Presumably because SK thinks he'll get a good season out of him after putting the work in over the summer.
That could be 'thought' rather than 'thinks'. We can't afford another Obika.

So that leaves him sitting on the bench for a year?
I think Steelboy's suggesting Halliday wouldn't hang around for a year if such a conversation took place, and I think he's probably right.

I reckon Halliday would do a job LWB. He can pass and cross the ball well and got a decent strike on him. Gent has been very good so will be tough to replace
If we're looking for someone to replicate what Gent did for us, Halliday's not the man.

Nothing new there, we are utterly hopeless in Cup competitions.
If it was up to me I would make it clear to the manager and the players that from next season any cup exits before the Quarter Finals to anyone outwith the Old Firm, Hearts, Aberdeen or Hibs will result in a hefty fine for each and every one of them.
I have Fraser Wishart on line one....

Same as some others, somewhere in between. What's done is done. I don't want Kettlewell out, but I do expect improvements in the glaringly obvious areas next season.

We've had worse seasons and we've had better..................the joys of being a Motherwell fan
Very true. We finished 9th and conceded 69 goals the season prior to reaching both cup finals. It's always darkest just before you put ten bob in the meter.

Are you having a laugh!!!!
If you're happy with the way the season has gone just because we avoided relegation then it says more about you than most of us.
I can't believe you are ok with the winless run, remind me again how many games it was...............
I suppose you loved our cup runs as well............
I suppose it depends on how often you've seen all this before. You don't need to be drawing your pension to remember a longer run without a win. A couple of seasons later we lifted the cup. The following year, a relegation fight. 2 years later, could've won the league. Real highs, real lows.
I don't see anyone saying everything's great, but if anything, it's below average, not catastrophic or unprecedented. This season's history and it'll be all change by August, so why get our knickers in a twist about things we have no influence over? I'm hoping it's gonnae be one of those good years you never see coming.

When's this investment money getting spent? Badly need quality in this side.
What investment money?

Because that ref is a clown. He also missed an obvious corner for us at 40 mins when the defender blocked Bair's shot.
You'd think the keeper running out to congratulate him on blocking the shot might've been a wee give away, but our refs are too clever to fall for that.

His face tripped him.
Liam Kelly's having a decent game.

For those of you that are able to remember, how does Willie Kilmarnock fare when discussing club legends? I only ask as he was our first captain to lift the Scottish Cup and the archive footage suggests that he played a prominent role in keeping Dundee out that day.
He's got to be right up there in terms of service and achievements. 4 finals, 2 winners medals within 5 years. You'd also be looking at guys like Andy Paton, Baldy Shaw and Willie Redpath from that side.

Yes, he's defo off joining a new team in the new Zealand league apparently.
Nobody is 100% certain he ever really existed.
If it is Auckland FC he's joining, they'll be competing in the Australian A-League as an expansion team.

On the topic of Scottish cup wins it was 33 years ago today we were heading into Hampden more in hope than expectation to play Dundee untd. To see us lift the cup that day was right up there as 1 of my proudest moments as a well fan, what a weekend that was.
Still waiting on a refund from Scotrail.

📽️ The greatest Motherwell player?
📽️
Impossible to say who the greatest of all time is, for so many reasons, not least the number of guys those of us on here never got to see play. Willie Pettigrew was probably my first favourite, but my memories of guys I've seen since are much more vivid. Tommy Coyne would take some beating for me.

Obika hasn't missed all season. He's made ten appearances and scored an equaliser at Celtic Park.
Just feels like he's missed all season. Certainly not a successful re-signing.

Andy Halliday is a doubt for the game. Is it just me or does he always seem to have injury/fitness problems? Would a good pre season solve them at all?
I doubt it. I wasn't sold on him coming but he spoke well about helping the young guys in his wee interview. I've a feeling he has enough professional pride to know whether his legs have gone at this level or not, and act accordingly.

There's no one who wants an apology or compensation but you are comparing it to Celtic. Unbelievable.
Yes, there is. But since you're not interested, why would you bother checking the facts?

Levein's lot gave themselves something to play for on Sunday.

Aberdeen twice on bad runs and beat us. Also they did it last year. Ross county last year. Hins last year.
The 4-2 Aberdeen game and 3-0 County game could be described as hidings. The other defeats this season, no.

Maybe it won't. But if Halliday had finished the season in exactly the same way with Hearts instead of moving here, would anyone be thinking we should move for him?
If Kettlewell is happy to give him a chance, fair enough, it's his call. If it goes wrong in the same way it did with Obika, folk will start to get pissed off.
