  1. Definitely. He was a headless chicken in his first season. If you combined the ability of his final season and the pace when he arrived you'd have some player.
  2. If we sign Pearson and have Campbell, Turnbull and Fry knocking on the door of the first team we would be as well letting him go. He let the team down today and should have been sent off against Killie as well. Given his injury record and mediocre performances why give him another deal?
  3. His pace was mostly gone by the time he left anyway. That video is against Vigurs so it's deceptive.
  4. That park and this wind means it's not a day for getting the ball down. Accies defence is pish. If we win the centre mid battle and apply pressure we'll get chances to score.
  5. Put Ainsworth in the team Humphrey played in and he would look a lot better. We've been constantly toiling during his four seasons.

It's a shame the other 9 weren't able to attend the ceremony but the 10th anniversary dinner is getting closer all the time and what a night that will be. Jim Gannon and Paul Slane as the guests of honour.
  7. That could be a big three points for us come May. The second goal was excellent.
  8. That's always been McGhee's style. Pick favourites and isolate guys you want rid of, play half fit players and try to keep subs to the minimum. He probably thinks he's emulating Fergie at Pittodrie and ignoring that 30 years have passed since then.
  9. Every time Tait is one on one he starts off in a poor position and then backs off even further allowing the cross to go in unopposed. It's still a 7 way battle for relegation so we might be saved by other teams being worse but if we are to improve we will need fresh blood in the middle of the park and Moult to string a few decent games together rather than turning up once every six weeks.
  10. Heneghan deserves as much blame for the two goals. Lucas passing the ball back at the first was criminal as well.
  11. I'm not sure if Cadden would sign for Rangers anyway. He's a big Celtic fan.
  12. I like this team. We'll probably get beat but it gives us a chance to win. Bowman also gets a chance to prove himself without jeopardising more winnable games.
  13. They were both poor but Lasley at least works hard when we don't have the ball and makes tackles and interceptions. Clay disappears. Lucas was ok but he could have been sent off for the tackle he got booked for.
  14. We did enough to win the game. Missing four one on ones is poor and Clay should have scored the volley in the first half. Louis Moult didn't show up today and Clay was terrible. Switching to 4-5-1 with McDonald on the wing was crazy, we nullified our own best player. The change should have been McLean off and Dom on. We also need to work on set pieces, big Heneghan would be as well staying on the half way line as he's awful at attacking the ball. We threw two points away today so we either have to go against form and pull out a shock in the few games or we'll be under serious pressure against ICT and Accies away.
  15. Are we better than Kilmarnock though? We should be given the chaos there in the summer but the table doesn't lie and so far Lee Clark has done a far better job than McGhee. I honestly thought that Accies and Killie would end up on their own at the bottom but they have both performed above expectations. Killie have found a goal scorer and are very aggressive so we can't take them lightly. We have been much better since Moult and McDonald started playing up front together but we still need to get the points on the board before we can start crowing about being better than anyone else. Right now we are up to our necks in a relegation battle with 6 other teams.
  16. If the offers come in they'll be off. We missed out on a big fee for Reynolds by knocking back Rangers. That didn't work out badly but we're not in a strong enough position to do the same nowadays. We can't afford another Hutchy scenario.
  17. Brentford have just decided to give up on youth development and buy in a team of 17 year olds to train. Not for us.
  18. It's about getting funding from the SFA for coaching and playing fixtures against the other best academies. If this elite 8 thing happens and we're not in it we'll probably have to cut back on coaches and will be a second class team in terms of fixtures. It will make it harder for us to recruit and keep talented young players.
  19. I didn't know anything about this until McGhee brought it up the other week. Cutting the size of the pro youth system is a good idea but giving all the funding to eight elite clubs is crazy. There is talk of an elite Highland academy despite the fact that the total population of the Highlands is less around a third of that of Lanarkshire and there are far fewer kids. I suspect that the Old Firm want a clear run at the entire west of Scotland which is why we are being marginalised.
  20. We didn't have the legs in the team or the options on the bench to get anything from the match. Losing the winner so late was a sore one but it was always coming after Armstrong scored. There were lots of positives though. McDonald, Moult and Cadden will win us games if they all stay fit. McLean showed composure and aggression and gives us a more balanced look. McManus was immense and the defence played well, all four of the goals came from the midfield not picking up. Get Pearson and another midfield option in in january and we might be onto a decent second half of the season.
  21. We should maybe give Faddy the day off when we have the Scottish cup.
