Claiming Gallagher feels like he has a gun to his head. Is that better or worse than a baseball bat to the head?

We've a dog's dinner of a squad. Guys like Seedorf who play, disappear, then reappear for 5 minutes before we remember just how poor they are. Cole being brought back smacks of laziness and an obsession with familiarity, while Long only did us the honour of returning because he'd hee haw offers elsewhere. Unfinished business my arse. Any decent players are marking time till they're off and the well looks dry for youngsters. The quick turnover obviously doesn't help, but how many of our current squad do you give a toss about? Or vice versa?
Robinson and Lasley have both alluded to players who have a problem with their attitude and it's plain to see there's a malaise or discontent about the place right now. Someone knows who they are. Any new guy's first order of business should be getting them to fuck, even before he attempts clearing the purely substandard out.
I'm no sure about Ross either.

I cannae get excited at the thought of Tommy Wright taking over, but he's got what most of us would accept is a good league record for a provincial club and realised a cup final isn't just a good day out. God knows why he'd be interested in us.

Lionel Feckin Blair could get a game for us
I thought Lionel Blair was deid. Wouldn't have changed the validity of your point, right enough.

if that was the players showing they’re behind Lasley, they’ve screwed him.
Only hole that lot could get out of.

You will be visited by the ghosts of 3 ex managers - the ghost of ex manager past, the ghost of ex manager present and the ghost of ex manager by the end of the season.

Not a great start to Lasley’s short managerial career.
Not a good end to it either.

We need to get the right man in. We can't make a decision in haste.
They need to get the right man in, in haste.

Carson, Gallagher O’Donnell, Campbell, Polworth, Carroll, Donnelly, Watt are all more than good enough for this league.
Even if they are, 2 out injured, 3 could easily be gone this month. And 8 players out of our squad are good enough for this league?

No player or member of the coaching staff should be allowed near a microphone tonight. Burrows might want to explain what the fuck is going on though.

Oh, Jesus.

Is anybody surprised Lasley was part of the SR decision making so did anybody really believe there would be a radical change of attitude / tactics today.
We may still win the game but I don't think Lasley should be considered for the job long term, we need a fresh approach and somebody new to get rid of the shite in the team, with a few new faces in this transfer window.
No surprised, but you can always hope. 45 minutes in, it's obvious how hopeless the situation currently is. Where do you start and where do you stop with this pile of shite?

What a team, seeing off 2 managers in 3 days? Somebody dig up Norris McWhirter.

Please let’s not have this every game from now on, it really is tiresome.
Aye, watching this lot, I know what you mean.

Who's his bookie, Bruce Grobbelaar?

He’s interested. Obviously.
Fair enough, just no heard or read him saying anything about it yet. Not every caretaker wants the job.

Keith Lasley taking over: best case scenario, Davie Hay, worst, Maurice Malpas. Does anyone on here know how much input he had in signings, team selection, tactics? Or if he's interested?
-
If Stephen Robinson wasn't the problem and we have a good quality squad, can someone please explain exactly how we ended up where we are?

Well I think it’s fair to say that was dreadful, I’m guessing we still had the majority of the possession over the 90 minutes but no one is coming out of that with any plus marks. We looked absolutely devoid of any confidence and sadly the summer signings have come back to bite us big style. Carson going off really just put the icing on the cake. I’m guessing given that it seems new signings are as good as in the bag Robinson will get the chance to turn it around but I’m under no illusions that the knives are now out big style. Think it’s time for an alcoholic beverage to numb the pain, can’t really be bothered with some of the gloating from fellow Motherwell fans after a loss, seems a bit strange to me.
I don't see much gloating, just folk who are being proved right, game after game. As for Robinson's signings, one look at that park and bench tonight should fill us with fear, not optimism.

I don't think anyone needs to explain why they think it's time for Robinson to go after tonight, but you'd have to come up with a convincing argument if you want him to stay.

Wish there was footage of the Airdrie semi final cutting about (no the replay!), my first Motherwell game. They guys must've been sick signing autographs for me.

OK, no more baseball cracks. But a captain desperate to leave a sinking ship is pure class. Is that what you call an intentional walk?
