  1. Are we better than Kilmarnock though? We should be given the chaos there in the summer but the table doesn't lie and so far Lee Clark has done a far better job than McGhee. I honestly thought that Accies and Killie would end up on their own at the bottom but they have both performed above expectations. Killie have found a goal scorer and are very aggressive so we can't take them lightly. We have been much better since Moult and McDonald started playing up front together but we still need to get the points on the board before we can start crowing about being better than anyone else. Right now we are up to our necks in a relegation battle with 6 other teams.
  2. If the offers come in they'll be off. We missed out on a big fee for Reynolds by knocking back Rangers. That didn't work out badly but we're not in a strong enough position to do the same nowadays. We can't afford another Hutchy scenario.
  3. Brentford have just decided to give up on youth development and buy in a team of 17 year olds to train. Not for us.
  4. It's about getting funding from the SFA for coaching and playing fixtures against the other best academies. If this elite 8 thing happens and we're not in it we'll probably have to cut back on coaches and will be a second class team in terms of fixtures. It will make it harder for us to recruit and keep talented young players.
  5. I didn't know anything about this until McGhee brought it up the other week. Cutting the size of the pro youth system is a good idea but giving all the funding to eight elite clubs is crazy. There is talk of an elite Highland academy despite the fact that the total population of the Highlands is less around a third of that of Lanarkshire and there are far fewer kids. I suspect that the Old Firm want a clear run at the entire west of Scotland which is why we are being marginalised.
  6. We didn't have the legs in the team or the options on the bench to get anything from the match. Losing the winner so late was a sore one but it was always coming after Armstrong scored. There were lots of positives though. McDonald, Moult and Cadden will win us games if they all stay fit. McLean showed composure and aggression and gives us a more balanced look. McManus was immense and the defence played well, all four of the goals came from the midfield not picking up. Get Pearson and another midfield option in in january and we might be onto a decent second half of the season.
  7. We should maybe give Faddy the day off when we have the Scottish cup.

    Belic

There's no mystery with Belic. Everyone who has seen him play says he is well below the standard required. Blyth looked sub Casagolda in his sub appearances. Bowman doesn't look too clever either.
  9. We've lost all our games against the top five teams so far. Hearts are a bad match up for us. Too big, too strong. The main thing is picking up points against the other teams in the relegation battle.
  10. I doubt there are any EPL teams with a full stand priced lower than the East. It's more likely to be restricted view or a limited number of cheap deals for PR purposes.

    Dom Thomas

Faddy or bust seems harsh. There's a lot of space in between. The biggest things that has happened with Thomas is the fans (and i'll admit doing it) got carried away with a few bits of skill. He obviously needs to work with the coaches to improve but every sub appearance shouldn't be do or die. Give the guy a break and lower expectations.
  12. I think it's the six weeks off that causes the fitness issues rather than the league cup.
  13. I sit up the far end of the East Stand so Partick Thistle away was the first time i've seen Brill fairly close. He's fat as fuck! I spend about five minutes wondering why some random was on the park before being told it was him. It obviously doesn't matter as much as outfielders but it suggests he's not bursting his arse to get a start.
  14. Great news. Hopefully the Society can grow from here.
  15. There are rumours that he is down in Brighton a lot during the week and McFadden is taking training. That's not acceptable from any manager.
  16. McGhee said on the radio after the Rangers cup game in the middle of July that his aim for the season was to avoid relegation. I think that gives a good idea of what he thinks of the club and the resources he has available.
  17. I thought Tait did well. Cadden stood out amongst the dross as usual but he needs end product.
  18. I get the impression that McGhee sees the job as below him and he's more suited to five star hotels that Scotland stay in and standing across from Jogi Low or in the technical area at Wembley than doing the dirty work up at Dalziel Park. The reaction he got from the fans at the start of the year probably soured things a bit but there is no excuse for the half arsed job he has done this season from the late start to preseason to the scattergun team selection and signing policy. Fitness is a massive issue as well and we are creating basically nothing in the second half of games. I thought we were going to be saved this season by Accie and Killie but they have both shown more than us this season so far and appear to have more qualities for a relegation battle. It's still early but the next two games are massive. Lose them both and I think McGhee will be guaranteed to be away before the New Year.
  19. Inverness did what every team does against us at Fir Park now. Kept it tight first half, went for the win second half. McGhee is under pressure now. We haven't improved in two years since McCall left and the players McGhee signed haven't made any impact.
  20. Gary Mackay Steven looks like he's enjoying doing the Celtic TV. He'll surely leave in January.
