Motherwell 0 St Mirren However many goals we give them It depends on how you look at our season. Does Robinson getting us to where we are in the league without a striker/winger worthy of the name deserve credit? Or does he deserve criticism for leaving us with such a lack of options? I tend to give him credit and assume that none of our forwards were his first choice. I have not seen enough of Aarons or Watt but the rest of them are not good enough...

Yes, it happens and if you goalscorers in your team, you can turn the corner. Too often at the minute, we're relying on the opposition goalkeeper throwing one in or spilling one...
-
That's zero points tonight then.. EDIT That worked...

Ilic played for the reserves the other day. The signing of both Aarons and Watt suggests that Ndjoli isn't living up to expectations...
-
The fact that it continues to happen and players don't get dropped suggests to me that the manager wants our full backs to tuck in...
-
What was that for? I assumed an equaliser...?
-
Who has just scored...
-
O'Hara in for Campbell. Ndjoli and Watt on the bench. Seedorf and McIver nowhere to be seen...

Failed to score in three of those five games. One good goal against Dundee, one deflection, one GK howler and at Aberdeen a set piece. Where are the goals coming from?
-
I expect us to lose on Saturday.. Feel as if we're in a rut and can't see where our next win is coming from...
-
Expect a grim end to the season. Not sure where the goals are going to come from. I would say set pieces but our delivery there has been poor as well recently...
-
Let's hope he has an Alan McCormack rather than a Ross McCormack (2nd time round) style debut...

Fair enough to go with your own system and not change the way you play too much to suit the opposition. But if the idea of Gallagher and Hartley going man for man with Griffiths and Edouard doesn't give you the fear, you're a braver man than me..

He seems so far out of the picture, it's not true. If he's out of contract this summer, I expect he'll be released...

More concerning is the lack of chances created than chances taken. People discussing the number of wingers we've signed, but clearly none of them impressing Robinson if his first reaction to a poor first half is to revert to 352. Thankfully we have points in the bank which means we're safe...

This is the concern going forward...

Is Johnson not a left back now?

I agree that Scott's versatility is useful. But if we sell him and bring in a replacement, I'm hoping not to hear the phrase 'he can play anywhere across the front three'. Every striker we've signed this season has had that description. Would be nice to sign someone that is an out and out striker...
-
If Scott leaves, our options for centre forward would be Long, Mciver and Manzinga. Not fantastic.. EDIT Forgot Ndjoli. But he looks more like a winger if anything...

Middlesbrough being linked so I doubt it. And we need someone who can play through the middle...

As others have stated, anything north of £1m is decent for James Scott as he is just now. I think if he'd scored a few more goals this season, we'd be looking at double that As others have also said, you'd hope we have a replacement in mind if we're willing to do business on the last day of the window ...

I was saying when I saw the lineup on Saturday that my concern was that I didn't know where a goal would come from. When I saw how the game was panning out, I figured we would only score from a worldy or a set piece. There was little evidence of the guile or movement required to create clear cut opportunities. And so it panned out.. I've been going to Fir Park long enough to have seen us lose countless games like Saturday 1-0. The fact we didn't is a sign that we are at least doing something right. That's five clean sheets in the last eight league games. We've only conceded more than two goals in a game on three occasions this season. Pretty good by Motherwell standards. I bring this up because I've read a few comments that Grimshaw had a poor game on Saturday and that a new right back is required. I would admit that he didn't have his best game against Hibs but even saying that, the mistakes that led to Hibs best chances didn't come from him. He's an easy target, perceived as a midfielder converted to full back. Is he Cafu? No, but he's part of a solid defensive unit and does a job. We've had far worse full backs and will have again...

Devante Cole signs a permanent deal with Doncaster. Explains why Wigan took him back as they had someone willing to pay a fee for him...

Went for Donnelly, range of passing was impressive, although whole midfield played well. Interesting to see a couple of votes for Gallagher. Not saying he had a bad game, but he definitely put us in bother a couple of times by being casual...

I said on here that I thought we'd lose this one. Glad to be proved wrong. Speaking of proved wrong, it's noticeable how important Liam Donnelly has become to our team. No coincidence that two of our poorest home performances this season have come when he's been unavailable (thinking of Aberdeen and Accies at home). As others have pointed out, Long's injury is a concern. A lot of weight on James Scott's shoulders...
