Most fans of lower league clubs feel it is devaluing the competition and given the fact that most Premiership clubs won't even play their games at their home grounds they have a point. The only reason the u20s are in was to test the waters for Old Firm Colt teams in the league set up. The results have proven that is a non starter now so we should leave the lower league teams to their tournament.

By the sounds of it we are lucky to be only one down. Possibly too much for the boys. With Accies, Aberdeen and Ross County u20s getting gubbed you have to wonder how long they will keep these teams in the tournament.

I'd take Skondras as well.

Crusaders are 5/4 today which seems very generous. I'm not sure if we are taking any overage players but today will be a big test for our defenders.

He will probably think it's better to stay on the current wage to increase his chance of a bigger wage later. And if a team is willing to pay us £500,000 for him they would surely rather than pay him a big signing on fee, us heehaw and save themselves a few hundred grand.

Teams are going to be struggling to match up if we are putting Bowman, Moult, Rose, McHugh, Kipre, Hartley and Dunne in the box for set pieces.

He should be a good signing. Adds some experience with Kipre and Dunne either side of him providing the athleticism.

All I heard was an ex target who went to Blackpool and assumed Hartley. Aldred could fit that bill as well. Aldred has played in the league for Bury whereas Hartley has only played in cups for Blackpool.

Aye but we can hopefully move him on for more when he has put a strong run of performances together. So we get more money and the benefit of him for a while. He was immense on Saturday and he will hopefully improve over the season.

In terms of revenue the quarter final coming up is as big as a transfer. If we make it into the semis with Hibs and the Old Firm we'll make a bundle.

There's a formula for cross border compensation for u23s and he's 22 when his contract ends. There are different categories of club which involve different levels of compensation. The only problem is if you end up with a situation like Craig Sibbald where no one wants to pay the compensation but the player wants to leave.

McHugh played centre half for Bradford and Plymouth before moving into midfield. I think he would be disappointed to go back there though. You can see him improving enough to play centre mid for a Championship team but he's too small to play centre half at a higher level.

Grimshaw would be for right back/ wing back I think.

I heard a rumour that if Heneghan goes we are looking at trying to bring in Peter Hartley who we almost signed last summer. Looking at Soccerbase he signed for Blackpool in the summer but hasn't featured in the league at all for them so may be surplus to requirements.

Aye but it would be daft for Oxford to put in a clause where they could sell him and make a loss.
