  1. 367 for me. surely the club will have no1?

mind when the shop was under the main stand, and when you walked in they had the well stuff behind the glass, then you went round the corner the ticket office/wee window was on the left hand side - was there not a picture hanging on the wall behind you?!?!?! lol sad i know!!

and as for jay's comment, the place in EK is called fast frame - all the motherwell stuff i have framed i've had done in there, to try and keep all the frames the same!!!

  2. unfortunately by the time I arrived, I had to head straight to the ground.

so i missed anything that was for sale at the fan zone/ outside the ground

anyone shed any light was what on offer? programmes? scarves? t-shirts? anything???

i like collecting these things and was wondering if anyone had any info about how i can get my hands on something

    cheers

  3. How do the young lads compare fitness wise to the senior players, better or worse?

IMO much of a muchness, however all of them are very thin/powder puff/slight. they are all very mobile. Saunders was consistently going forward and Slane impressed with his direct running. Forbes didnt do much running,(with the position he was playing) however he did look quite comfortable on the ball. We all know Murphy and O'Brien have got pace to burn (why didnt we hammer their right back????)and I dont think have an opinion on McHugh yet!!

Out of all the youngsters from Thursday night, I think Slane deserves the nod to start. However, I do agree with someone before who mentioned he would be a good impact player, especially against tired legs.

Fingers crossed I get to see us win on foreign soil!!

  4. traffic, i think you can see by the responses that we fairly reguarly get beat by smaller teams!! I recall the ICT, forfar, ayr, Mypa, HB games and yes last night was bad.

IMO last night wasn't the worst, altho some players do need to take a look at themselves. last night was a chance to show their worth.

it wont change, we are motherwell and unfortunately it'll happen again. i always look forward to playing smaller teams in the cup for a variety of reasons, but at the same time i dread them as i know a shock result is always possible.

  5. Hi Nigel, thanks for the warm welcome. Cant wait to head down to Wales to sample another stadium and the local hospitality.

All your efforts into making this an enjoyable experience are most appreciated, and I really do hope that you are rewarded financially for this. Its not often you see football clubs go the extra mile for the fans

Its been great reading your own forum and all your guys seem spot on. Hope you have an enjoyable time on Thurs, but go down the road defeated!!!

  6. Lee Miller went to Clyde Valley High if I mind right. Also, helped Paul Quinn pick out some wine the day in Morrisons in Wishaw. So much for him signing for Cardiff the day?

from what I heard, he was a godfather on sunday, so didnt want to drive down today. will be heading down and signing tomorrow

  7. That's one way of putting it. The other more generous way is that he realised that he is still someone learning his trade in management, and who may have not been ready for a job where there would have been too few resources at his disposal and where there would have been too much expectation given a good past two years.

Why humility should be held against someone I don't know, but there you go, football messageboards, hardly bastions of fairness.

totally agree, i would like to think i'm a little ambitious in my line of work. however if my managers job came up next week, i wouldnt apply, and if offered it, i wouldnt take it. I dont think i'm ready for it and i hate doing a job that makes me look stupid or makes out as if i dont know what i'm doing. Maybe he felt 2yrs at top flight coaching wasnt enough to take the step up,maybe he feels he needs another couple of years.

he wasnt our choice, and the majority didnt want him in - so why all the fuss? he feels he works well with Mutley and wants to continue that. I have no problem with that.

loyalty in the work place does not exist anymore in any walk of life (if it does, its the very very small minority) We are Motherwell and we have to accept that people will use us to move onto bigger things

  8. well done Spud!

you've finally got something to show for all the hard work you put in

however, you could have at least had a shave and given yourself the clean cut image!!!!

anyway - well done, as has been mentioned earlier, the club still get alot of criticism (rightly and wrongly) but i dont think anyone can say that there hasnt been an improvement since you started

    well done mate

  9. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

am i allowed to say "told ye so"?!? (altho we didnt even have a big crowd) another important game and we fail to turn up

huge disappointment today, not only in defeat but in performance aswell.

£5 a head only attracted 6616 (allegedly), losing out on a top six place, means £300,000 wont be winging its way to us..........cant see anyone paying more than a fiver for the remainder of the season

  10. can only echo the above sentiments. performances like that are exactly why £18 to get in is a rip off. as the second goal went in, there was a mass departure. i looked around and thought "this is what FP will be like for the remaining games"

i have a season ticket, but i'm doubt if i'll be back this season. falkirk, st.mirren, caley, kilmarnock anf accies...........does that excite anyone?

i'll only be there if we have a chance of relegating someone!!!

  11. whilst this doesnt directly affect me as I have ST, the club must be commended on trying to get bums on seats for this games. HOWEVER, my main concern is that we as a team over the years have continually failed to perform in front of large crowds. Every time we have our hearts set on a big game, with a big crowd, we just dont seem to do it.

I would love another jaunt to Europe next season, so I hope I am very very wrong, but can someone remind me of the last time we managed to pull off a victory in an important game in front of a large crowd????

Beating Smeltic on Skippy Sunday doesnt count............as it never really had any significance to us.

Relegating Falkirk mant moons ago?!?! Van Der Gaag scoring at FP?!?!?!? surely there must be something more recent than that

  12. if i never had a season ticket, i wouldnt be at ALL the games, i'd be picking and choosing. when my season ticket comes up for renewal, i'll be seriously considering my options.

£18 to sit in the east stand is daylight robbery (i dont care its the cheapest in the SPL, its still daylight robbery)

£24 for this saturdays game is atrocious

i'd like to see the club doing something now, to inform folk about season tickets and pricing for next year. if we dont make the top six this year, we'll lose out on money we probably expected. we'll get lower away crowds and i can really see some very poor attendances after the split. we will suffer from this, and we wont be the only ones. If Falkirk or Killie go down, i think that would be a disaster financially for them.

ALL SPL teams need to sit down and prepare for next season, if all the clubs are going to go it on their own and make no deals with other clubs, i think next season will see dramtic decreases in attendances. The Premiership (the supposed greatest league in the world) is already seeing crowds dropping)

football clubs and football players have become so greedy - and its us fans who have to pick up the pieces. Someone mentioned priorities earlier, my mortgage payments, car payments, general house bills and shopping are priorities, anything else is a luxury. IMO football is now an extortionate luxury

  13. on the positive side we took a fair few through last night

good sing song, funny chants, and some abuse to the captial scum. i'm all for your stupid songs, creating an atmosphere and getting behind the team

what i dont get, is why some ghouls who were in the back row decided

to start smashing in the Hearts seats. do they not realise we get billed for that?

Do they not know that we dont have extra money to pay for stupid things like

    this?

£21 is already too much to get in, its only going to go up if you trash

    the seats

grow up idiots - if Motherwell do get billed for this, i might just have to come forward with your identity so you can pay it our your pocket

  14. disappointed not to get anything from the game, several very good performances. IMO Clarkson really faded out the game and ended up being ineffectual. Not playing in his best position we cant expect miracles.

if we cant keep hold of Klimpl, we'll miss him big time - he's been exceptional for us, and certainly has the attributes to be a hero to the Well fans.

i think the reason why i'm so disappointed is that we lost 2 goals to throw ins from the same place. we screwed up for the first one, definite defensive mistake and altho we rectified it for the second goal, they got the brak of the ball and the deflection took it past Smith. All the players deserved the applause for their effort last night.

I would like to point out tho, how important set peices are. We had several corners, and i think the only one we threatened from was Reynolds header in the dying minutes. We need to make corners and throw ins count more. We all know CRaggs can launh the ball - why dont we use it more often? We've got Stretch, Sutton and Sheridan to aim at.

On another note, it was great to see Stretch get another game under his belt and he played really well especially against 2 of the better wide men in this league, Driver and Abou(think thats his name)

  15. very tough one to call, though it was a solid team performance. Hughes with the goal, JOBBY with plenty of running, Sheridna done alot of running, holding the ball up and got a few shots away. But for me it was Klimpl again. Even after his booking, he was still touh in the tackle and showed some very nice touches.

    Don't let him go home!!

  16. i'm quite happy with this addition. he does look a bit raw from what i have seen of him, but many good/great players have failed to do it at the OF, due to the pressure they are under every week.

when Ports first arrived at us, he looked gangly, he looked as though he didnt have a touch, and he looked as though he couldnt run. he proved us all wrong and slammed the goals in. I would say he's the most composed finisher at FP since Tommy Coyne - anyone going to abuse that Jungle Jim who also chose to play for the ROI! lol

I'm hoping that Sheridan will be given a chance, not 5 mins here, 5 mins there, we just need to look at JOB for that - players need games. I hope he scores early for us so the fans dont get on his back. The way I see it, if we play Sutton, we're looking at a 442....however, if we play Sheridan, we may still be able to play him straight through the middle, Clarky on one side an AN Other on the other side. I believe Sutton WILL score goals for us, but he's a penalty box striker, he aint going to do that much outside the box, we just need to make sure he gets the service.

Hopefully this comes across as an optimistic post!! EVERY player who pulls on a Claret and Amber shirt deserves our support and deserves a chance.

  17. i'm absolutely delighted the game has got the go ahead, but i cant help think that the SFA/Polica will call the game off due to weather conditions, and say its for the safety of the fans. i'm trying to be optimistic!

was there not a game in Spain a while back that got abandoned because the away fans were pelting the keeper with snowballs?!?!? lol can see that as HT entertainment tonight!!

i'm in EK which normally gets it bad when other places dont. whats everywhere else like? anyone from Stirling, Perth, Dundee, Stonehaven got an update what its like up there so i know what to expect for travelling conditions??

Ricky - you mentioned the ref. any idea when he normally arrives???
