5I don't think our problems can be solved without two or three signings. I tried to pick a team in the match thread last week and gave up because there's no way to put out a decent 11 despite the bloated squad we have. We don't have a centre mid who can screen the defence but also bring the ball out and play a pass. Rose runs around and makes a few interceptions but most of the time he's hiding and he's a man down when we have the ball. We don't need a world beater just basics. The 3-5-2 is killing us. In the second of half of games i can see what Tait, Cadden and Aldred can see and there is nothing on for them to pass to. Our tactics are basically technically poor centrebacks playing 40 yard passes to technically poor strikers. And expecting Tait and Cadden to be able to defend, bring the ball forward and create in the final third. My initial reaction to us signing Sammon was that Robinson had just wrote his own P45. Main and Bowman can be good players for us with a partner who can take the ball into feet and play with their head up. They are never a partnership. Johnson looks miles from the required standard the now and Sammon is shite plus Robinson is scared to play him at Fir Park now as it will put him under more pressure. Personally I think the guy hasn't got a clue. He's been playing Grimshaw ahead of Turnbull. He kept putting Petravicius back in. He gave starts to Blyth and Shea Gordon. He signed Sammon. These aren't minor mistakes they are massive misjudgements and they are accumulating.

Aldred has one goal against his name this season which is Lafferty's header. That's decent going for 8 or 9 games.

If we sack him now they can put Lasley in and give him a points target from the next 5 games. If he gets 10+ points give him the job. If he takes less than 4 from the next two games start interviewing.

He scored goals in the same pub league as Bowman. -

Based on what? He's had two easy finishes. Most of the rest of the time he's been garbage and his link play is dreadful. -

What makes Johnson a natural goal scorer? Other than players falling over to give him easy finishes he's shown nothing. He was awful today. -

It's mental to say Main isn't trying. He emptied his tank working side to side in the first half and was constantly involved in the game. -

We deserved it for our last 20 minutes. Robinson's two subs made us worse. His time is up. -

The Main Bowman partnership has four goals in three games so I wouldn't be in a rush to split it up. Dropping Tait seems like a mistake but it'll force Cadden to raise his game. -
Top marks to Burundi for their anthem and a belter of a national stadium.

I usually think a change of manager boosts a team but Ross County sacking McIntyre 18 months after winning a trophy was crazy. The same goes for St Mirren getting rid of Danny Lennon. McIntyre is an upgrade on McCann. Very bad news for us given that Dundee have supplied us with 1/5th of our points under Robinson.

I know it doesn't but I like the idea that Broque rhymes with Rocky.

Has Frear fell out with Robinson? He's not been in the past couple of squads or listed as injured. -
I'd rather the reserves were used to develop our young players than Robinson's surplus signings. I've got the impression that Aygeman hasn't played much this season. He should be a priority over Sammon.
-
He was on the bench on Saturday anyway despite being in Marbella with Scotland on the Friday night. Sammon and Newell playing for the reserves today. James Scott, Aygeman and Semple kicking their heels on the bench. Cracking youth development.

That's the toughest draw we could get but it's good to be at home again. There will be a lot of petted lips if the boys pull off a shock.

If we get beat on Saturday he shouldn't get the chance to pick another team. -
The only over age player was Mbulu. I wouldn't change the squad now.
-
I thought Livingstone put his hand up for the first team. Maguire and Hastie played very well as well. As Ya Beezer says every single player showed something which was impressive. Hopefully we can get another home draw and get a bigger crowd in. Last week's dross and the weather probably kept a lot of fans away.

Two of the best left backs in Europe? I watched Tierney play in Salzburg the other week, 48% pass completion.
-
Aye that result and drawing at home to Latvia. Gemmill is a tactically a soul mate of our manager, he should be nowhere near young players.

Cadden got a run in the team after we got gubbed 6-1 by Hearts. Campbell got a run in the team after getting gubbed by St Johnstone and being booed off at half time at home to Ross County. Turnbull seems to be in the same boat as Maclean last season in that he'll get subbed on only if we are losing and devoid of ideas. It's no way to run a youth set up.
-
Cadden and Campbell start for Scotland in the Ukraine tonight. They need a win to have a chance of progressing. I spotted on the SFA twitter that Jamie Semple is in Marbella with the u18s so he won't be in the squad tomorrow.

Over the 4 years he was here he was a very good player for us. And he scored an all time screamer.

Loaned to Raith Rovers probably.
