  1. Dundee United fans would say the same about Spence and Rangers fans would have said the same about Traynor in the Murray era.
  2. Scott Burns is Burrows pet journalist. He gets the stories from Fir Park and reports whatever the club wants.
  3. McGhee never publicly said £1m but on the same day he said Oxford couldn't afford Marvin all the papers branded him £1m rated so he obviously told the print media that off the record.
  4. Alex Neil doing Accies a favour is the only reason they got that much.
  5. It's not been overly successful has it?
  6. I'd be happy to see the back of him now. He hasn't produced on the park so the fee reflects his value. Half of Greg Stewart sounds about right. If he could be trusted to knuckle down and raise his value on the park i'd rather see him stay but he obviously can't. It is entertaining seeing posters who previously wanted £1m or £750k now saying he's rubbish.
  7. Million pound Marv's value is going down rapidly
  8. What would it have to do with the English club?
  9. Because he keeps on getting him pay rises and he will likely get another one tomorrow.
  10. To me it looks like McGhee sets the agenda at the club nowadays. Just trying to think of a player brought up from England by a (non OF) club then sold back down for a good profit. Any examples?
  11. We could change our business plan from effectively playing bargain hunt in the English non league system and selling players to clubs who already rejected them to something revolutionary like.... Making money from cup runs, bringing our own youths through and increasing attendances by playing decent football.
  12. Obviously we have but we have made an arse of it by asking for too much for a guy who produces little. If we sell him tomorrow for a realistic price the fans will be in uproar (it's incredible that people have read his agent's statement and are still talking about 750k plus add ons). If we don't sell him we are stuck with an unhappy player who already shows questionable effort.
  13. It's not poker though. There's no bluffing, any team that wants to sign him can easily get every minute he has played for us on video. What McGhee says in the press is irrelevant to other clubs. It only effects our support and the player involved. There's no need to talk up or down. When he adds end product he'll get the move he deserves. McGhee, Craigan or McManus can say what they want in the press but we only get a decent fee if he delivers on the park which he hasn't.
  14. Holding out for an offer that suits us is fair enough. However the constant talk in the press has resulted in the player demanding to leave and a good chunk of our support expecting 7 figures for a player who has more bad games than good. Teams with money to spend don't do their scouting via the record or sportsound. What do we gain by McGhee talking about a potential transfer all summer?
  15. His agent makes some good points about Marvin not being anywhere near the valuations thrown around. McGhee has brought this on himself talking about it constantly getting the player and support wound up.
  16. Paterson is a person trainer now. He's probably fitter than when he was slowmo-ing down the wing for us.
  17. Marvin has been hearing and reading pish about being a million pound player all summer and probably has his heart set on living closer to home and being significantly better off come September. Now reality has bitten him in the arse in the form of not getting a kick against journeymen Dundee players and the transfer request is a final straw clutch.
  18. Celtic have plenty of CL cash. Them overpaying for Marvin would be tremendous. Look at how they got stung for GMS and Cifti.
  19. That site is obviously connected to his agents. It was a sad sight seeing him trying to do a goodbye lap to general indifference on Saturday.
  20. Nope. He was fucked for most of the second half but he did get a wee second wind near the end after playing at walking pace for 30 minutes. Every game i've seen him he's completely disappeared after half time.
  21. Strange to see Clay being mentioned when he took a good 30 minutes off. He's so unfit he was struggling to chase back in the first minute after half time.
  22. Cheers McGhee. Wingers on the wrong side until we were dead on our feet, fat Faddy the only sub, not a centre forward anywhere in sight and Clay walking about for the entire second half. Million pound Marv might have to be wrote down a bit before the window closes.
  23. Having full backs that were better on the ball than most opposition midfielders meant we could play high up the park and press our wingers right up. Hateley was a good player for us who had a few spells of poor form. But in terms of goals, assists, clean sheets, always being available and what we produced on the park he was a very successful player for us.
