  1. The u19 comment is funny. The only player he can mean is Campbell and he won't give him 15 minutes as a sub.
  2. I noticed ex Falkirk midfielder Jay Fulton scoring for Swansea tonight. He would surely be worth a loan inquiry?
  3. We surely aren't in a position where the manger is sending messages to the board via team decisions? It's not like we are Chelsea or Real Madrid with complicated politics or an enigmatic owner.
  4. The frustrating thing is we have got results against far, far superior Old Firm teams with big contributions from our youth players who eventually weren't good enough for the top league. Winners against Celtic by Fagan, Ross and Fitzpatrick. Darren Smith getting a 90th minute equaliser against Celtic. Kinniburgh with a goal in the 4-4 each game and MotM the last time we beat Rangers in the league. When you have a small squad you need to squeeze every drop out of it. McGhee's lack of subs at Ibrox and especially Celtic Park is very, very strange.
  5. Disagree. He did well enough to earn a two year deal in his first six months here and i've no doubt that you were posting it was a good move (probably by 'Barra'). He then had a poor start to the season with the club descending into chaos off the park and Law outside him on the park. After East FIfe he put in two decent performances in the home draw with Ross County and win at KIllie. After that he played one more game at centre back up at Ross County in a defence with Kennedy, Law and Marvin at left back. Ferguson is in the final year of his deal, didn't get great reviews in League One and is nowhere near the first team. Kennedy is a likeable guy who will go in where it hurts but is a complete bomb scare. It astounds me that anyone would think either of the two of them are better options than Laing.
  6. I was at the League Cup match and watched the other two live on TV. We fell out the game as badly against Rangers as we did against St Johnstone in the final 30 with players constantly isolated in defence and attack. Dundee looked strong in the second half against Rangers but lacked quality to create chances. They were also very unfortunate that Forrester wasn't sent off while we were lucky not to give away a penalty. We are not a team who can play for 90 minutes (or even 75) and the manager has had already said he won't be willing to use subs next Saturday.
  7. Dundee were poor in the first half against Rangers but came on strong in the second half. Compare that to our two games vs Sevco (and factor in the final 30 mins against St Johnstone) and it's not hard to see the writing on the wall here.
  8. We could have used one of the teenagers to come on and give us fresh legs in midfield. Instead we put in McDonald who is in poor shape and and had put in a good shift up front. The result of the substitution was that we ended up with Blyth up front doing absolutely nothing and McDonald making the mistake that led to their winner. If we don't have a midfielder in the u20s who can put in a better 15 minute shift than a knackered McDonald it's a bad reflection on everyone involved.
  9. McGhee's word isn't exactly worth much. If we got compensation for Leitch Burrows can easily mention it on twitter as he did for Hall.
  10. The manager was discussing fitness during the week. It was discussed on here prematch. It cost us again today and it's not even as if Rangers had a team of powerhouses out other than the two fullbacks.
  11. Lasley, age. Clay, step up from non league. Chalmers, not an athlete. Marvin, over worked (having him on for the 90 at Celtic Park was stupidity). McDonald, wee fat and doesn't turn up to the start of preseason.
  12. We were barely in their third in the second half due to lack of fitness. McDonald, Marvin, Clay, Las and Chalmers were all burst by the end.
  13. Lack of fitness and no midfield cover on the bench has killed us.
  14. Currently eating a pie in a National League stand. Loads of talent, terrible attitude. We are looking comfortable here. The stream is shit but everyone looks to be working much harder than last week.
  15. I said that we needed McDonald because we couldn't count on Moult, Fletcher, Moore or Clarkson to score goals. Moult thankfully came good and he's got great positional play and competes well physically for his size. Blyth hasn't shown anything yet other than that's he's a big unit. I don't think we can expect too much from him.
  16. I don't think Blyth has shown anything other than the willingness to be an ineffective battering ram. His sub appearance last week was at the level of Casagolda.
  17. We need to sign someone who can cover ground in midfield and another striker who offers more than McDonald leading the line. Sadly we have wasted chunks of our budget on Blyth and Clay so it's unlikely to happen. Lasley, McDonald and Hammell should be 1 to 1 with whoever is in charge of sport science every single day and told if they don't get into better shape they can forget about playing.
  18. Another doing on the cards today I think. McGhee's comments about the GPS tracking being 1.5km per player down is the equivalent of playing with a man less for the full game and isn't something that can be sorted by an afternoon of interval training. We completely fell out the the Rangers and St Johnstone games after an hour and honestly didn't look much fitter than an outfit like East Stirling until late on. The buck stops with McGhee for the poor pre season and bad player recruitment.
  19. Clay disappeared after our goal and is going to pick up a lot of bookings with his style of play. He's not what we need but at least he looks like he'll give 100%.
  20. McGhee choosing to take off Cadden and put on a cart horse up front cost us. We went about 10 minutes near the end without putting two passes together. The only positive is that we did make chances so with Moult back we might be more competitive.
  21. Celtic are hardly in good form. They squeaked by Hearts and Astana with late goals. They looked like world beaters last night because we let them walk right up to our 18 yard line.
  22. The official site labelling him an 'attacking' midfielder is a classic piece of Burrows propaganda.
  23. They tend to have players who are fit enough to compete physically for at least the first half.
  24. It depends what you class a higher level. League One, yes. It's always a bad sign when a manager starts bringing in job lots from one agent. Hennighan, Tait and Clay could well be the new Murphy, Molloy and Keegan.
