I didn't think Roger Hynd was THAT bad TBH. He took over a team that was in the relegation zone and ended up just missing out on Europe. The following season we had a terrible start and RH was quickly sacked when we were still in with a chance of surviving to be replaced with Ally who quickly decided that the whole squad wasn't good enough and played virtually the youth team for the rest of the season. We then took 3 long seasons to win promotion again. Sure Ally was a likeable guy but I think his best days were behind him in 1979. RH was never heard of again! I think Jock Wallace was our worst manager BTW.

Not much been said about this potential trip, even before last Thursdays disaster. Heard the club would be charging about 600 a head if we make it through, but obviously are keeping quiet about it until after the second leg. Also heard a certain pub might be organising a flight/bus/ferry for considerably less. All speculation of course, but if we get thro on Thursday, it doesn't leave much time to organise.

Official crowd for hearts game was about 3,500. Seemed a lot more than that to me as well, two big mobs either side of the fence. We were definately bottom of the league before the game.

Only ever went on the BWB a couple of times in the early 80's. The one that sticks in my mind was at Easter Road at the start of 80/81 season in the First Division. We started off at the back of the old terracing opposite the main stand before being moved behind the goals. Think we lost 1-0 and ended up in a running battle over the railway bridge. Good days!
