Sorry but that’s just total bollox for two reasons....... 1. Logistics meant that if your weren’t on the team plane or any of the previous two ferries then you weren’t going. Unless you know someone that was running a bus! 2. I know a lot of Well fans that barely earn minimum wage but sacrifice a shitload in life so they can buy a season ticket, take the kids to Fir Park on a Saturday or drive up tae Aberdeen on a dark pishy Wednesday night. I suppose cos you went to the faroes that makes you a better fan than everyone else. Don’t talk shite!

I think we might need to play the match at Hampden as I cant think of anywhere else big enough if we get someone like Gandzasar Kapan in the draw -

Would make the draw more interesting but I dont see how the original drivers for having the pools will have changed. They wanted to avoid part timers having to travel from places like Malta to the North of Finland with little or no fans and little or no revenue generated for the clubs to cover costs. There is also no centralised TV deal to cover the qualifying rounds so probably no money from that either aside from the little you might get for local rights. I remember reports in the 90's about how Europe almost bankrupted one of the welsh clubs!! -

Dont anyone get their hopes up for a trip to the sunshine of the Med even if we do qualify. The first two qualifying rounds are always drawn in pools so that you dont have far to travel!!! We would be in the Northern Pool if we qualify and last year that looked like this: Belgium Denmark England Estonia Faroe Islands Finland Iceland Ireland Latvia Lithuania Luxembourg Netherlands Northern Ireland Norway Scotland Sweden Wales Here is how the split looks on a map: -

Must admit I thought the same and I'm sure I read that UEFA had agreed for 2009/2010!! -
Its a shame that after all the effort of the last few months to look and act like a proper club we have gone right back to square one!! Its not the fact that the club has broken its contract with sponsors or even not holding the awards night that will annoy the most but its the sham of a statement from LD with the expectation that we will just nod in agreement and thank her for (finally) leting people know whats happening. If the club have not got enough shirts and no night was ever pre-booked then they have known of this situation for months so why wait til a fan raises the question before telling everyone? Forget the SPL but is there any other club in Scotland not having a POTY night?

Dont forget that they are talking about the UEFA table finishing at midnight last night! We dont know for sure if thats when the SPL stop calculating our national league and I think its a safe assumption that all games in the season might be included. The other comments about how we didnt get any bookings in the last two Scotland games are not the full picture as UEFA dont just deduct points for bookings but they award them for other criteria such as positive play, respect for your opponent, respect of the referee, behaviour of the crowd and all the team members and officials. Now on that basis many other countries may have scored points for Champions League games, etc and we may have been deducted points for the behaviour of those two Rangers @rseholes that were on the bench giving V signs!!! Makes you start to think that this is not as clearcut as it sounds......thoughts? -
I know as a club we get a lot wrong but surely this is commercial suicide!!

I must admit that I thought UEFA had agreed to the change this season and that is why there had been so much talk of 5th place getting into Europe....... -

Just so we all know the rules: Norway head UEFA's interim Respect Fair Play ranking, which takes into account UEFA club and national-team matches up to and including 31 December 2008. Three UEFA Europa League places In the end-of-year table, Norway lead Denmark and Scotland in the race for three extra places in the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League first qualifying round. The standings are drawn up from all European competition matches from the period between 1 May 2008 to 30 April 2009. Minimum 25 matches For the intermediary ranking, only associations having played a minimum of 25 games are taken into account. This cut-off point is calculated by dividing the total number of UEFA matches by the number of national associations. Criteria changes The UEFA Executive Committee endorsed a change to the criteria for allocating the additional places reserved to Respect Fair Play winners in next season's UEFA Europa League. As defined in the club competitions regulations, the three places in the UEFA Europa League will automatically go to the three best-placed national associations in the Respect Fair Play ranking, provided they attain an average of 8.0 points or more. This means that contrary to previous editions, there will not be a draw to determine which two national associations will have the right to enter an additional team on top of the outright winners. Delegates' assessments The Fair Play assessments are made by the official UEFA delegates on criteria such as positive play, respect of the opponent, respect of the referee, behaviour of the crowd and of the team officials, as well as cautions and dismissals. Domestic Fair Play winners The three associations which are allocated an additional UEFA Europa League place will be entitled to enter the club that has won the domestic top-division fair play competition. If this club has already qualified for a UEFA competition, the second-placed team in the domestic fair play ranking may be entered and, should they also have already qualified, the third-placed side would be considered and so forth. It is even possible for a team that has been relegated to the second highest division to qualify for the UEFA Europa League, as a result of its exemplary fair play conduct during the domestic championship, provided of course that they hold the mandatory UEFA club licence. -
Absolutly spot on and these comments should be "bound" in a nice folder and handed to the SFL as the strategy for the future of Scottish Football. Ditch the SPL shite and streamline the organisations that run our game and as Weeyin also pointed out, we may lose out on some places in Europe but we already lose out on 2 every year by having the old scum take them. I look forward to the day we have a decent scottish league without them and I think we will be a lot better off as a nation if we could actually relocate them somewhere else as well!! In other words, they can F@CK OFF any time they want

Thats last years ya numpty The last one to be published is already upped here somewhere and Scotland are in 3rd place with Well the team in Scotland that would have got the spot if nothing changed. On 30th April the final table will be released by UEFA and only then will we know for sure but there is still a chance as Aberdeen and Celtic are probably still ahead of us but if they have already qualified then the spot goes to the next team in the Fair play league who hasnt qualified by any other means. Fingers crossed eh -
Sorry but hadnt come across the exact numbers the way you have managed to find them. But I know for a fact that you are talking sh!te that only 2 or 3 people contacted the club regarding refunds on the Monday and you seem to reckon that upto 200 people wanted refunds after being affected by the weather. The point remains that another SPL club looked after it's own when Motherwell didnt give a toss! Dress up the numbers anyway it makes you feel better but Killie still managed it under exactly the same circumstances due to the weather and were probably more out of pocket than MFC would have been (even after Caley splitting it)

Glad you were there countin so for the sake of a few hundred quid then you think the club morally did the right thing?

Just a shame that all the rest who were told to come down on the Tues/Wed were then told to buggar off. Great positive press.....................
