  1. Really not sure where to start with that, it’s been awful in recent weeks but tonight was even worse than anything we’ve seen so far this season.
I’ve been firmly in the Hammell camp but I’m now having my doubts that he can turn this around. There’s now so much wrong I don’t know where we start, utterly depressing.

  2. Good to see Danzaki and Aitchison in there, should hopefully bring some freshness. A little surprised McKinstry is on the bench but I suppose Crankshaw came on and did well on Sat. Hopefully Aitchison gets a bit closer to Van Veen than others have this season.

Would give Van Veen until half time and if he looks as disinterested as he has in recent weeks get him off an Obeka on.

We are already in the deep you know what - previously we had people masquerading

    we need

    centre halves 1 maybe 2

    left back

    holding /battling midfield x2

    striker

Appreciate still time but I’ve not heard any noise from the club at any point that gives me confidence that these glaring gaps will be solved

says it all when we look at stmirren with envy - poor show

My thoughts exactly. With Penny and Sol gone, I think we need a left back, centre half and battling midfielder by the end of the night or we're in big trouble! You can add a striker to that as well if Mandron is out for any length of time.

  4. Finally plucked up the courage to watch the highlights. A few observations:

McGinn and Goss horrific for the goal and Kelly not to clever either.

What is the point of having a VAR that doesn’t give that foul on Lamie, it’s so bloody obviously a penalty.

We just can’t start on Wednesday night with a midfield of Slattery, Goss and Spittal, something HAS to change in there.

Wish I shared Faddys confidence that we’ll be ok. Although the bookies share his view, remarkably we’re 12/1 to finish bottom, really not sure what they’re seeing that I’m not!!

  5. What a frustrating afternoon (again). We were really poor (again), but we passed the ball better than them and to be honest, remarkably created more chances, despite how poor we were. Not sure who was at fault for the goal but a few on the left side of our defence seemed to switch off

A few things need to happen (not happen) after today. McGinn should not play left back, did well last week but was very poor today. Shields shouldn’t be seen again as he’s just not good enough, despite the effort he puts in. The midfield 3 of Slattery, Goss and Spittal just does not work in this league! Finally Van Veen needs a rocket up his arse, no doubt when he’s on his game he’s our best player, but my god watching him would make you want to put your fist through a wall!!

well how did the guys  that went  to the game think blaney played ????  the report i got on him was heez a confident lad and quite vocal with organisational skills

Played very well, particularly impressive given he was playing right sided centre half.

  7. Poor game on a poor pitch, but we were professional and got the job done. Kelly very little to do, whilst we scored twice, had one (rightly) disallowed and forced their keeper into a couple of saves. Good to get a win and to see Mandron get off the mark, should do his/our confidence a world of good. Avoid defeat in Paisley and beat the other Saints at home and we’ll be back on track…..(even I don’t believe that)

Taking over 2k to Arbroath in the middle of Jan when we’re on such a bad run is mightily impressive. Was great to be on the terraces again!

  8. Tough one to take. Really poor for the first 20 mins, gave away another soft goal, then managed to get on top for most of the rest of the game but just didn’t take our chances until the subs came on. Nisbet the difference between the teams, looked really sharp and took pretty well every chance he got, although defending from us looked terrible for all 3.

No doubt Hammell’s struggling but the biggest issue we have is that we just don’t have the personal. Van Veen terrible again today, looks uninterested but he knows he’ll start next week anyway as there’s no competition for places.

As a few others have said we need to stick by Hammell and back him in the transfer window.

Whilst a win would be very welcome, I'd say that this is a must not lose game. A draw would be a decent result.

    Yeh agree with that!

Avoid defeat today and then hopefully get at least 4 points from the next 2 home games and we’ll be heading back in the right direction!

Livi have a clued up manager who knows how to grind out a win and shut up shop, we have the opposite . The also have street wise hard working players who are always up for a battle , unfortunately we don’t.

Home win I’m afraid and more of Hammell being disappointed and wanting to learn from mistakes and more of team burrows telling us he needs a fair shot at it with a January and summer transfer window.

I hope I am so wrong

That clued up manager has already lost against us under Hammell this season!

We’ll just ignore the soft red card and dodgy penalty that contributed to that win 😉

Tried to get tickets online. No option shown for away fans. Only offered sections M, N , P in East stand. Think that's for home support. Tried phoning Livingston. Rang out. Anyone been able to get tickets?

Can buy at stadium - but no doubt there'll be lengthy queues if everyone's doing that.

I bought 2 yesterday for the East Stand and they say Away fan on them 🙂

Jesus, you are an optimist. You couldn't raffle off some of these players never mind expect someone to pay money for them

That’s my point, some of the players are just not good enough (majority Alexander signings), yet you expect Hammell to have us sitting pretty in the league.

The trouble is we don't have a lot of time sadly, relegation is a real threat this season.the squad is a shambles and putting a rookie manager in charge was a gamble that we should never have took.

I hear you but had we appointed an experienced manager I suspect he’d be dealing with the same issues. None of these issues are new since Hammell took charge, all of them have been happening since Jan 2022 if not before. We need to back Hammell in the window (if we have any cash to manoeuvre) and give him a fair crack at it.

FFS how can everything that happens at FP still be Alexander's fault. Take off the Hammell rose coloured glasses. He hasn't got it. How many defeats do you need to see that. We offer no threat, can't defend, can't keep a clean sheet. Look back to the league at the end of Christmas anytime and you will see the bottom 3 normally remain the bottom 3. The only question is in what order they finish

“No threat, can’t defend, can’t keep clean sheets”, maybe take a guess and why that might be the case? Maybe the players (or some of them at least) are just not good enough and need replaced.  Remind me how long Hammell has had in charge to replace players he doesn’t fancy?

  15. Worried like the rest of you but can we give Hammell a bloody chance?! Any manager would have struggled with the state Alexander left us in. I get that we need to start picking up points asap, but a pile on the manager is just not going to help. We need some bodies in quickly but surely Hammell deserves at least one full transfer window to see what he can do with the mess left to him. We’re still outside the bottom 2 (just) and we have a game in hand against a good few of the teams around us, so all is not lost yet.

Why are there no youth players coming through other than 16 year old  olds on the bench - where are the players from the 20s and 18s that Hammell over saw for years? Massive amounts of money invested in this with him at the helm with no results - this was the clubs ethos and that of the well society and Hammell was in  charge of this. He was given the job off the back of his performance in this role which is baffling

Must have imagined McKinstry out there tonight!

In all seriousness you have a point, we’ve struggled badly since the days of Turnbull, Campbell and Hastie coming through. How much of that is down to Hammell I’m not sure to be honest.

Hammell had some say in the signings so it's not 100% Alexander's fault by any stretch of the imagination.  We need at least 4 players next month or we'll be in deep deep trouble. What's more Hammells had a few bad games now. Yes a rookie manager will make mistakes but he doesn't seem to be learning from them. Favoured formation and personnel are mismatched at the moment.

One possible small mercy this week  from a footballing, not financial,  perspective is that the St Mirren game was postponed until after 1 January

The only say Hammell potentially had was at the backend of the window, last minute panic mode after being beaten twice by an Irish League team. We were woefully under prepared for the start of the season and that’s in no way Hammell fault. Let’s at least give him one proper transfer window in January to try and bring in a couple of players that can make a difference. 4 players is possible in Jan but not a chance we’re signing 4 players that walk into the first 11, just don’t see us having the budget for that.
