It's also far too close to get a suitable let replacement in. Had this been the summer I think he'd be going for 500. But with the sell on and the fact we would be weakening the team the fee has to be a lot higher. Even 750 is not worth taking in my opinion.

Tanner was carrying a knock and we were up against a physical Hearts side who are going well. Played 2 up top, so only real place for Tanner was the left it right wing. I can understand fully why Robinson went for the midfield he chose in today's game given what was in store. I wouldn't expect to see that every week especially when Frear is fit.

Agree we need to win this. But it's not our home form I'm concerned about. We need to win this with two hard away game upcoming, as mentioned above. Amazingl we've only played 4 home league games since our last home win on 30 Sept. Hibs, lost Celtic, draw Dundee, draw Accies, lost That said, after Hibs/Hearts away, we go into a 3 game home run against Partick/St J/Killie where I'd expect to pick up points.

Yeah, said it elsewhere also. 3 at the back works well for is in the main. However it restricts some players. Cadden and Frear, both do their best at wing back but they are not as effective as they are when playing as a winger/wide midfielder. It's probably restricting opportunities for MacLean as well.

Accies are ripping up there pitch and changing to a hybrid I hear.

Yeah, I'd agree with that.

Rose is a decent enough player. He wins headers and will do the running and cover as asked. But that's about it. He has the odd flurry of good attacking play, but also goes missing for large parts of games and generally plays well when the team plays well rather than the other way around. He's not the type of player who will change a game. For me he's just not good enough technically as a long term option. I thought he had a good game yesterday though.
