Buddies new signing with this in mind, does that mean Higdon is definitely away??? who else has he been linked with? if anyone
-
can you name them?!?!?! even if he does - he is securing his family's future (3yr deal with us @ £2k per week = £312,000) moving to Hearts, 3yr deal @ 4.5k or 6k per week = 702,000 / 936,000) gone are the days when footballers earned the same money as Joe Public and there was loyalty - him and his family are number 1, the clubs and the fans come down the pecking order - i dont see the problem with that If someone offered me 3x my wages to do a job - I would be off in a shot - Why is that so hard to accept?
-
bollocks - absolute bollocks the last 6 months he was played in his natural position - before that he was a sub or a left midfielder - and showed what he could do given the right service there really is no pleasing some folk

its amazing how Jefferies has come in and totally changed that team - on the whole, he is looking for a British type player and changed the backbone of that team - as much as he is a whinging fu**er, I would love them to really challenge the OF - next season might be the one! anyway - if its true, big loss for us - but you can hardly blame him when he is offered that kind of money. And to the posters who mentioend they would rather see him go down south instead of Hearts - I totally agree, but with the size of Scotland, he has managed a bumper pay rise and probably wont even have to move house! Big plus for him Anyone think his brother will be welcome at Tynecastle!!! lol
-
if the rumour mill is true then he is earning triple what we could afford - how can anyone say no to that? come on - be serious and take off the claret and amber specs as i said many pages back - he has never been a big earner, Raith, Wycombe, St Midden and us..........he deserves his chance of a pay day (not that I agree with footballers wages - thats another argument) and to look after himself and his family. fair play to him, thank him for his efforts, he will be a loss to us, as he represents what MFC is all about but hopefully turn into another Blackman!! Faddy, Skippy, Porter,McCormack, Clarky, Juke, Blackman, Sutton - who is next for the MFC striker conveyor belt????
-
totally agree................best pre season ever, what a day out that was loadsa pics, nice scenery and some nice local bands remember, playing scottish teams and picking up any red cards stays on the record and adds to disciplinary points my preference would be Carlisle, Hartlepool, M'boro, Hull - something like that so thats its easy to go to. Hearts played Millwall last year and took 000s to the game, and as far as I know, they are in talks with Newcastle for a game down there - i would love us to get a game where we can take a great support and have a great day out - i just cant see a close by attractive option

fuck them all phone the polis and tell them you are being harrassed - if they ask, by who, them them you dont know they are anonymous and to speak to the council loadsa people have said they have stuff up - get some pictures up!!
-
is it still the same today??? do all players who took part in the previous rounds not get a medal? i thought they did especially since now we have squad rotation systems!
-
7quid for a ticket back then.........no idea what a pint cost, as i was too young!!!
-
i dont care who the sponsor is.................money is money, a deal has been done early and the money is in the bank, so for that the club need to be applauded, especially after last year - maybe lessons were learned. however, my gripe is that I like to wear a strip to the games...........but for the last several years, I have stopped doing it, as I feel the club are robbing the fans with the constant shirt "changes" - i used to have all the strips, even had the Shivute yellow one!! people may say, you dont have to buy the new strip.........well you are right, but when you try to tell that to a wean who wants a new strip with a name and number on the back, its not quite as easy As someone who struggles to pay for season tickets.......this is just another expense where the club are trying to bleed as much money out of the fans as possible (you could argue thats their job!)

Carswell to get starting position for next week
-
if you get 7 tickets together i will be very surprised out of the 7 of you, do none of you know anyone who has a season ticket who could have helped you out? i find that hard to believe i'm still 100% behind the club in how they have TRIED to do this, if there was a general sale, even more people would be moaning about not getting tickets and how x amount of mhankies got in before them i do agree that the club should come on here and say their piece, but even if they do that, there will still be folk who want to slaughter them - so can you really blame them for not doing so?
-
guys - i know its easier said than done - but if you are a genuine fan, then you will get a ticket. no doubt the club will be going through a manual verification process, where they are cross checking the details people have already stated that they have applied for tickets through the ballot as an insurance policy and i guess there are thousands of these requests, so it will take time. i'll be very surprised if there is anyone who REALLY wants to go, doesnt get a ticekt

Dave, its a two way thing - the club need to accept some blame if they go. We could have offered Sutton a contract extension in Nov/Dec - but the club chose not too. If we made him an offer before he started scoring for fun and bringing mega attention on himself, then we would have a player who would have been signed on for longer and on a "cheaper" wage. As it happens, we didnt offer him a contract and waited until his stature rose and rose and rose - now we are in a position of losing him for nothing, or if he stays, its costing the club more money. I dont want to see the club going back into the dark days of administration, however we need to speculate a little more - we have already seen the club tie down some of the more sellable assets - why was Sutton not included? by not engaging with the players/agents before Jan - we are leaving them open to freely talk to other clubs who can tempt them with whatever offer. I'll be disappointed if both leave, however they both would go with my best wishes and I would do exactly the same (you go where you think is best for you and your family)
-
its a difficult one..........for me, Ports is by far the better footballer........however Sutton represents what Motherwell Fc is all about, fight, determination, guts and wears the heart on his sleeve When Ports was here, Clarky done all the donkey work for him - who would do that now?? It would be class to see Jeffers and Ports together - but I just dont know if that would work and would probably cost the club a fortune!
-
could we seriously afford Porter??? i dont think so did he not go down there to reasonably funny money? and to be closer to his family? there must be loads of clubs down there who would be interested and can offer way more than what we can IF he came back - are you assuming Sutton is away? or are you going to drop Sutton? or do a Paw Brron and punt him to left midfield?? for me, if we were to pay someone a wage that Porter would want - he would need to play every week to justify the expense

Dundee Utd can offer way more money than what we can - thats the reality. When he signed with us, he signed two 1 year deals. IMO, he was always going to use us as a stepping stone to bigger things whether that be to a bigger team or to make his bank balance bigger. I obviously want him to stay at FP - even if its another 1 yr deal - but money talks, and at this stage its iffy between us and Utd who are going into Europe - that may sway his mind. I always thought though, that if he were to leave us, he would go back down south. But hey ho, look at Blackman - we thought the same about him. Does anyone know of other SPL midfielders who are out of contract? who are they? I dont know how these contracts work - would he go talk to them out of courtesy? (does that actually happen?) or would his agent just say to them - "nah, he's not interested"
-
i had one - completed with a washed out Well Worth Saving sticker!! no idea where it is now, probably lost but they were awesome!!!!!
-
i have no idea what ticekts are left - I got 2 tickets on friday - asked for anywhere in section B and was told it was sold out whether thats true or not, i have no idea I think the Family section will have sold out quickly - not alot of people would want to pay £28 for a kid to go to the game So by that reasoning - i think the tickets that will be left will £35 ones I know the club may be delaying some important info - but at the same time, if they had a general sale, Smeltic fans would buy the tickets and the club would be berated for that too
-
i agree Andy - i know the club need the money, but as the same time, us punters need the money too last home game, get the crowds in and pack FP - free entry if you have bought a cup final ticket (and before anyone says, thats 16k v 14k capacity, theres still no danger every single person will turn up) even reduce it to £10/5 or £5/£2 - do something, give the team a great send off and a chance to say well done for a great season
-
aye its pretty good - about 8 rows from the front and pretty central, i'm going tomorrow and I'm going to ask for his seat!!!!! Gary 411 - I can kind of see your argument, but at the same time, the offer of 2 free juvenile tickets is too encourage families along to the game. Now, I may be speaking out of turn here, and making an assumption or a stereotypical view of students, however if you are a student then i presume you do not have kids. (if you had kids, then i presume you wouldbe working to provide for them) So why do you want the tickets? to pass onto your mates and rob the club of money? You are already getting the season ticket at a reduced rate - is that not a perk enough?
