More worryingly than the manner in which we scored the goal was the fact that for the remaining 89 minutes I don't think we sent anything at all at the Aberdeen goal! I agree with you here that McCall likes to keep it on the deck and play football, that much has been obvious in the last 2.5 years. I hope you are correct in that it will come in time. I also hope you are correct in that we match up well against ICT and Killie.

I usually like to be in the half full camp, but I have to agree with BigColin here. I haven't seen anything yet to suggest we offer anything going forward other than a high ball over the top. I can't see any creativity and craft to break down the opposition. Hopefully everything clicks this weekend, but I expect us to get beat.

Agree with that. A winger is not going to help us drive at teams through the middle the way Nicky Law or Ojamma used to do. A winger, if he's half decent will provide us an out ball. If he's good then he'l be man marked in a couple of games and back to square one. The reason we were so good last season was that aside from Lasley and Higdon, all our middle to front players were creative flair players that could make things happen. Mark Humphrey and Faddy, no problem, Law and Ojamma stepped up and used the space. With the greatest respect to our new signings, I can't see them doing the same.

For all the Aberdeen plaudits, I reckon our team from last season would have murdered them today. Doesnt mean anything, Aberdeen may well turn out to be the second best SPL team this season, but theres noway they are superstars

Big ball over the top, end of story. If thats the case its going to be a long season ahead. Possibly made harder to take having watched last seasons all out attacking team. Change of tactics required! On the positive side, i liked McCalls interview. A real rallying call, write us off at your peril! I trust McCall, but please Stuart, lets start attacking. Gunnar had a good game lastnight, but Hollis kept a clean sheet at Easter Road. McCall has said Hollis will get his chance and based on Easter Road, he doesn't deserve to be dropped. If he fucks up then we get to see a wee run at what Gunnar can do, but until then Im happy enough for Hollis to play.

He will obviously be linked with the job. Ex Rangers hero and manager of the year in Scotland. To be honest, he deserves to be linked with a big job. However, there is no point worrying about it. If Rangers come in for him, and if they meet the compensation valuation and if he decides to move to them, then there will be heehaw we can do it about it. Im not sure he would actually want to go at the moment given the civil war that appears to be taking place inside the Ibrox boardroom. I would much rather we lose him to England when the time comes, but he's going to go, probably sooner rather than later given the level of success he's had with us. Enjoy him while he's here, 'We are all Stuart McCall!'
