Who did you boys (with the drum contact?) My A-rab mate says the security head at Tanadice is an arse that tried to ban Craig Whyte masks for home fans when they played the Rangers. Reckons he wont last if Thomson realises hes costing united money. Is there any way you or even Motherwell FC could try contact someone higher up the tree? Might russle some feathers..... Also tweet about it to a few journos who are currently sticking it to SPL chairman, ewan murray, Cosgrove etc. It might raise some awareness
-
I see Thomson saying there is no sponsor in place for next season which means a £2m loss for the league or he says £150k per club. Of course the fact that no sponsor was lined up ready to sign if we went to 8-8-12 or whatever it was, matters not a jot... Apart from Thomson being a walloper, it us a worry knowing we are another £150k down without a ball being kicked

McGowen is on a different level to the St Midden stars of past& present who have stepped up to the 'well. He'll be heading down south i expect. Shame as would be a nice replacement for Law.
-
See even if we didnt have a split, do you think our fixtures would be better? Remember we are 2nd in the league, scoring goals& have a certain Faddy. We are a decent draw for TV
-
Does top 6 fixtures start next sat?
-
Fuck that, you can stay at home and look at decorators photos. Group stages are the next step for the 'well......
-
You'll be back for the group stages anyway
-
Going out with the brother in law afterwards who is a St Midden season ticket holder. I really hope we pound them.
-
It was Radio Scotland. I heard it on open all mikes. Basically they said 'he wants to go back down south'. Never said if they had been told directly by the player, heard it in the media circles or read it.

Something which I think sometimes get lost is that McCall seems to want to build us an attacking attractive team. Look at the players we have, look at the number of times this season we have been scoring 3+ goals. Yes, we have been conceeding as well, but its refreshing to see a team go out to try and entertain. Compare that with the dross served up by Scotland under Levein, or the multitude of teams in the SPL that just don't want to lose. By all accounts McCoist seems to still be playing 1 upfront in division 3. Maybe its McCalls philosophy or perhaps its part of the Motherwell business plan to get fans back to Fir Park. Im certainly enjoying it this year, probably the most since McGhee's first season. I get as pissed off as the next fan when we get beat, but he number of times I've come away from Fir Park absolutley buzzing for days due to not just a victory, but the manner of the victory is pretty good. Im thinking Aberdeen, ICT, Hibs etc. Those sorts of performances are what we need if we are to attract fans back. Guess what Im saying is I can accept McCalls points that the Brazilian raises because they are more than made up for with not only a winning team, but an entertaining team. Mon the 'well!

Its an interesting question and a problem Im sure McCall will be happy to have. Carswell has really stepped up in the last couple of months no doubt about that, but can we leave our captain and one of our better players on the bench. *Was about to write the captain and our best outfield player, but that all changed a few weeks back*
-
Indeed, but most of the tripe you post is cringeworthy. We are all Stuart McCall!
-
Brilliant news, we are all Stuart McCall! Guess that means postie jim wont be back at Fir Park for another two years......
-
Maybe its when they have time off from training since it is an international break.

I can't imagine Gannon is the type of character that would just come back to us. Anyway, McCall will hopefully sign his deal this week, infact when I win the £90mill on euromillions the morra, I'll put an extra £50k onto his contract, and also offer Randz a warchest to stay.
-
Haha, just read the thread on a celtic forum. Fuck me, leaving aside pictures of him pumping gas cookers, a pro footballer doing drugs. Jesus. I take it hes not got a contract lined up anywhere? Get him to fuck away from our boys!

What was he putting up?

True, but you dont go week in week out. (I know you did for a long time). You dont now, which is why maybe you would like to see a cup win more than continued level of success and on the whole good football. In much the same way as different age groups have different perspectives, im willing to bet different levels of attendees do as well. Someone who gets to 5games a season wont have the same feelings about 'doing a st mirren' and watching annual relegation dog fights and turgid fitbaw as someone who is there every game. Please dont mistake this post as a 'which group of fans is better type post', its certainly not intended as such. Just pointing out that perspectives may hinge on variables other than age. -

No arguament that the competition is poorer, but we haven't dropped in relation, the way the competition has. We can't say its all because we have a great manager, since we have had 4 managers in a 6 year spell. I would suggest, and some of the moaners on here won't like it, that the board and club set up as a whole has been superb and allowed us to blossom. The youth set up, the budgets, the physio, Im guessing the training regime has all combined (along with the managers and players) to give us this great team. Its just a shame that the current set of boys won't be winning a cup, hopefully some we re-sign and get one next year. Whilst it was good to see a non OF final, and St Midden winning a trophey, it was also gut wrenching knowing that our team would have wiped the floor with both the Midden and Hearts on Sunday, but ah well, thats football! -

No chance, dire football, annual relegation battles& no european adventures. The wifes entire family are all Midden fans, they had a great day yesterday but they haven't had the 6 years we have just had. -
Get the pitchforks out. McCall must go despite getting us to a cup final, 3rd in the league last year with Champions League football and now sitting pretty in 2nd! Out, out, out, out!

Girl at my works leaving night tomorrow so I struck up a compromise. I go to her leaving night as long as we can go to a pub showing the game. Im not over the moon about it but I have worked with her day in day out for 7 years now.
