  1. Same here. Some cracking shots in there, but this one illustrates how we've played this season.
  2. That's probably a given, but if VAR in Scotland can't conclusively prove there was contact on Maswanhise, there can be absolutely no doubt it's not fit for purpose.
  3. But we all know it will. Hearts fans were delighted to take Saturday's decision, but you can almost guarantee they'll be greetin about VAR before the season's over. Three sides going for the title - it's an accident waiting to happen.
  4. The attitude towards Motherwell on social media has definitely swung recently. No doubt the inevitable 'too big for their boots' backlash accounts for some of that, but since Slattery's ban, 'diving cheats' is thrown out every time one of our guys goes down. Luckily, we have fair minded, competent referees who are immune to that stuff.
  5. Yeah, there's no way that one's going down as an incorrect decision. I'm more interested in hearing Collum explain how both the referee and VAR managed to miss the Maswanhise penalty. My money's on a shrug.
  6. Exactly this. The offence took place before Welsh made contact, and the fact Kabore got a boot to his noggin simply highlights it was dangerous play on his part, as defined by the laws of the game.
  7. Can't say I've been paying much attention to opposition keepers, but had a wee look at their passing accuracy stats for the last couple of games. Ward was between 70-80%, McCracken 50-60% and Prior around 40% for both matches. Could be to do with how many long balls they're hitting, but given what happened with Oxborough, you'd wonder if they're the type of keeper Jens would be after.
  8. To be honest, I don't see many people on here suggesting it doesn't matter what we do, but even if they were, it would be equally nonsensical to suggest it doesn't matter if other teams get dodgy penalties against us, while we are denied stonewallers. There are very few teams who can cope with those kind of decisions on a consistent basis, and we certainly aren't one of them. We're all frustrated right now. Maybe don't poke the wound quite so soon.
  9. At Kilmarnock today, though it took 8 minutes to review, and the ref still managed to feck it up by not red carding the Killie defender, despite the fact he made no attempt to play the ball. And it probably wasn't a penalty. And it was possibly offside.
  10. If Grant Hanley receives an additional ban due to this being his second red card of the season, can Motherwell appeal?
  11. One nil to Aberdeen. Hanley sent off for Hibs.
  12. Much as I dislike the pair of them, neither Celtic or Rangers have a 3pm Saturday kick-off in their final fixtures.
  13. I think most folk compare what they're watching now to what they previously watched when it comes down to it. Crowd numbers alone would suggest they much prefer what JBA's team has served up to what the past few managers delivered. On a personal level, that's certainly the case. Doesn't make Askou a genius, doesn't mean Kettlewell's a donkey (though we could take the views of Ross County and Kilmarnock fans into account on that one).
  14. True. Personally, I hope they don't. Their fans seem to have a real problem with Motherwell, whether they're greetin about getting relegated at Fir Park, being refused promotion while we stayed up, or (as I read today) their keeper getting sent off in 1992 for mouthing off about a Falkirk free-kick that turned into a shy (immediately followed by a goal) for us. I suppose they had plenty of time to seethe in the lower divisions.
  15. Before my time, but Bobby Ancell would probably qualify as a legend to most older fans.
  16. Hearts just shovelled more pressure on themselves. We need to make that work in our favour.
  17. I'm no sure he's blaming the officials for our defeat, but let's be honest, it was a stonewall penalty and a red card for the Falkirk player early on. We saw how that can change a game the other week. And their 3rd goal was never a penalty. We're struggling a bit just now, but carrying absolutely no luck and been on the wrong end of some horrendous decisions recently.
  18. VAR chose not to see the foul on Maswanhise. Unless they can explain why tripping an attacker in the box is not considered a penalty.
  19. Johnny Koutroumbis signs a 2 year extension. https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2026/04/03/contract-extension-for-johnny-koutroumbis/
  20. A big part of my first Well side. Sad to see another one leave us.
  21. He won our player of the month for March and sent a wee video message from the airport, by the look of it.
