McManus has been better this season and since he joined he has started near enough every game. Lasley and Hammell should be given another year as well. I read a comment about the quality of the players we have brought in recently versus the guys some fans want to release. We've made big mistakes in the transfer market recently but across the whole league it seems to be harder and harder to bring decent players in, Aberdeen have clearly decided to bring in guys already proven in the league rather than risk going further afield and Hearts seem to be back to their old policy of sign as many foreign players as possible and hope for the best. Every other club is struggling to bring in players of the required standard. We obviously need some fresh blood to improve the squad but we will still be looking for a goalie, right back, a couple of midfielders and a striker.

Partick have conceded 28 goals with 10 clean sheets and have only 8 games where they conceded more than once. We've conceded 43 goals with 5 clean sheets and conceded more than once 15 times. That's the difference between the teams at the moment. They can defend and we can't.

The 11 in the team earned their spot midweek. It's good to have strong options on the bench as well.

Given he's under pressure for selling their best players and pocketing the cash it's not a shock he's claming they are spending enough. Hearts have a bigger squad, a better squad and logic dictates that with double the average attendance they will be spending more on player wages.

It does look more likely that the eight teams bunched up will all continue to be inconsistent rather than one or two falling away. It's possible that you could have 8 teams on 30-33 points on Saturday night.

We got carried away with gubbing St Mirren and Accies last season. There's still a lot of work to be done.

We would have needed 42 to miss the play off last season. .

Including tonight we have 39 points to play for. Of the previous 39 points we have taken 15. Which repeated would probably see us in the play off.

A Killie and Hearts double is 15-1. That's a decent enough fix without betting against us.

We've only managed two clean sheets in the league under McGhee so tightening up at the back has to be a priority. We also need our set pieces to be better at both ends. We are failing to the basics at the moment which is why Killie and Accies have moved ahead of us. If we get away with a nothing each tonight it's something to build on and at least takes some pressure off the prospect of finishing bottom.

Whether you rate him or not Alex McLeish won 9 trophies and did well with the national team.

Not signing a defender in the window will come back to haunt us.

I like the look of that team. Harsh on Lasley because he's not been the worst but brining him on for the last 30 might sort our problems in the late stages of games.

You're not excited at the prospect of Faddy signing for the 4 time in 3 years?

Until someone has a worse pitch than we had in 2009 and 2010 I don't think we can complain too much. Thistle's was shit but not anywhere near ours back then.

I suspect that to get a transfer budget in the summer some in contract players will have to be moved on and Mcghee has already decided that Ainsworth and Laing will be two wages he wants to free up.

I'm no fan of the police but I don't think they are to blame at all. Their horses sorted it out eventually. As I said you can't stop people getting in the park if they want to. The SPFL seem to expect the club to take some sort of action which will discourage people from running on in future. So it's either hand out a few bans or get punished.

It's not possible to put enough stewards between the stand and the park to stop people coming on. Their is no way the club, the stewards or the police can stop a couple of hundred people getting over the wall if they are determined to. The SPFL obviously think handing out a few bans might discourage it happening again. It'll be interesting to see how the club react.
