I don't disagree that this is as far as we would expect to get but having seen the team that put us out, I've seen us beat better Old Firm teams (granted also seen us scudded by worse teams) so there's a degree of frustration at what might have been. Having said that, I've seen us lose 3-0 to Airdrie at Fir Park. Puts it in perspective a bit...

McGinlay may not be great (and should have conceded a pen himself) but he's playing as spare man in a back three, probably not a role he's played very often. As a left wing back, he needs work but Carroll started last season slowly so you never know. I know who I blame tonight and it's not Nathan McGinlay...

McGinlay and Lamiie may be poor players but need to look at the two 'experienced' players tonight. That performance from Gallagher has been about his average this season and O'Donnell has been dreadful tonight. I always say that if a player doesn't have the ability, criticise the manager for picking them. If a player has ability and doesn't perform, criticise the player. Not a massive fan of Robinson but tonight is on two of our more experienced players....

Playing a lot better than last Thursday in terms of shape/defending only to then lose a stupid set piece goal. They look technically better than us which goes for nothing at 0-0 but may take its toll on us at 1-0 as I reckon they'll be happy to keep us chasing the ball and tire us out..

Has it been confirmed where we will play on Thursday given Israel's lockdown? I had seen talk of Cyprus mentioned but haven't seen anything set in stone?

Can people please stop putting Hastie in their lineups? I suspect we'll end up with either McGinley or O'Donnell dropping into the back three. I suspect O'Donnell.. Looking at Carson Gallagher O'Donnell Lamie Grimshaw Campbell O'Hara Polworth McGinley Long/Lang Watt Which I'd be fine with...

Nature of the Scottish Premiership. Most teams don't have the brilliance to unlock teams. It's about waiting for the opponent to give you an opportunity and taking it. Too often this season teams have been able to wait for us to give them their opportunity and taken it. Nice to see us turning it on its head...

Do you even watch football?

A career in a spiral sees Ross McCormack sign for National League side Aldershot Town. Wonder if they'll get more than two games out of him..?

He only scored one...

If players are generally of a similar level which in the SPL they are, team who plays more midfielders controls the game...

Don't think he's helped by Lamie at full back. Clearly Lamie is rated higher than McGinley by Robinson given we took off the guy playing left wing back to stick another player at left back. McGinley wasn't great tonight but he looks less likely to actively sell a goal...

I agree with you that Maguire deserves a shot either in midfield or defence but 442 is dead...

By no stretch Bevis the biggest problem in the team. Or even the biggest problem in the defence..

Before you want to jump all over my post accusing me of having a go at Robinson, maybe look at my follow up posts where I say it's not necessarily a bad thing and I was just pointing out that out as someone had said all the money was going directly to the club...

Selling Campbell right now makes financial but not football sense. If Donnelly had not got injured, we could perhaps get away with selling him and going with a midfield three of O'Hara, Polworth and Donnelly. Problem is (as it is now with Donnelly injured) that leaves us with three recognised midfielders (given Robinson has made clear he doesn't think Maguire or Cornelius are ready and doesn't see Grimshaw as a centre midfield option) so you don't have anyone putting pressure on the guys in the team. Robinson started the season with five players he saw as first team central midfielders. We've sold one and have one out injured til at least January. Could be argued we need another centre midfielder for cover at least just now, not to be selling another one...

I don't know. Like I say, I only heard this last week from someone close to the club but it could be bullshit. Speaking about our form in general, this individual stated that 'Results keep going as they are, he might just walk away. He got his commission from the Turnbull deal'. It wasn't like this person was going out of their way to tell me this. No reason for me or this person to make this up. They say they get on fine with Robinson.. Will it show up in club accounts? I have no idea. Maybe under bonuses, agents fees, commission? To be honest, I don't have a huge issue with it. Maybe all clubs do it, maybe given our model is to develop and sell, this is a form of performance related pay...? I only raised it because someone said that all the cash was going to the club...

Nope. Around 8% was the figure I was told that Robinson gets of any transfer fee. Could be bullshit but reasonable (and unbiased) source that told me...
-
Are you sure about that? Heard talk that Robinson gets a percentage of every sale we make...

Hope that Hastie comes good? So you're wanting to persevere with a loan player til he finds form but you've decided that McGinlay is not a player who'll go up and down? People need to accept that bringing Hastie back was a horrendous error...

Question is, do we switch to a back four to get Lamie out of the way even though the 352 keeps our shite wingers out of the team? Do we shift O'Donnell into the back three and play Grimshaw and McGinlay at wing back? None of these options are fantastic. We need to try and figure out the lesser of all the evils...

When is Charles Dunne back?

Is everyone else not getting astream now?

The number of goals we've conceded hasn't been huge. Conceding 1 goal to Hamilton, Dundee United and Ross County isn't terrible at all. For me, the issue is goalscoring. Not sure Halliday would help with that. Having said that, on the basis of this season, I'm not sure that Hastie would help with that either...

I would be going with Carson Gallagher Mugabi Lamie O'Donnell Campbell Maguire Polworth McGinlay Lang Watt I know that this won't be the lineup though I don't know if it's a million miles away. We all know that Long and O'Hara will start, irrespective of form or suitability for the game...
