  1. Problem is he won't want Squad Member wages, and more likely top earning wages, the biggest downfall.

If he's pissing around with no club, he'll take the wages offered to him or he can fuck right off.

I stand by my opinion that he'd be a decent enough player to have in the squad, but that would mean he's only worth regular wages.

  2. I eagerly await your next topic. How would the club make more money if the prices were dropped? You cant just make daft claims if you arent going to back it up.

There's a good suggestion from Juan in a different thread regarding season tickets.

To be honest, there isn't any way the club will drop prices for any real length of time unless other SPL clubs do the same, and unless they drop them for a decent amount of time, we'll see no real results.

  3. So for all you guys to be coming on here saying he is an excellent footballer is bollocks. He never has been an excellent footballer and going by recent form he never will.

Let's be honest here, if he was an excellent footballer he wouldn't be looking for a club to train with, would he?

He's a decent player, and would certainly do a job as a squad member until the summer.

  4. mate maybe am both but lets face it, we're gettin the pish ripped out us

payin price like that, at the moment am only gettin into ticket prices but theres other stuff too

Don't even get me started on the catering...

  5. Every time the club lower prices the support stays the same OR marginally decreases = the club lose money.

How long do they do this for though?

It's crazy to lower prices for one game and expect instant results.

  6. In all we have to be real here and accept that there are 4500 customers of Motherwell FC and do everything possible to get their backsides on a plastic seat every other Saturday. Failing to do so and letting the plastic seat sit empty when someone is sitting at home willing to pay for it is and will continue to be one of the biggest follies of our time.

    An excellent post there.

I'd certainly be willing to take advantage of such an offer if it were to arise.

  7. the club isn't in any position to give up loads of their match day income and past initiatives have shown that lower prices don't increase gates enough to make up for it.

Maybe these initiatives should last longer than the odd match here & there?

If games were cheaper to get in to, the amount of people going would rise.

The problem is only doing these discounted games every now & then, and not really advertising it.

  8. IMO we should reconstruct the league to 16 teams making games less repetitive. Lower gate prices to say £10 or £15 and also lower season ticket prices and give discounts for away games. Give free tickets to schools for certain games and make extra revenue from catering etc. I know this has been tried before but could be worth trying again.

The problem is, the club does reduce prices, but only for a game or so at a time.

We need to be prepared to put a deal in place where home fans get in for a reduced price, and keep it running for a decent amount of time to see what kind of results it brings.

I paid £18 to see the game today, and I was happy with the result, but there are many weeks that I simply can't afford to go.

  9. All so that Celtic can then nip in and steal him for nothing or next to fuck all, and thats all ok cause he is a Celtic fan.

He is being badly advised and McCart is a wank.

This kind of thing happens to clubs all over Europe all the time, so why should we be any different?

In fact, i'm fairly certain that there have been instances of us doing exactly the same thing to smaller clubs as well.

Like someone said, if he moves to Celtic, he'll likely get a bonus for signing, plus more wages than he'll get from us.

I can't see where he's being badly advised there.

  10. We've got two guys right here, right now who 1) WANT to be here and don't see us as a stepping stone, 2) have plenty of contacts/respect in the game and 3) know Scottish football inside and out. Why look elsewhere?

    :O

  11. I thought a thread for general questions would be quite useful.

The first port of call for any questions should obviously be the Trust website, which, although currently a work in progress, provides a good idea of what the Trust does and who's involved.

Anything which isn't answered there can hopefully be answered in this thread.

  12. Davie McEwan....... eh naw aswell. He's a fookin lunatic. LAst I heard he was at Dumbarton I think. Also made it over the water to Derry but crashed and burned. His social life gets in the way of his footie.

He always seemed to be a decent enough keeper to me.

I reckon he'd probably prefer sitting on the 'Well bench to playing in the lower divisions as well.
