  1. Accies are shite, i give you that..........however, every time we play them, whether it be home or away - they bring us down to their level

today will be tough, any win will do me!! but we need our best players available so we can battle with them, cos i think it will be a dog fight today

  2. One of the guys I work with is a St Midden fan - he tells me that he's heard a snippet that the SPL is to be extended at the end of this season to 16 teams.

The split will still exist, except it will be : play each team twice, then 7 games after the split. With the introduction of relegation plus a playoff

I had a few questions like, I thought they had to have more than a seasons notice period for such a change

How would all the teams agree to this when more than half would lose OF revenue

He couldnt answer those questions, as he was only passing on what he has been told - but he also mentioned it was another reason why the Saints went for Lennon - they had a feeling they would be fighting relegation this season, but with "no relegation" on the cards it gives him a year to build a squad

Thoughts? Bullshit?? Anyone think its a goer???

  3. we scored - they didnt or we're through and they're not!!

however, as i mentioned earlier, i would say Brechin played the better "football" - their no 5, certainly put ours to shame.........always wanting the ball, getting it, and finding a man

however, I'm not slating Craigan - i'm a fan of his........he has 50 international caps, the Brechin no 5 is a nobody!

i've got to agree with a few posts above :

1 the best football we played was 1st half v hibs - a joy to watch

2 hateley still needs to prove he is a centre mid and can cut it as 2 man, rather than the anchor man in gannons 3 man - jenno and las are far better together

3 forbes - i dont know what to say or where he can fit in, he just doesnt do it for me ( i find him so frustrating)

4 someone mentioned about wide left position.........i think thats where we'll see murphy play

    5

this is what i think is our strongest team, i'll try and put players into their position, but when you watch us, players seem to move all the time

    randolph

    saunders craigan reynolds hammell

    jenno las

    humphrey gow murphy

    sutton

no hateley.........IMO cant play in the middle when theres only 2, and saunders deserves to keep his place in the team

blackman - i think Humphrey just nips in ahead of him, however for blackman to come in, means he goes up top, sutton goes left and murphy to the right

forbes - just doesnt fit into the team, he is so frustrating

    well seen i'm off work!!!!!!!!!!

  4. From the groans and abuse I heard last night I think I may be on my own on this one, but I thought Forbes looked very promising in that position.

He played four or five very clever balls, some out wide, one through the middle for Gow to set up his jinking run, and a number of simpler ones slid to Blackman. Unfortunately Blackman had a bit of a shocker in the wider position and took every opportunity to run straight into his man.

If given a run in the team in that position in the hole behind the striker(s) Forbes will really come on to a game, the only problem being if 2 or 3 of his passes don't come off the crowd start losing the plot.

the problem i have with that, is that i would have rather seen Gow in that position and see McHugh or someone else given a try up top. If we are going to get the best out of Gow, he needs to be on the ball. Playing a little deeper than a front man will see him get that and hopefully his craft will see him create/score some goals

  5. we were lucky - and they were unlucky not to grab AT LEAST one goal

Page was playing LB for the poster who asked

and as for Gow not up to much, i think thats a little harsh - time and time again, he came short to look for the ball - shouting and screaming for it, and never got it. The amount of times we gave the ball away, instead of passing and finding a man was unbelievable - against a better team we might have been punished. at times brechin shamed us, and showed how to pass the ball and keep possession

Nelson in goals played not to bad at all, you heard him screaming all night giving out instructions and pulled off a great save from Gow

all in all, you can only beat whats in front of you so we're in the next round and that was the aim - i'll take st.j at home - falkirk appear to be playing very well just now and could cause another upset

  6. I know we have a game before hand............but work commitments mean I have to plan ahead.

What is the best way to go taking into account rush hour traffic and the road works on the M80?

do you go M74/M73/M80 through the roadworks? or do you bite the bullet and go M8/M90?? or even over the Kincardine bridge???

any help would be much appreciated

  7. Craigie Speaks

Didn't realise he was such a fan of Tim "the toolman" Taylor

how good does the park look in the background?!?!

    lush green grass

has anyone in the media commented in the turnaround from the beach football park? not that I expected positive words from the media

anyway, a hard fought 2-1 win - the sheep will be reeling after last week

  8. when you are an individual, £5 isnt a lot of money - when its a family, its not just 1 £5, it could be 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 £5's - it adds up.

I'm not happy the price has went up, and I'm not happy its £20 but thats the "going rate"

However, if we dont vent our frustration and show the club we are unhappy - then come the group stages (if we get there) the price will go up again.

Some people say we are supporters of a club, therefore we should support the club - but the club isnt run like a club, its run like a business, so are we now customers??? If the "club" wants the "supporters" to come out and "support" the club, then they shouldnt be increasing the price. Instead, its been run like a business and their rallying call tells all - i think they know the fans will be hacked off.

The club cant continue to fleece the fans and take them for granted - i wouldnt mind paying a little more if we had a decent stadium to watch it in either! (but thats another debate!!)

  9. £20 to watch one of the biggest games in Motherwell's history is not bad at all!

i'm undecided........£20 is £20, it would have been nice for the club to have kept it at £15 and £5 and bumped it up if we made it to the group stages. Its now £10 dearer for me to go to this game.

Part of me wants the "floating" fan to stay away. Have the club decided to cash in?Hoping that we get a similar attendance to the Aaleslund game? Did the board or the financial people actually expect us to make it to this round? Was it budgeted for?

The league season hasnt even started, I cant afford a season ticket yet I have already shelled out over £100 to the 'Well

  10. does being up the top tier not generate a better atmosphere?? ok, you cant see them as much - however its echos a helluva more up there than it does down the bottom - therefore the away fans sound louder???

either way - i do agree with you. we have to be selfish here and do whats best for US

  11. as much as it would be great to get to the group stages, for the fans and the club financially - i think the play off is as far as will go - IF we can win next week!

i'm in the same boat as el pidge - i'm hoping for french, english, german or dutch - purley cos its easy to get to and doesnt cost of fortune to get there

i've managed a few trips abroad with the well inthe past and its been a great experience. My g/f is due in january so this will probably be the last trip for a while - so for selfish reasons its got to be close to home and affordable!!
