  1. I happily take the point, but it was great. Great effort by most, some players however let themselves down... again. Our Strikers were hopeless today against an even worse defense. Would have been a disgrace, if we didnt manage a point against a very, very poor Celtic team. Player of the match: Probably Jim.
  2. Thats not far from reality, cos Clarkson is in the squad as well
  3. We just need to wait another 10 years. My wee cousin back in Germany is 7 years of ages and hell of a player already and received his first offer to play in the youth for our Hometown Alemannia Aachen (german 2. Bundesliga). He is a natural left footed player and somewhat speed, agility and technical skills. My Uncle refused to let him go... yet He has been training last year with the Motherwell boys 2 years older. You couldnt see a difference, even thier managers admitted
  4. First of all, I dont mind you having your opinion. I have my opinion. And I do stand to my point. Consistently good player? I dont think so. I said before in various threads, that he can have good games and score goals and I do appriciate the goals he scored and yes, I can see he has improved, but from which level to which? imho its an improvement from being a crappy player with no skills to an average striker with little skills and having him as an important player maybe says a lot about the team Motherwell has the now. I stick to my point: Clarkson is an average striker. Kind of player you find hundreds in Scotland. Although probably not as team-bound as Clarkson is. At this point of Clarksons carreer, he should be much better to be great player. As for your Kenny Miller point: Have you seen Millers goals against (poor) Forfar??
  5. Thank you, at least someone who agrees I am missing the "next step" by Clarkson. People say he is still young and stuff, but he is 23 already, when does he want to improve? When will he turn into the player everyone thought he would be? If Clarkson would play for any other team, he would get pelters as well and people would laugh at him and question his ability. But again as you said, it wasnt about Clarkson alone last night. About Sheridan: Somehow I do like him. You can see he can do damage to teams, yet he doesnt gel with the team yet.
  6. Yeah, right. I hate to say it, but when will people realise that Clarkson is just an average striker and nothing more. He scores the odd goal and thats it (50 in about 240 games tellls you everything). Everytime he is more or less the main striker, like know, he doesnt deliver. He doesnt perform, when he has too. His first touch is by far the worst of any striker and the SPL and he can only use his right foot. God knows, why he plays for Scotland... ANyway, he wasnt the only one, not getting passmark.
  7. Terrible ball by Clarkson in the St. Mirren Box which lead to the counter... Not many passmarks today though...

    Clarky - 50 Up!

Remarkable achievement for a young player like him and congrats, considering his age. Dont want to spoil the party buy mind you: if he would be 3 years older, it would prob look different: 239 games and 50 goals? A goal every 5 games, and roughly 9-10 goals a season for a striker is nothing really worth to mention. Having said that, he is on a good run and hopefully keeps it going!
  9. Clarkson? I mean, he scored but apart from that nothing much imho. And he luckily scored with a miss hit. Klimpl followed by Buzz
  10. I guess its like any other player: He wears a Motherwell strip and if he shows the commitment he has now I dont have a problem. His contract is up, there is nothing we can do.
  11. Potenial certainty that this is the "Thread of the month"
  12. You could be right there Wanted to show him Hamilton Palace
  13. Mh, I know there there where problems, but I personally neveer had any. Its def not as bad as it was when I was younger. Too much to go into details as of why problems where there and stuff.... I have been grown up in an area with lots of Turkish families and must admit that I honestly enjoyed it. I am still in touch with lots of Turkish friends. Most of them are nice, apart from the odd people, but that wasnt down to being Turkish, Russian or even German. As for his language: I sent an Email to MFC, just in case Semih needs a hand and a fellow German to help him getting settled No reply yet.
  14. Was lucky enough to have a wee chat with Semih on Saturday, in German of course He really seems like a very nice guy. His dad was over as well (I assume it was his dad) and another guy which I think was his agent. @Mitch: As for his look, Sounds funny, but it was easyfor me to spot him, esp with his dad. I am grown up with lots of Turkish pals and as soon as I spotted his dad, I knew the other guy was Semih, who my gf spotted first . May I add that Turkish hospitality I had in German, was the best ever! Everytime we met at my pals, his mum prepared the best food ever. I loved her Lahmacun. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lahmacun
  15. The fact the MMcG did only play with 1 striker wasnt the problem. Its the problem that Clarkson was the lonely striker! He can not play this kind of striker and he should know that. As a single striker you needot be able to control the ball and pass it, surely 2 things that Clarkson lacks off. He looked much, much better in the 2nd half.
  16. I have tried to find out a couple of things about Semih, esp in Germany but there is hardly anything special to say apart from him being tall. Only thing I saw is that Semih has been playing as an attacking midfielder, central mind you... Reading through old Frankfurt Threads made me realise that many people thought he is (was) very talented and few were gutted to see him leave. Esp since Frankfurt needs young players coming through. He played for the Turkish U17 but then opted to play for Germany (who wouldnt ;-)) By the way: I can pronounce his name
  17. Mh, can I get my tickets earlier at the ticket office?
  18. I said I love him and its getting more and more... Only thing is: We allowed him to go down for a medical, right? So we accepted the Cardiff offer, that wouldnt be a great way to deal with Cardiff, would it.......... ahh, who cares
  19. Afaik he wasnt allowed to join Rangers. Yes, he went in a huff but still played for us and scored goals. Yes, he joined a team I dont like, but he played for the Well til the end and apart from that: If Motherwell would have refused the transfer he would have had to stay and since Motherwell allowed him to go, we really cant complain, can we?? Esp since we got a healthy some of money...
  20. Sorry to see him go, but as previous posters stated: He has been honest all times. So from that point of view and considering the money: Thank you Chris! I really do hope he will make it in Cardiff! Actually I really liked him!
  21. They just said on Clyde1 that St.Mirren is about to sign up Steve Smith from Rangers on a Loan deal. Surely, there must something available for the Well???
  22. Tahts now becoming a real joke, isnt it?
  23. Next too all other players who were out... couldnt say it was for Clarkson alone. Dont get me wrong, he can run down defenses, has his good games and goals like the one against Dundee Utd come from nothing, but I simply dont think he is that special.
  24. I am probably the only one who thinks that Clarkson is an average striker who has his good games. imho he has got nothing that makes him special. His 1st touch has been and is still woeful and has his left foot only there to stand on. Yes, he fights and runs, but that is something that everyone should do. Dont get me worng, I appriciate every goal he scores and I noticed he became stronger, but I dont know why he is special....
