Where to start with that…. 😞
Absolutely coasting at 2-0, then with the deserved red card for that thug Power it really did look like there was no way back for Killie. Obviously we had other thoughts! The lack of changes was baffling after such a long break. Not hindsight as we were screaming for subs at 2-0, Cornelius for Spital was a bloody obvious change to give us more legs in midfield.
Might be proven wrong when I see it on TV but think Kelly will be very disappointed with the equaliser, thought he should have saved the Polworth shot, despite how well it was hit.
The only positive to take away from tonight is that for the vast majority of the game we were better than one of our relegation rivals. -

There is a strong rumour KVV will not be in the team tonight?
He wasn’t great pre the break but god help us if it’s true given the lack of options. Is the rumour that he’s picked up a knock?

It's not a cast iron yellow card if the referee decides he made an honest attempt to get the ball. In these incidents the forward always leaves his foot in for the goal keeper to catch. Not criticising Moult, he is just doing what all good forwards do. But every attempt by the goalie in this situation to get the ball is not always a yellow card.
Moult absolutely plays for it, no doubt, but goalkeepers fouling strikers in that way happens the length and breath of the country every weekend and they get yellow carded as a matter of course.
-
Just back from Tynecastle and to be honest when you’re in the ground it’s hard to tell if he got the big decisions right or wrong, but if he decides Gordon brought Moult down (and he clearly did) then he should yellow card him as a matter of routine. We all know the reasons he didn’t is because they were already down to 10 and that it was Craig Gordon the Scotland goalkeeper, disgraceful.

SOD Goss Slats Penney

This is what I’d play, but with one change being McKinstry for Tierney.

I really think we need to keep a sense of perspective on how things have gone so far under Stevie H. Whilst Rangers were poor yesterday, Van B hasn’t lost a league game to anyone other than Celtic since he took over. As many have said Stevie inherited a mess of a squad that had just be beaten twice by Sligo Rovers! In terms of defeats this season we have lost to the Old Firm, Hibs & Hearts, Kilmarnock away and St Johnstone at home. With St Johnstone at home being the only one we would have been favourites to win! We’ve beaten St Mirren, Livi, Aberdeen and Ross C, with probably only the Livi game seeing us as favourites to win! By the end of Feb I think we’ll have an idea of how things are going to play out. Like most I don’t think we have enough goals to make top 6 (unless Louis can get fit and stay fit) but I also don’t think we’re poor enough to end up in a relegation scrap.
-
Hope to be proven wrong but with Tierney, Morris and McKinstry starting, we look very light on players that are good out of possession. Would deffo have had Cornelius in over one of them.

No Snodgrass then, off to Hearts. If he stays fit he’ll be a good signing for them.
-
With what we have available I think this is what I would have gone with. Hoping a change of shape as well. After seeing Goss play more centrally in the 2nd half last week, it may work to have both him an Slattery centrally.
Think Aberdeen will have too much for us today, but a good performance would give us some encouragement for the next couple of winnable games.
-
Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Aberdeen, Hibs and Utd massive favourites to be top 6, as for the rest wouldn’t be surprised to see any of us in a relegation battle. We’ll be ok, just I think, although I also think we’re Kelly and KVV getting injured away from being bang in trouble…

Aye GA has his Money on 6-0
He’ll be a happy man today then. Grrr…

We now have 3 forwards and Tierney on the pitch, is he genuinely trying to lose by as many as possible?
-
Can anyone put up a reasonable argument for us having 3 forwards on the pitch, it’s ridiculous…
-
Tactics horrific again. Constantly giving good players 10 yards of space results in only one thing.
-
Last 10 was a horrible watch but well done to the players for digging in and seeing it out! Hate to think where we’d be without Liam Kelly!
-
Liam Kelly, outstanding save!

Does the motherwell ppv commentator know any players names, what side they play for and indeed which two teams are playing.
I think he’s much better than the usual!

Not sure we started that way but Donnelly deffo playing on the right side of a back 3 now.

KVV and Slatts both unwell apparently.

It appears so, assume Woolery & Mugabi both injured.

KVV & Slattery on the bench and Woolery & Mugabi out all together. Another defeat beckons :-(
-
Very frustrating afternoon. Bizarrely we played better than I expected, just didn’t take our chances and lost a horrible deflected goal.
Whilst theres no doubt we’re very poor, Utd aren’t any better.
To end up having to play Mugabi up front for the last 15 mins shows how poor we are in that position. He’s not a world beater but where is Roberts?

How much more do those cost?
£25 and predictable I’m already regretting it.
The way we’ve set up was ok when it was 0-0 but now we’re behind we have to change it and try and get more possession.

Van Veen is frustrating but we create so little without him. Scored one and made the other tonight!
