Niall, this is what baffles me because the UEFA website has us down as having played 51...... -
Klimpl as well but its nice that three/four names are all in the hat for the MOTM as before Xmas we struggled to find three/fours players who had a half decent game.......

And there is a lot of comedy gold in the Compost corner section where it belongs. And it was a roll n sausage with fried onions so tomato sauce wisnae even an option

I have just spent approx 4 mins reading through this thread to come to the conclusion that I really couldnt give a toss about any of the content and have just wasted those 4 minutes :( IMHO none of this should be under "club chat" as its all internal whinging from a small subset of fans and is as relevant as me starting a thread to complain that I've "just spilt broon sauce down my new well top" and although thats about a 'Well top - does anyone give a toss? PS. does anyone know how to remove a broon sauce stain :(

We're In Line For A Uefa Place Just Now........

Been trying to understand the rules on this one and understand it that the top 3 countries in this years UEFA fair play award all are certain of an additional slot in the new Europa league. But, and this is where the confusion starts, only matches in UFEA competitions actually count and as Scotland have no teams left in Europe and our Internationals are in a FIFA competition - how can we score any more points??? -

The Fair Play entry does not go to the team next in the league but the next available team in our own fair play table for the SPL that hasnt qualified by any other means. Therefore, we could finish in the bottom six or even be relegated but if we are top of the Fair Play league for the SPL and Scotland gets the extra spot then we still go into Europe. So Malcolm must never get another start, Quinn needs to start anger management classes asap and someone needs to have a word with Lasley!!! -
I know it's not a popular statement but I have to agree with that comment and it's not about us being the bigger club or any sh!te like that as we would have to accept that such a rule could impact us as well if FP were unplayable (again). Seen it mentioned in the other posts that games were postponed in the 60's/70's for 29 times but this is modern football and if the rules are changed to state that you have "x" number of times to play a match at home and if you can't do it then it's switched to the away venue. None of this bollox about neutral venue's etc and if its in the rules then you know that when you sign up to play in the tournament.

Didnt Italy do that because they had won the World Cup with that squad and wanted to ride their luck or sumthing like that?
-
Just international games now that stick to the 1-11 rule as UEFA now use the squad numbers and have bowed to the marketing men (for instance it means that only one man can appear in a red Man Utd no 7 shirt - so to protect his CR7 brand!)

Yeah heard the same re the weather from family up there. Quite mild thru the day but still freezing all night and the garden is rock hard. Shame........

Clarky has the makings of a true Well legend

Don't forget we need to see wins today for Rangers, Celtic, Caley, St Midden and us of course.......
-
Dae you think they were better at cheating than us?
-
Wellfan1984 - totally agree but it was less than 12 months ago they opposed the change in Scotland and see below for the sort of statement thats still appearing in most places. "The winners of the Scottish Cup also qualify for the UEFA Europa League. If the winner of the Scottish Cup has already qualified for Europe via their league position, the UEFA Europa League place is allocated to the runner-up. If both Scottish Cup final representitives have qualified for Europe via their league position, the final UEFA Europa League place is given the SPL's fifth placed club" This seems bang upto date as it talks about the Europa League!
-
4th place is certain of a spot in the Qualifying rounds of the new Europa Cup (or whatever its called) as UEFA has abandonded the Intertoto cup and our co-efficient in the rankings was high enough to see us get another spot. We also still have the 5th spot available through the scottish cup so there will definetly be 5 scottish teams in Europe next year. Have still not read anywhere about whether or not UEFA still oppose the runners up in the cup not being given the UEFA spot and the team 5th placed in the league going instead. So it is still open that if one of the top four placed teams win the cup (and we don't ) then a back door for fifth place could be up for grabs. Anyone know for certain about the runners up not getting in Europe still being opposed by UEFA. We need to know this now as IMO its still all to play for.

I second that and would be disappointed if we dont take the three points

Never seen it before but then again I have never seen any daytime TV before! Pretty sure its a repeat though as it opens with the statement that he successfully runs his own football club (cue video of him at FP siting in the stand) and that he also owns his own Airline (cue video of him strolling off a Zoom plane). Unfortunately he successfully took both of those into administration............ Not gonna argue though that he must be doing something right cos he is still worth a few bob!
-
Andy J - dont be too hard on yerself as I think you were more frustrated than wrong. We are all gagging for this to happen but with the weather hanging around the freezing mark for at least the next 7 days do you honestly think this will happen next week?
-
Funny seeing wee Tommy with the cross for Rangers goal!
-
Just startin again on C4 +1, so have set the sky+ to tape it and will watch it later. Lookin at the description below IMHO this belongs on this forum and not Compost Corner as it gives us a chance to rate the bloke at the very top o' the tree. His abilities are as important as anyone else at MFC............ "In the second series, multi-millionaire businessman John Boyle visits would-be entrepreneurs working in a variety of sectors. He observes their problems and offers advice, tough talk and support."
-
Yer havin a laugh I assume?
-
Luv that line, this is the same bloke you have spent all year calling a useless, cheating, blind, F...ing, orange tim w@anker!!!!
-
Andy J - appreciate where you are coming from and I spoke to friends in Aberdeen who said the same as yourself about how mild the weather was today but they also said that the grass in the garden was still rock hard and the ref that did the inspection also knows that you need more than a day to rid the ground of that level of frost. No team whether professional or not should be risking players on that type of surface. Like you though, just want to now get this one out the way!
