  1. I had concerns before a ball was kicked this season dave about our lack of squad depth and mccall's tactics nothing has changed.

  2. Its the old quality or quantity debate Dave ,do we pay a wee bit more for quality players [Law,Jenno,] or do we bring in 4or5 squad players .When everything is going well and the squad is injury and suspension free the quality option is fine. But when injury strikes or players go of the boil your in trouble.
  3. For all we were bad i honestly thought st johnstone weren't that much better ,they packed there defence and made it difficult for us but as an attacking force they looked no better than us ,the 3 goals were if we are honest Motherwell blunders. The game was a complete bore from start to finish.
  4. Lawless, Smith and Pollock were all missing today.
  5. Humphrey, one of the worst Motherwell players ive ever seen.
  6. Tae go to Celtic park and create nothing you can to a certain extent understand that ,but to lose 0-3 to a St Johnstone side missing 3 or 4 first team regulars is inexcusable. The whole team with the exception of Law was rank rotten and Lasley ,Higdon ,Murphy and Humphrey were posted missing once again. It speaks volumes about our squad that players can play crap week in week out and still keep there place in the first eleven.
  7. From twitter......The U19s returned to winning ways with a 1-0 success over ICT at Bathgate. Hetherington, with the aid of a deflection, netted the only goal.
  8. SONS new boy Ross McKinnon hopes to make his mark at the Rock. As reported in last week's Sport Scene, McKinnon arrived at Dumbarton from Motherwell along with St Mirren stopper Dominic Kennedy. The defender agreed on an initial 28-day loan period but his stay at the club could be extended. And now McKinnon hopes to break into the first team but knows it won't be easy. He said: "I am looking forward to playing for Dumbarton. I am looking to get a place in the first team and get games under my belt. "I know I won't just walk into the team. I just want to get a run in the team. "It was between Alan Adamson and Gordon Young at Motherwell. "They had a meeting and said that Dumbarton would be a good club for me to go to." And McKinnon was in no doubt Dumbarton was the club for him after ex-Sons star Nicky Devlin, who joined the Steelmen at the end of last season, recommended it to him. He added: "The boys from Motherwell who have played at Dumbarton said it was a good club to go to. "Nicky Devlin said they were a good bunch of lads." Ross has followed in the footsteps of his uncle Rob McKinnon who plied his trade at the Well for four season and picked up three Scotland caps in his career, McKinnon revealed the left-back was a big inspiration for him. He added: "He was a big influence on me. I used to go and watch him training and I also watched videos of him playing as well. "It was good to have him as a role model and someone to look up to."
  9. Clarkson on loan from Bristol City Brentford have signed Bristol City striker David Clarkson on a one-month loan deal. The 26-year-old Scotland international began his career at Motherwell and scored 57 goals in all competitions in 251 appearances for the SPL club. He moved to Bristol City for an undisclosed fee in 2009 and has scored 11 times during his two-year spell. Clarkson will be available for Brentford's League One clash with Preston North End.
  10. One of Murphy's failings is hes always posted missing in the big games.
  11. If were going to be honest Forrest was the motm on Saturday, Murphy got a bit to do before he makes the Scotland squad ahead of him going by Sats showing.
  12. Jenno on Celtics second goal, quite interesting. Ledley’s strike which made the scoreline 2-0 was particularly infuriating for the midfield grafter, who appeared to be impeded by Gary Hooper, allowing the English striker to play a vital part in the goal. “The ball got played in to Hooper and he’s stuck out his arm and caught me in the face. “I had the same kind of thing happen from him down south, and he knows how to do it well. “He definitely caught me on the chin and there’s not much more I could do. I definitely have to say it was a free kick. Just watched the goal a few times and have to agree, noticed Hooper glancing over his shoulder ,see if the linesman was giving a foul?

Dunfermline didn't pose much of an aerial threat during the game tbh Dave so the jury's out on that one.

The defence looked solid enough against Dunfermline with Clancy fitting in well ,we've no old firm games on the horizon so i think we will be ok against the diddy teams. Big problem is if we get an other injury ,I'm i right in thinking were allowed to make an emergency loan signing if injuries limit our squad.

    No way will page start.
  16. Eh naw they widnae, massive gulf between under 19,s and first team ,massive .
  17. Sad thing is we like the rest of the "diddy teams" have just got to lie down and take it in the teeth, as kmcalpin says were fighting a big part of the establishment ,most of the media, police, stewards and match officials will be celtic or rangers minded ,were always up against it home or away. Can we do anything ,complain to the club but what can or will they do ,boycott the fixture ,who would care and the media would paint us the bad guys anyway.
  18. Spot on, Keith on a bad run of form at the moment, three winnable home games coming up time to drop Lasley give Forbes a chance .
  19. Well that was my first time at Celtic park in over 30 years and outwith a cup tie I wont likely be back, a hapless display from a Motherwell side and the police and stewarding during the match was shocking. I was in the Oak bar before and after the game and spoke to a few decent Celtic chaps but most were tossers .One guy didn't want to discuss the match all he wanted to know was who I wanted to win next weeks old firm match, But the beer was good so not a totally wasted day.

Problematic paperwork mentioned on the official site ,hope this doesn't go tits up, nah what could possibly go wrong.
  21. Any well fans going tae a pub near the ground for a pint before the game if so which one.
  22. Jambo at work says that Jeffries and Brown weren't overly impressed with the big man before they were sacked, wondered when Motherwell were going to send along the real John Sutton. I always liked Sutton good hard working player who could grab 10-12 goals a season. But not that good, he hit a purple patch in the latter part of last season which was the reason Hearts signed him ,his form prior to that was why we were keeping our options open.
  23. I'll be going to the tattie bowl tomorrow for the first time in many years so its a certainty we will win ,shame most of you wont be there tae see it .Mon the Well 1-2.
