  1. No, they're not a company. 400m euros is the football related turnover.
  2. Tight game. 1-0 'Well. A late winner against our Gorgie friends would be nice.
  3. Surely one cpuld use the same logic and apply it McManus. He was excellent for Scotland away to France and had a fine game for Celtic in the San Siro. I think McManus,Caldwell and Berra are all of a similar level-half decent but prone to having off days. That's probably why they play for the clubs they do. Reynolds is a tad below this level in my view but must be knocking at the door of a Scotland call-up. As for Bramble, well, Steve Bruce managed to coax some fine performances out of him when in charge of Wigan. They had a very good defensive record and Bramble was at that heart of that. Haven't seen so much of him this season but it sounds like he may have regressed. Judging players on their spell at Newcastle is dangerous, especially centre-halfs.
  4. Sounds promising. Let's hope we can get him signed, he's been in superb form.
  5. I think it's Kilmarnock-1997/1998(ECWC),1998/1999(UEFA),1999/2000(UEFA). Hibs have achieved the feat since if you count the Intertoto cup.

    John Ruddy

You're really into this 'keeper comp, aren't you? Finished 0-1 at Vicarage Road so another clean sheet for De Vries-who was fairly pish at Dunfermline IIRC.
  7. Sounds like we were slightly fortunate there. Still, another point, another clean sheet. I think we have to win our two home games before the split to have any chance of 3rd.
  8. Coke and Forbes. Sounds as if we're using the wide players much more.
  9. O'Brien and Murphy coming on by the sounds of it.
  10. Aye, because it was about £1 to get in against Dunfermline and Dundee Utd. Home games against St.Johnstone and Dundee drew the usual crowd of around 5,000-odd. I think in recent years we've seen the disappearance of the casual spectator and the reduction across the board of away supports. Hom crowds remain roughly the same I reckon.
  11. Averages fluctuate. Why not take 06/07 when the average was again around 5,800? The home support seems fairly stable to me, despite the worst recession for 75-odd years.
  12. Our corner-kicks were a real strength under Gannon. Don't seem to be as effective of late. Sounds fairly poor stuff so far. First goal could be the winner.
  13. Alan Johnston's playing. He must be what, 38/39? EDIT: checked, he's 36 and spells his first name with two "l"s.
  14. How would having 18 teams in the top division alter any of that? Quite what Gretna's rise and demise has to do with an expanded top flight is beyond me.
  15. Team: Ruddy, Hammell, Reynolds, Craigan, Coke, Humphrey, Jennings, Sutton, Hateley, Forbes, Saunders Subs: Fraser, Jutkiewicz, Lasley, Murphy, O'Brien, McGlinchey, McHugh. Murphy must be wondering what he's done wrong. Looks a crazy selection to me. Reynolds in midfield perchance?
  16. Agree with your post. There's next to no chance Ruddy will be here next season, and we certainly won't be paying £350k for a player but our average gate is almost identical this season as it was last year, and the year before that as well. Around the 5,500 mark.
  17. I'd rather watch games against Rangers,Celtic, Aberdeen,Hibs and Hearts(even twice a season) than watch matches against Ross County,Queen of the South and Raith Rovers. Last time we had an 18 team league the Scottish game was reduced to having 9 full-time clubs.
  18. I reckon we'll stroll this tonight. 2-0 M'Well- Murphy and Sutton.
  19. We did turn down offers from Rangers for both McDonald and Reynolds. As regards Accies, well we got marginally less for Quinn than they received off of Burnley for Brian Easton. McCarthy was always going to go for more, the only surpirse was that Barcelona, Inter Milan and Liverpool didn't enter the bidding.
  20. Just because you keep repeating this doesn't make it true. The point is guys like Ross and Crainey got capped for doing not very much at all at club level. Guys like Corrigan played at a consistent level for months yet didn't get a look in. Anyway, I was delighted when he got a "B" cap, the least he deserved.
  21. That not a back six? Brian Martin scored a real cracker a Ibrox that day IIRC.
  22. How many appearances did he make at Motherwell?
  23. Vrey similar to last week's game. A lot of okay play but we failed to work the 'keeper enough. Once we went infront there was only going to be winner. Th etactic of Sutton out wide on the left wqas debatable, seemed to work wel in the first half when Jutkiewicz nad Murphy were able to work the channels and swap positions. Humphrey looked dangerous when hogging the touchline. I thought Coke in the centre of a 4-2-3-1 didn't work, no surprise we looked more dangerous and got the goal when he went to the left of a midfiled 4. Big game at St. Johnstone next week, take another 1-0 in an instant.

    Kilmarnock

    Jennings, by a fair distance.

I thought Humphrey's crossing was fine. In the first half he palyed a lot of useful balls for Sutton at the backstick. As somebody else mentioned he also attempted to vary his ball into the box. One overhit ball in the second half but heyho, have you ever seen Dani Alves, does it at least once a game as well. DDidn't think the change in personnel helped him, was far better in first half half.
