  1. I have a funny feeling that we'll be looking for free agents tomorrow morning...
  2. I know we probably never get our 'number one' target but a concern for me is the number of players we've 'just missed out on' in this window (as indicated by Hammell today). For such a huge window, you would have hoped that the club would have pushed the boat out just a wee bit more...
  3. Given we need a left back, a defensive midfielder and probably now a centre back, is two enough?
  4. Or maybe that was always the level he was destined to play at..?
  5. The question is how much you trust Daws and Hammell to invest this £200k wisely..?
  6. Was the theory not that it would save us money in the long run by reducing maintenance costs for the pitch..?
  7. Interesting. As someone said in another thread, is this a year with no season ticket income coming back to bite us? I would ask is this two CBs on top of the one we've already signed or two including Blaney? If finances are that precarious then it is a difficult decision for the board. Do you gamble now on the basis that relegation would make things even worse? But sadly throwing money at it won't guarantee staying up so it really would be a gamble. Glad it's not me making the decision...
  8. Have already brought in one CB this window and I'm not convinced he's any better than what we already had. Are you expecting another two?
  9. Noticed this on twitter earlier. Interesting that it comes from a journo covering Norwegian football rather than a Scottish source.. EDIT Just beaten to it..
  10. One shot on target in 90 mins vs St Mirren. Time for the manager to go...
  11. I know conditions weren't great but based on last Saturday, McGinn will not do a job at left back. Either play O'Donnell there as he's looked more comfortable than McGinn did or sign a left back. If Hammell thinks McGinn at left back will do, he should get his jotters... If we are to do more business this month then the priorities should be • A left back • A defensive midfielder Any talk of another central defender is wishful thinking...
  12. As fascinating as this is (and I hate to be that guy) is this not the Ins & Outs thread? Unless we're signing someone from Darvel...?
  13. Who's the one more 'definitely' in the pipeline?
  14. If the guy has ability, I don't care how tall he is. What I would say is that he is relatively inexperienced. I'm hoping that we are also able to bring in some experience and leadership in some of the business we do this month. I'm aware this is easier said than done but the likes of Tom Aldred was signed in January, there will be players out there available simply because they're surplus to requirements at their club but that could do a job for us...
  15. I don't disagree with the second paragraph here and much of what you said. But changing the manager may make a difference. Alexander came into a Robinson squad that was capitulating and made them hard to beat (yes, and hard to watch). Hammell seems unable to set up a team to be hard to beat. There may be other managers out there who can...
  16. Must confess to doing exactly the same thing. Last night I was googling Cillian Sheridan's age last night when I saw him playing for Dundee. Like you with O'Brien, my first thought was 'how old is he?!?'. Turns out the answer was only 33...
  17. Interesting to read Burrows on twitter saying that they're hopeful of having 'a few' new faces to announce soon. How many is a few? In at least two of them, I'm hoping for leadership qualities as much as ability. Although obviously both would be nice...
  18. Paul Keegan, pizza maestro... What I would say is that since those transfers the gap between the Irish and Scottish leagues has very much narrowed...
