  1. First 10mins i thought we were really good. Came flying out the blocks and were a real threat to Kilmarnock. At that point i was expecting/hoping a solid straight forward win as we were miles the better team. Pen, was it a soft one? On my viewing i wouldnt have been going nuts had it not been given, maybe a replay will show it to be a stone waller but at the time i just thought thankyou very much ref. After that we really went flat which was a shame. Some crazy subs as well worst one was bringing on another defender to invite more pressure for last 10mins. Players wise, thought Dom was our best asset/biggest threat. As someone else noted, he did shoot straight at defenders too often. Still, cant really get annoyed at a Motherwell player actually trying to score which is a nice change. Skippy was honking. He did try, but he wasnt up with the pace and his passing was woeful. In truth, he should have been first off and never seen 90mins. The boy with the beard and geordie shore cut, kennedy? was good at the back, deserves to keep his place. Laing is not a right back. All in, some poor play but a few encouraging performances and above all, a wins a win! COYW!
  2. Im trying to work out if this is a clever comment from you or if mcgeady did say this with more than a hint of sarcasm?
  3. They were. We scored their first for them and the second one only happened as we sent the keeper up looking for an equaliser. They didnt really look like creating anything themselves
  4. My mate is the biggest Dundee United happy clapper you can get, and he said they were dire on Sunday. Hoping that we can really make a good start to the season here, tough run on paper but it sounds as though we brushed aside last years 3rd best team and cup winners with comparative ease, so hopefully we have nothing to fear with the rest of the league........
  5. With the heat in Cyprus, those trainers will be reekin........
  6. Fuck it, after last season we can now afford to be optimistic, at least before a baw is kicked! 4-0 to the 'well based on nothing!
  7. I wouldnt put too much faith in what one of their fans said. Could have been the steelboy or Dewell of QOS
  8. Since when was that a steelmenonline prerequisite for judging playing ability??
  9. With Lionel suspended for the first two games, Dom might have the opportunity to put in a real claim.
  10. That is probably a very accurate way to describe it. The reality is, we don't know the quality of these guys coming in and we don't know if they will settle and bed in. We could all get excited thinking we are getting 6 Marvin level signings in! However 6 Josh Laws wouldn't get us top 6 and 6 Stakers.......... Going to be interesting seeing what Barraclough can do though.
  11. 2nd is probably getting ahead of ourselves, but given the form we have shown since February, added to Barraclough getting a summer to get his ideas ingrained and new signings in, I don't expect us to be in the bottom two next season. Now that might be wishfull thinking......
  12. Barracloughs planning on winning the league remember
  13. Without getting ahead of ourselves, would be funny if Barra put together a team who could put in the best challenge to Celtic and left Aberdeen in our wake....... Again
  14. No email for me and i bought the season ticket 3weeks ago. Paid in full.
  15. Punted by Dundee was he? Christ
  16. When Ainsworth is on, he is one of the biggest weapons anywhere in this league. Barraclough just needs to work out how to get consistency out of him. If we can get him, it will be a major plus IMO.
  17. And our form against Rangers was shite until the playoffs.
  18. A few years back Sweden had an away top with a "diagonal stripe/sash" on it and it was a belter of a strip IMO
  19. Not sure if he ripped anyones defence apart last season??
  20. Aside from the fact that he's close to done and was punted by St Johnstone, I can't see him fitting into Barracloughs style of play. Its obvious the manager wants to play the pressing game and utilise pace to break teams. As much as I love Faddy, I'm not sure he's what we need.
  21. Barraclough said last week that Skippy loved it here but had plenty options. He then said if theres a chance of getting him back we will pursue it.
  22. A bit disappointed to be honest, not that we are losing someone who has been superb, but that we are losing someone who has shown real development in the last 6 months. Compare his end of season performances with those when he first started getting regular first team games and you can see the progress the lad has made. I reckon another 6 months to a year playing for us would see his worth increase dramatically. Regardless, he helped us stay up so all the best Lee.
  23. Still love my canterbury away pin stripe number from a few years back
  24. I noticed yesterday that the Accies pitch is currently being dug up. It's only a year old, maybe these things only have a short shelf life.
  25. Loves it or not, i imagine in Aberdeen come in and offer him and extra grand or two a week, he'll be offski
