Glory In Scotland Awaits Pellegrinio
postiejim replied to west coast eagles well fan's topic in Club Chat
PERTH Glory midfielder Adriano Pellegrino will fly to Glasgow next week to try and seal a dream move with Scottish giants Celtic. The 25-year-old midfielder, who won Perth's Most Glorious Player Award for the 2007/2008 season, will head to Scotland to trial with Celtic after Glory's Round 24 fixture against Wellington Phoenix. Glory owner Tony Sage revealed Celtic's interest in Pellegrino in The West Australian on Saturday, adding the club wouldn't stand in his way of a move but had held the trial off for Perth's busy upcoming period. Sage said: "He's asked if he can go on trial and we've said yes but it has to fit our time frame. "They had wanted him over this week but he would've missed three games so we said no. Now he's scheduled to go after the Wellington game." The Glory owner added if Pellegrino failed to win a deal in Scotland, he was expected back for Perth's Round 25 clash with Central Coast on January 31. The West Australian also speculated SPL club Motherwell were interested in Pellegrino's services. -
JORDAN STILL ON WELL RADAR Tony Hesketh insists Motherwell still retain an interest in Lancaster City's leading scorer Jordan Connerton, despite Jim Gannon's sacking. Former Preston boss Craig Brown is in temporary charge at Fir Park, and the Scottish Premier League outfit were ready to tie up a deal for the teenage hot-shot. "It was Jim Gannon who was the driving force behind taking Jordan to Motherwell, so when he went it looked like everything was back to square one, but they are still on the scene and monitoring him.

Think you'll find that were more interested in slagging players ,rumours and innuendo than finding out who two genuine french trialists might be. And that doesn't necessarily mean they are internationalists or world cup players just because they're Frenchies.
-
Don't know if its been mentioned but the beeb site has an interview with Craig Brown in which he mentions two french trialists.

I will say the same about Slane and O'Brien as I said about Gannon when the rumours started, if they don't want to be at Motherwell[for whatever reason ] let them go were better of without them. We've lost better players than them over the years and survived.
-
Here is the gaffers thoughts. "I've heard rumours to that effect but Paul has been ill the last couple of days, genuinely," Brown said. "Hopefully he will be back today and we can have a chat with him. "We haven't had any contact from Celtic Football Club and I do think that they would have the courtesy to phone and say to someone in the club that they were going to put one of our players on a pre-contract. "So I would think it's most unlike Celtic. I would think that's the rumour factory in operation."

Tranmere, Motherwell join Fenlon hunt January 6, 2010 Pat Fenlon’s stock continues to rise with two more clubs reportedly interested in securing the services of the Bohemians manager. Fenlon is seen as the favourite to take up the reins at Dundee United having been given permission to speak to the Tannadice club. But the Arabs’ Scottish Premier League rivals Motherwell, who parted company with former Dundalk boss Jim Gannon last month, are also interested in the 40-year-old Dubliner. And English League One side Tranmere Rovers are also in the hunt for Fenlon, who has won five League of Ireland titles in seven years as a manager, including back-to-back titles in two years as Bohemians boss in 2008 and 2009.

Your not wrong there Milo Celtic have been taking our players for years now, mostly for peanuts .
-
Wasn't in the squad for the bounce game against Bellshill ,that might have nothing to do with him leaving and more to do with him being injured mind you. As has been said hes done nothing in a Well shirt as such but Celtic must rate him .

Elsewhere, Hearts have joined the race for out-of-contract Motherwell winger Jim O’Brien. Aberdeen boss Mark McGhee wants to land O’Brien either in the transfer window or on a pre-contract deal for next season. Well have also indicated they want to speak to him about a new deal. However, Jambos have spoken to O’Brien’s representatives about a pre-contract deal for next term

"Hopefully Hibs will be a great platform for me. "I would not rule out going back to England one day but I have landed on my feet only six months after I left Scotland. "I am happy at Hibs - this is a better club than Brighton with better facilities. The infrastructure is as good as the big two in Scotland. "I am here to challenge Graeme and Yves for the No.1 jersey. I predict Smith will be the next in the recent line of calamitous hibs keepers .

St Mirren skipper John Potter says he would not be surprised if Buddies boss Gus MacPherson makes it on to the managerial shortlists for the vacancies at Dundee United and Motherwell. During his six years in charge at Paisley, MacPherson has guided the Saints from the lower reaches of the First Division to consolidated SPL status and also a Scottish Cup semi-final place last term. A hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kilmarnock gave the Buddies the perfect start to 2010, and Potter admitted it is a concern his gaffer could be on the radar of the Tannadice and Fir Park boards. Potter said: "If Gus is of interest to the clubs with managerial vacancies in the SPL at the moment then that is because he has done a good job at St Mirren over the years. "I'm sure there will be interest in Gus as he has done a great job, but I hope he will want to stay here because, as a group of players, we believe that under his and Andy Millen's guidance, we can push on and reach the next level."

SOCCEROOS defender Craig Moore has been thrown a World Cup lifeline, with a short-term move back to Scotland on offer as early as next week. Moore has been asked to join Scottish Premier League side St Johnstone - returning to the country where he spent a decade with great success. The 34-year-old wants out of Brisbane Roar before the end of the A-League season to maintain his fitness to ensure selection for Australia's World Cup squad. Moore's former Glasgow Rangers teammate Derek McInnes is manager at mid-table St Johnstone, and said he wanted to sign the defender on loan during the next transfer window, which opens tomorrow. ''He [Moore] has indicated he is thinking seriously about it,'' McInnes said. ''I hold him in very high regard.'' Moore, who is in the Middle East with the Socceroos squad preparing for the Asian Cup qualifier against Kuwait next Wednesday, said: ''I don't know where I'm going to be, but there's every chance I will be away in January … the club has been supportive of that.''

Interview in today's record seems to indicate Craig would like the job ,personally I would have no problems at all with this appointment ,after Malpass, McGhee, and Gannon we need a bit of stability .And Craig and Archie aint no mugs they know the game ,players and have contacts.
-
You called it right mate early doors as they say.
-
Most fans were ok with McGarry, a few like myself didnt think he was good enough but thats just par for the course some players you like others you dont .The guy couldnt be faulted for his effort he always gave 100% .Well fans arent any worse than other fans when it comes to booing players or the team.
-
Pleases this one that's for sure.
-
As I said joe i might be out of order not knowing all the facts, I can put my hands up when i get it wrong and say sorry unlike some who still pig headily believe McGarry and O'Brien are football players.
-
No sorry not buying into this crap Ive been working outside all week in these so called hazardous conditions as have many others .Cancelling looks like an easy option, i could be out of order here not being privy to all the facts but come on Motherwell .
-
The game at Fir Park on Saturday has been postponed. The pitch is fine, but two of the stands at the stadium are out of action due to the icy conditions. A new date will be arranged in due course. [from accies site not our own ]

Motherwell support was great on Wednesday, a Jambo workmate said we were like the barmy army.
-
The problem with McGARRY is hes useless, i was really disappointed to see him in the squad last night ,I also thought JOB was totally ineffective some nice touches but his play goes nowhere and brings very little end product. Jennings and Hatley were our best IMO.
-
Think the club has done well appointing these two, they bring with them a wealth of experience. Welcome aboard guys.

I would have went for Reynolds but like some have said he might be away soon, Craigan and Lasley have had there best years and shouldn't even be in the frame, so its someone else for me.
