    Everton

i heard the committee only found out on twitter!!
  2. what do you want him to say? reading between the lines - although he never signed the contract we offered, he never rejected it either anything that he says, it probably going to be negative against MFC - so why do you want him to come out and say something? if the rumours are true, that the contract was withdrawn due the rangers fiasco..............IF he had signed, we would be in a much worse financial situation

    Everton

there seems to be an "issue" with paper work - so nothing concrete as yet
  4. i think you are right John - my concern with that is hateley, has always performed better at RB than he has in CM............however, under Gannon, he always came deep and looked to pass the ball from the back rather than the GK launching it up the park. That said, it was always 3 in the middle. I'm more comfortable with him playing in a 3, than a 2. the downside with playing 3 in the middle is that it leaves Higdon isolated upfront himself - and that was torture last season. Higdon plays a million times better with a partner
  5. jakeball!!!!!! see you down there!
  6. Yoshi - without sounding as if im trying to pick holes in your suggestion.......... can you clarify who is "responsible" for your kids club? (who is in charge of your set up?) if one of these "parentless" children, say........fell down the stairs at HT -who would make sure they were ok? if they had to go to hospital, who would accompany them? who would then look after / be responsible for the rest of them? i fully support your suggestion - as i do think there are alot of kids who are in the position you suggest - I, myself had to force/encourage my dad to take me to Fir Park - as before I was here, he followed Arthurlie! but with a suggestion like this, i think there would be way too many legal obligations that would not allow it to work
  7. i've already cancelled my sports package.........and as the OP says, you need to give them one months notice. So call up today, give them their notice and tell them why. And if Sky support the deal, then we can all call back up and tell them we want the package again..........SIMPLES! as much as its starting to annoy me how long this whole thing is dragging on, what is also starting to infuriate me is the lies coming from certain quaters we are all asking for transparency - not a "tinted specs" version
  8. i think all those statements made from mccall about a centre half (Ramsden and now Kerr) clearly indicate that Hateley will be playing midfield. I liked him in there under Gannon (part of a 3 man midfield) but under McCall, or anyone else when we are playing 2 central midfielders, he does not cut it. Neither does Law. More so than anything, I think that speak volumes for how well Lasley and Jenno played together and how much work the two of them put in theres a difference between playing a long pass and a hoof it/punt it/launch it up the park scenario - Higdon is not going to chase balls into the corner, however if a pass, long or short, is played into his feet or chest - we benefitted and played nice football, Christ, he won plenty of knock ons - just s shame that no one ever took a gamble! im hoping he gets off to a flyer in dingwall, get his confidence up early and hopefully we can reap the rewards!!
  9. i've mentioned this a few times, and there are obviously pros / cons of this - but with all fans of all clubs against Rangers just now, and all clubs directors worried about the loss of several thousand h**s ££££ can we not try and incorporate an "away season ticket"?? i know in the past we have had deals with Killie and Hearts for reduced prices but can we not come up with an idea/solution that pools all the money and splits it evenly between all teams - Celtic probably being the exception. Like many, I try and go to every away game. Up until last year, I was nearly at every game consecutively, but a change in circumstances means I now have to choose my games. I cant be the only one. IMO, away fans numbers have dropped at every club - less people are traveling. It could be ££ it could be "heavy hands, empty stands" there is no doubt having a good travelling support at any stadium is a good thing my example!! £150 gets you 10 away games - any 10 apart from Parkhead you could choose to go to each stadium once or you could decide that Aberdeen, Inverness and Dingwall are too far to travel so choose to go to Paisley, Kilmarnock and Hearts twice either way - all clubs split the pot benefits of this are similar to home season tickets where its cheaper to buy in advance. The £150 you spend is getting you to 10 games rather than 7 make sense??????????
  10. i agree with you point, but what I think we all need to think about or realise is that...........when the club comes out with these statements, i think there is a bit of spin on it!! (cynical i know!) just because the numbers are up, doesn't mean the finances are up - how many of these increased STs were actually given away for free?? we really cant expect them to come out and say, ST sales are dreadful! especially when we are trying to encourage folk to buy into the Well Society it will be interesting to see what happens with Jenno. IMO he is invaluable, BUT we cant wait forever. Someone mentioned a while ago, he re-signed last year on July 1st but that was only because he swapped agents(??) - well time is pressing on now!!
  11. alot of the Rangers fans i know are saying "we'd rather got to Div 3 " - so if that is the case - why are their board not listening to them?????????????????? although they say that - they then have to tarnish it with sly digs - so im happy to say see you later then, go to Div 3 - you wont be missed!! they cant understand that fans of other clubs dont want them - they cant understand that the league only becomes uncompetitive for Celtic, for everyone else there is a chance to acquire additional points as someone else pointed out - every other club has fans who want to "SAVE" their club - this mob want to FIGHT!! and blame everyone else.............:wank:
  12. this isnt going to be resolved in under a week, so what happens now???
  13. thats exactly what he told me, i asked him who he thought would be the next manager......................expecting him to be a billy big timer, and aim high, with a high profile name - he came back with........ Colin Cameron / Gary Locke or Cuerio (apparently he was the Portuguese manager of Kaunas when they beat Rangers)
  14. one of my Hearts supporting mates said Sergio was on £700/750k per year apparently Lisbon were paying 50% of this (which expired May 31st).........therefore Hearts were now required to pay the full whack, and as mentioned above, with the cuts they are making - Mad Vlad was not willing to pay that kind of Wonga! ( ) i dont see any manager with a job going to Tynecastle - Hearts wont want to pay compensation however to those who say, you'd be mad to touch it...........if you dont have a job, its better than nothing, and if you take it and dont succeed, you'll still get a pay off!!!!
  15. http://www.realradio-scotland.co.uk/shows/rrfpi-boot-room-specials/77d1f am i missing somwthing? or is not available online????
  16. im in the same situation as you..................(but not that I think there will be plenty of europa away trips) but why Kiev? its bottom of my list - i've been and dont want to go back!! and it certainly wasnt a place where we could do what we did in Nancy, Odense, Llanelli (or Swansea) Not because "i've been there so fancy somewhere else" but because it was terrible!!!! We wont be able to play football in that heat. I was there when Scotland played in the older stadium - people were fainting outside and the police came in during the first half to dish out water supplies it was that warm!!!!!!! Expensive to get there, although it is dirt cheap once you are there! For me it has to be Copenhagen - closest, safest! and best chance of getting through!!!!
  17. been to Athens for the Liverpool Milan Champ Lge final, been to Kiev for a Scotland game.............dont fancy either for Motherwell, especially in that heat has to be Denmark or Belgium for me...........slim chace of us getting that one, but its the one I really hope for On another note.......and to add to the endless permutations already here.....................if we lose this game, we go into the Europa Lge - what teams could we face? am i correct in assuing its the playoff round?
  18. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/4307404/I-lost-my-drive-when-dad-died-and-knew-I-had-to-call-it-a-day.html STEPHEN CRAIGAN last night told how he lost his edge following the death of his father. Emotional Motherwell captain Craigan confessed losing his dad John just four months ago had hit him harder than he thought. Proud Craigan Snr was always first on the phone to talk tactics and hail his son’s heroics in the heart of the Fir Park defence. Craigan Jnr has missed those chats terribly. So, it is with a heavy heart, the 35-year-old admits now’s the right time to call it a day. Craggs told SunSport: “I’ve always had great motivation and desire. I’ve always had that siege mentality of wanting to prove people wrong. “But if I am brutally honest, perhaps that has waned in the last few months. “I couldn’t get myself up for training sometimes and I always said if I got to that stage I would call it a day. “I wasn’t training and feeling the way I was five or six years ago. “I lost my dad in January and that has affected me more than I thought it had. My dad was like any other dad. He was football, football, football. “He always wanted to talk to me about football and how I had played and how we were doing. I’ve missed that and it’s taken the edge off for me. “The phone calls haven’t came and the chats haven’t been there. “I always got the best out of myself when I played on the edge and trained on the edge. I didn’t want to let myself down. I have done more than I thought I would ever do and it’s the right time.” Craigan, in his second spell at Fir Park following a stint at Partick Thistle, is preparing for an emotional farewell on Sunday. The Ulsterman — who has made 378 appearances for Well and amassed 54 caps for Northern Ireland — will bring the curtain down on a remarkable 18-year career against Dundee United. He added: “I’ve had some wonderful times at Motherwell and that’s part of the reason I’m calling it quits just now. “We’ve qualified for the Champions League qualifiers and surpassed our best ever points tally. “On a personal level it would be hard for me to top that. I wanted to finish on a high. I’m doing that.” Well boss Stuart McCall had offered the defender a new one-year deal. But Craigan — set to pursue a career in the media — couldn’t be tempted to sign. He said: “I must admit, I had a wee wobble when the manager offered me a new contract as I wasn’t expecting it. “But I’m sure this is the right thing to do. I’ve enjoyed so many happy times here, but the time is right to walk away.” Craigan admits he’ll struggle to keep his emotions in check when he takes a final bow in front of the Well fans. He added: “Sunday will be emotional, I know that. My mum is coming over for my last game. My wife and wee one will be there too. If my dad was alive he’d be there too. “I’m getting emotional just thinking and talking about it, so I know it will be a difficult one for me on Sunday. “But I want to show the fans how much I’ve appreciated them over the years.” Read more: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/feeds/smartphone/scotland/4307404/I-lost-my-drive-when-dad-died-and-knew-I-had-to-call-it-a-day.html#ixzz1ueJvTr9S
  19. can only echo what has been said deserves a run out on Sunday and one almighty send off (i'll be happy if we get a pen and he slots it away just like the testimonial at the start of the season!) hopefully he gets a run out and smashes all the Utd players who got into the Team of the Year!!!!!!!
  20. just heard the same Mj - hope he gets better soon hopefully they will tell him that he has to stop working rediculous hours
  21. not heard that one where did you hear the rumour?
  22. thats my coupon sorted for tonight!!!!!!!!! if it comes up, i dont care where we are drawn................i'll be able to afford it anyway!!!!!! lol interesting, keep the info coming to those folk who have used the club charters the last few years............... was it worth the "extra" money? was it arrive the day before and head home straight after the game? how many spaces were made available on the plane? (or did that depend on who/ where we were playing?) if we end up going to Turkey, Russia, Ukraine or Portugal - i think thats the option i may have to take. I dont think you would be able to get any cheap flights there within an 11 day period (especially with it being "summer holiday" time) I've always preferred to book these things myself but on this occasion i think my hands may be tied
  23. from this : http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/scottish/gossip/ Aberdeen manager Craig Brown will this week discuss a possible contract at Pittodrie with Inverness winger Jonny Hayes. (Herald) left sided midfielder with a left foot! maybe someone we could be interested in?
  24. i would love to see a "Leeann Dempster" reply in here, but I very much doubt it!!!! However, I do think its an important question that needs answered. Maybe if people hold off on the season ticket front, and sales dont go as expected then the club might be forthcoming with information. However if the club do announce that they wont be voting them in - maybe Sandy Jardine and his army of buns might do something bad to us!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. Not really, more of a mate told me he had heard the following : "one of our out of contract players, who has been offered a new contract, but isnt happy with his new terms and Hibs are interested in him" Now I dont have MFC tv, so I couldnt tell you if the below is true, but I suppose it could possibly back up what I have been told Or maybe its his agent trying to get Motherwell to up the terms by saying other clubs are interested - i honestly dont know!
