of their Saturday game at midnight, don't they?
I guess attendance will depend on the result & type of game it is.
For example, if we beat Aberdeen 4-3, 2 Dons players get sent off and Muttley gets sent to the stand, i'll be there

Motherwell FC is delighted to offer fans the chance to view the full 90 minutes of every ‘away game’ starting Sunday 31st January…
31/01/2010: Aberdeen
14/02/2010: Hamilton Accies
07/03/2010: St Johnstone
21/03/2010: St Mirren
28/03/2010: Dundee Utd
11/04/2010: Celtic
The Cooper Bar will be open from 1pm with hot food and plenty of cold beer available, screening starts at 2pm.
It’s a great opportunity to meet with like-minded Well fans and enjoy a family afternoon out! For more information, contact Diane on 01698 338008.
I personally think this is a great idea.
I doubt it'll affect the amount of 'Well fans who go to away games, but it will hopefully bring in a few extra quid on a Sunday.
Ideas like this are a breath of fresh air.

If I was your boss, i'd not be too happy with your workrate

It certainly looks like it.
Well spotted mate.

Sorry for any distress that my mix-up may have caused lads!

Tonight's game?
I meant tomorrow nights game.
I'm likely going to be away from home, so was hoping I could catch the game on my laptop.
-
Not tonight but tomorrow it will be
Yeah, I meant tomorrow. My heid is up my arse today

Regarding tonights game, does anyone know if the option to listen live on the BBC will be available?

If you want an example, for year end 2008, Bolton Wanderers reduced their season ticket prices and still suffered an 11.4% reduction in gates.
I was thinking of us having done it in the past to be honest.
The Premiership is a totally different kettle of fish. Their pricing and quality is so off the chart when compared to the SPL that it's not worth thinking about.
-
If gate prices are reduced, where does the money come from to make up the shortfall? Experience suggests it won't come from extra bodies coming through the gates, as that has never seemed to work to the extent needed.
Why are people constantly saying that lowering prices has never worked?
It's never been done for long enough to get any kind of result.
Lowering prices for the odd game against Inverness or Falkirk isn't going to garner any results, is it?
I personally don't think the prices are too far off being reasonable. Like I said before, knocking three quid off the price could make a bit of difference in the long run.
I know it certainly would with me.

Attracting lost-souls back is futile in my opinion - football is habit-forming, these supporters have lost that habit and desire (in some cases) and I'm afraid the fare they watch on their TV sets is unlikely to entice them back (irrespective of price).
Forget the lost souls, we need to try and entice the 9 and 10 year olds of today to come to the ground and watch the club on a regular basis.
If the current trend continues, and football keeps getting uncercut by other forms of entertainment, what will be the result for clubs like Motherwell 10 or 20 years down the line?
We don't have the TV deals, shirt & merchandise sales or international appeal that a lot of other British clubs outwith the SPL have, do we?
If the punters who sit in the seats every week are the clubs bread & butter, then maybe they ought to start listening to what they have to say, and start trying to sort some of the problems that have arisen in the past 10-15 years or so.
I've already said that the feedback we've had from Leeanne is promising, and I hope a few cost-effective ideas can be tested in the coming few years.
I can't really understand why there are petty arguments & bickering going on over certain ideas.
Every idea should be welcomed at this stage, regardless of how viable it is. The very fact that people are willing to actually think about the matter is a positive sign.
Surely everyone who posts here should be wanting to see more seats filled on a Saturday at Fir Park?
-
I certainly wouldn't want to be the official who has to try and read your match report if your grammar on here is anything to go by.
On a serious note, the guy obviously has nothing to offer, but he's having fun stringing people along with his little hints and suggestions that he's somehow "in the know".
