  1. i think its time to go..............i love my seat in the east, but it really is a shithole even leaving the ground after every match takes an eternity i also think, where possible, the club should try to involve the fans when building a new stadium - or certainly be careful if they decide to go into a joint venture with the council where there will be other inputs......as Cloudy mentioned, we don't want to go down the same road as Airdire or Hamilton we have a small(ish) hard core support, which IMO is slowly dwindling, i dont think it would take much to push more away
  2. i'll always buy it - just because im in the habit of doing so! i dont always read it from cover to cover and to be honest, i would probably prefer an online version i'm absolutely clueless when it comes to web hosting / websites costs etc and im not even sure what the best format would be for you but i'd happily pay £4/5 per year subscription fee if it were to replace the actual hard copy. you could even have it in a forum format where others could discuss (or more likely argue knowing what this place is like!) what the "columnists" have written how much money does this place generate from advertising? does it cover the costs? could you do it on facebook or twitter? im guessing you probably could - but that way more "morons!" are probably going to see it, and like suggested above - it could lead to people being offended, that was why I thought if it had its on wensite - where you charged people a subscription then they agree to not being offended in the T&Cs!!
  3. do you honestly think that when we play like this, we are getting the best out of the players we have? when we play like this, Higdon is isolated - he gets no support from his colleagues (even though you are saying, we will push to a 433) he then starts to get berated from the stands for not doing much if we play like you suggest, then IMO Higdon should be the focal point - he shouldn't be running into channels - he should be staying central and be letting the 5 midfielders do the work/running and when we have the ball - we need to play to his strengths. And by that, I mean getting good deliveries into the box.(but we dont do that!) Its all fine and dandy, keeping the ball and working it out wide - but see when the ball is out wide, get it fired into the box for Higgy - that's how we score goals. Not working it out wide - then cutting back inside, working it across the box, then back out wide to repeat this ten fold. again, playing like you suggest, and Oj is one one side and Hump on the other..............if Oj has the ball out wide, Hump should be coming in at the back post to support Higgy and give us another option/target in the box. Can you honestly say this happens? I'd be happy if we worked it out wide and if something wasn't on, cut back inside work it along the box and had a shot from outside the box from one of our midfielders - but that doesn't happen either! As soon as we cut back inside, lay it back to the full back or along the box, you are letting the other team get men behind the ball and ultimately reduce our chance to score and the threat we potentially had has gone. Im beginning to sound like MJC! On that note - 2-1 Utd, Daly, Russell and Higgy for us!
  4. totally agree - and it pains me to praise anyone related to that mob, but the best example of this in Scotland just now is James Forrest
  5. for me, and not only in this game........we need to play Higgy and Henrik as a partnership. Its how we get the best out of Higdon, and Ojamma is the only player who seems to take a gamble and go beyond Higdon it does leave us with a problem in midfield - but thats the managers job - to work out how we get the best from the players we have!! i'd like to see us go back to Law on the left, Humph on the right, Las in the middle with someone he can forge a partnership with. We've had numerous players in that "other" midfield position, but none have looked convincing! Can Ramsden play there? he looked a little more composed on the ball than others did when we played the holding role against Celtic, but i'd rather see him at CB Can Carswell step up to the mark? I'd like to think so, but he needs to be given a run of games to show what he can do Can Hetherington step up? has had a few ups and downs, and in the last couple of games he played, he gave the ball away far too many times for my liking! Can Hateley? IMO NO!! He should be ushered straight to RB and told that is where he is staying!! For a team who promote youth as a selling point, and try to promote from within - we need to start giving these younger guys a chance. Carswell for eg - been on the fringes of the first team for 3 seasons now, started only 8 games. Whilst I fully appreciate, Jenno and Las had a fantastic partnership that got us into Europe....this season, one of these guys should be stepping up to the plate. Not rejigging the team and playing players out of position. The only game that Carswell has started this season, was Levante away! Hetherington is in a similar position only played 2 games. I'd like to think, that with McCall being a CM himself in his playing days - that he would be able to add a little bit extra to these players Anyway - i've went off on one!! Roll on saturday and fingers crossed we can get back to winning aways against Utd - no doubt Daly and GMS will be back and United will get their first win in a while!!! Just our luck!!
  6. he needs to be left sided but more importantly, so that we keep possesion....................... he needs to be able to cut back onto his right foot
  7. im the opposite! ive got money on us for 4-2 (66/1) and 3-1 (20/1() SIWY
  8. sounds like one from Burniston!!!!
  9. i agree with you here!!!!!!! for me, its the McCall factor!! we have to change the way we normally play against them go for it from the off - and i think you could persuade me that we have a chance!! normal stand offish and respect tactics - and i fear we will lose!
  10. that whole quote puts the fear into me!!!!!!!! the only way i can see us winning this is to attack from the start, go at them and show no respect but i've been to way too many games against this(that) mob to know we dont normally turn up and ive been to waayy to many lower league games where we've had an early exit! hateley out of midfield, OJ, Murph, Humphrey and Higgy all to start - and we might have a chance!!
  11. or because Rangers aren't in the SPL any more they need to replace those games with other games, in the past its never really been an issue for us because it was always Rangers / Celtic games that were moved). If we still want / need the money from TV then unfortunately this is what we have to put up with (we're obviously not the only ones) small away crowd - yes (first away game this season i am missing) even smaller away crowd for Inverness in a few weeks (and that will be the second away game i will miss) i give up alot of other things so i can go and see Motherwell play - if im getting the chance to save some much needed pennies on fuel and ticket prices, i'm going to take it. I do agree with what others have said though, the SFA/SPL/Club Chairman need to decide what they want........punters through the turnstyles or money from TV..........its slowly becoming one or the other, both doesn't really work think this has draw written all over it, 1-1, higgy for us - and i'll be happy with a point (for those who like a bet - my predictions are rubbish, go for a high scoring game!!!)
  12. as much as i agree with the above.................I am firmly in the MJC camp!!! however would be absolutely delighted to be proved wrong and have it shoved down my throat!!!
  13. Adams spoke publically about it - he said that there was an offer, but Riordan needs to be realistic about his expectations technically - i would take him, he can create and score and is good with both feet, probably better than what we have putting that up against his off the field antics and the potential to destroy our current harmonious dressing room - a defo no no anyway - theres no way we are looking at him, we have McHugh, Daley, Henrik as attacking options who cant get in the starting 11 until one of our attacking players leaves (i cant see that changing in the near future) we wont be signing another one!!
  14. but it isnt one of those teams............Rangers at Ibrox is totally different to Rangers at Peterhead or Brechin or Annan I would love us to beat them - and you can take that in a total Kevin Keegan style manner id you want! - but I want us to go there and win, and that will mean alot to our fans after years of bending over and taking several sore ones for us to win - we need to play our strongest team and play to OUR strengths if i were to turn up to Ibrox and see Holliis, Page, Angol, Carswell, Hetherington all starting - I would be furious
  15. everyone seems to think Aberdeen aren't scoring - we'll beat them, they haven't conceded at home either this season yes we are top of the league on merit, we've got the points in the bag - but we've been far from great we've also enjoyed a relatively "easy" start to the league - the next run of 6 games sees us play "more difficult" opposition i would be happy with a point from Aberdeen, a point from Celtic and a win against Rangers - thats the big one for me! someone mentioned that the cups help us more financially than prize money - whilst I accept this, is that going to be the case this year? in years gone by, Rangers and Celtic would be in the semi final meaning the money gets pooled between the 4 teams if Rangers dont get to a semi this year - who else is going to take that many fans to Hampden to drive up the gate money? anyway - 2 draws and a win in the cup!! and i will be very happy
  16. professional performance from us should see us win...........but we cant take anything for granted hopefully the players take confidence from putting 4 past ICT
  17. big buff doing a Laudrup style shimmy, cutting inside and lashing one home from about 30 yards into the top corner!!!!! big man was a favourite of mine also - was lucky enough to play against him on the astro behind Fir Park one day - he still had it!!!!!
  18. they probably do, but the corner they give us is more than adequate the Alexei Michealichenko game was the biggest Motherwell support I have ever seen(been part of) at Ibrox
  19. i think i tend to agree more with Ya Beezer and Sieb, than I do with Jay!! however, I do agree with jay when he says This is a decent Rangers side that would probably be about mid-table in the SPL at the moment. But that's it. The idea that we need to fear them because there's a Rangers crest on their shirt is absolute nonsense. we need to believe in our own ability and that's going to be McCalls toughest task here due to the drubbings we've taken in the past "this is the weakest team they've had in years" - but we still lose!! As for Jig, you only have to look at what Foran did to the youngsters at the weekend.........bit of savvy and a bit of bullish tactics is enough to get you the one up manship you need to win individual battles. As for the Kerr / Hateley RB spot.........that game you refer to Sieb, yes Templeton ripped him to shreds but he certainly wasn't helped by workshy Omar Daley playing in front of him that day And to the guy who suggested we'll receive a red card - im putting a £1 on that!!!!!!
  20. thats the problem though, 99% of all media releases say they were voted out, so the hoardes now believe that eg - theres a guy on here who wrote a piece for a Football Manager forum, albeit overall a good read but he talks about Rangers and how they were voted out of the SPL its not the tie i wanted - far from it, but we must go and play OUR game - attack them and we will win, have the mentality of Brechin / Peterhead - go at them. If we dont, and we play our cautious approach, like it or not, they have the players to hurt us and dare i say it, more clinical than our players
  21. as above........... did anyone hear the story that, if Rangers were drawn at home in any cup games against SPL teams, he was going to charge £1 to get in and £14 for a programme? his thoughts being that he hopes all the fans would buy a programme so Rangers get the money, but dont need to split it? Rangers fans may still boycott - so we dont get any money, i know it has to be agreed between the two clubs - but he might say £25 to get in, The Rangers Season tickets holders in for free no doubt we will agree to that!! will be interesting - in recent years, cup games have been £10 / £15
  22. Accies away please - they really are terrible dont want rangers - home or away, someone else can have them. Was the story about Charles Green and £1 entry to Ibrox cup games true?????
  23. Dundee Utd did it for Goodwillie - and fair play to them thompson said what he wanted, had the baws to stand strong even when £1.5m was offered - he still stood strong and got what he wanted we need to do the same, let clubs/media know what we want and stand strong until the offer comes. if the offer doesnt come, fine - we've kept a good player the last thing i want is to accept an offer on the last day then we struggle to replace him
