Whether you agree with the rule or not, the fact is that St Johnstone, St Mirren and Dundee have all knocked us out the cup in recent seasons. Gretna beat them all and were unlucky to lose the final. The rules are set down at the start of the season, so good luck to them IMO. We'll just have to finish 4th now. And there's also the Fair Play places.

Highlights are definately on a St Mirren video. Can mind watching said video about 15 years ago when I lived in that area. Maybe somebody will upload them.

Think the cheaper version is the smaller sized paperback with smaller print and more pages. That's the copy I have. Nice pic from 76 cup tie against Hibs inside.

Read his book last week, Fallen Idle. Very interesting stuff with a couple of chapters devoted to his time at Motherwell between 1975 and 1978. Some good and bad memories of certain games. Sounds like he was some character. Well worth a read, I think.

On an Irish note, Drogheda in 1996 was a good one for me as well. Game was on a Friday night and had been drinking non stop since leaving Bellshill on the Thursday afternoon. Also the fact that we watched the game from the club inside the park didn't help. Stayed in the same hotel as the players and took some great pics of Martin, Falconer, Lambert etc. Ended up lost in Drogheda but somehow managed to get a taxi back to the hotel. Woke up next day minus my camera! Finally arrived home on Saturday night via Dublin, Holyhead, Bangor, Liverpool. Great trip.

Too many to mention but this one sticks in my memory. Tannadice Dec 31st 1983. Went up on train with a group of smartly dressed lads. Drank about a litre of vodka and coke. Ended up being very sick in a bog in the Wellgate Centre. Eventually made it into ground with about 10 minutes left. When the players went off at the end I thought it was only half time, was left in the ground masel getting some very strange looks from the OB/stewards. Took me about 3 hours to find the station. Think I made it home just before the bells with a terrible hangover. Was a bit drunk in the Alamo yesterday also!

Sorry, could be wrong. Just found a 5-2 league win at home to Airdrie in season 1961-62.

One of my favourites has to be 1976 cup game against Celtic. 2-0 down at half time going on 4 or 5. 3-2 win with WP scoring the winner. Main stand full of Well fans goin mental. 25,000 at FP, pitch invasion at end. Was 9 at the time and will never forget that day
